Office staff is terrible... I was charged for missing appointments I never made. Also, I had to continually call to check for vaccine availability. When they finally did have them, they had so many rules about who "deserved" flu vaccines that it was ridiculous. On my 3 year olds birthday, they refused to give him the only flu vaccine they had because now he was OVER 3 years old. Even though I had someone in the house sick with the flu and it was urgent to vaccinate my son. If I had called them 6 hours earlier, they would have given him the vaccine. They could care less about their patients. I am moving on to a doctor's office that is run by doctors and not office staff.

Dr.Garadia is my daughter's pediatrician, She is Ok not that great. But, she does not want to spend time with the patient. They make us to wait out side. Again they will make you to sit in a room for 30-45 minutes. Nurse comes and ask what is the problem and makes a note of it goes saying doctor will be here. After 20-30 minutes doctor comes and just talk for 2 minutes and then vanishes for another 20-25 minutes. She comes gain tells some thing and vanishes. After waiting there for more than one and half hours she is not willing to talk much and answer to all of our questions. She will be in a hurry to see other patient who is sitting next door. Cant they attend one patient at a time. They are here just to make money. I dont know do they even consider about kid's health in their urge of making money.

I am planning to change the doctor soon. DONT EVER GO THERE!!

I have an 18 year old son and an 8 year old daughter and have been taking my children there since Dr. Wiley opened the practice. Actually Dr. Wiley SR was my pediatrician many years ago. I had been taking my son to a larger practice and when he developed some migraine headache issues, I became uncomfortable because he never saw the same doctor twice. Different medications and strategies were used and I felt like there was room for some serious error. When I learned that Dr. Wiley had opened his practice I took my son there and have ALWAYS received very personable treatment medically and personally from Dr. Wiley, Dr. Arkin and Dr. Goradia. Dr. Wiley knows both of my children by name, he always asked about my son even though he has not seen him for quite some time now that he is older. I have never experienced the bedside manner as described in some of these other reviews. My daughter was born with club feet, I received guidance and reassurance from Dr. Wiley on orthopedic doctors BEFORE she was born, he was at the hospital when she was born and routinely checked on her - and I can tell you that because we no longer live close to Dr. Wiley's office, we did try another practice closer to home and MY DAUGHTER even requested to go back to Dr. Wiley because she is comfortable with him and she trusts him - and I do too. I have never felt mis guided with any advice I have received there and have always felt very confident that my children are in great care.

I am really surprised to read some of the reviews online. My oldest daughter has been going to Dr. Arkin since 2002. We both LOVE him! He has a great bedside manner - very funny and very charming. I continued with this practice after having my second daughter, now 2 years old. When Dr. Arkin is not available, we have seen both Dr. Gorardia and Dr. Wiley. Dr. Gorardia is a very thorough pediatrician, as is Dr. Wiley who has personally called me to check on my daughter after she has been sick on occasions. I live about 25 minutes from the office but would rather make the drive to assure that my girls are in competant and compassionate hands!

I just moved to Virginia and needed a pediatrician. We went to this practice after reading the reviews. We wanted to see Dr. Gordia but she wasnt available so we settled for Dr. Wiley. HE WAS HORRIBLE. After explaining to him that my son complained about some knee pain, he proceeded to tell me that unless I could see something then not to worry when kids complain about pain! Are you kidding me!!! THEN when he checked him physically, he never told my sold what he was doing before he did it and was very rough with him! My son even cried because he scared him bc he never tried to actually interact with him. THEN when he started to cry he didnt stop he just said Im just doing so and so....he was just not good with children. Every other pedi Ive been to has explained to the child what they were going to do and tried to relate it in kids terms to make them more comfortable & he did none of this. I will be going somewhere else. But I will say the other staff was very nice.

New to the area and have seen 2 of their doctors. We like Dr Goradia. She is thorough and good with young kids. Dr. Wiley was less personable but still fine. Wait time was really long on a few visits. Staff is generally pretty nice. The $10 charge for forms is posted in each exam room, so no surprises, but no charge if you do the form during a well child visit. Also, they only have after-hours paging, which can be very confusing in the middle of the night. I much prefer a physician's answering service (more reassuring during urgent situations). Overall, the practice is satisfactory but not outstanding, but since we like Dr Goradia, I'd say my experience has been favorable.

I'm surprised at the previous review. I've been with this practice for five years and have seen all 4 doctors for either routine or urgent visits. All 4 doctors, including Dr. Arkin were kind and caring. ( He does have wry sense of humor and perhaps one of his jokes went wrong????) I know they frown on prescribing antibiotics right away, since the American Academy of Pediatrics advises doctors to discourage antibiotics for illnesses that would heal on their own. That's harder for parents, I know. I've had to make a return visit once or twice, though often it has healed on its own. On the other hand, they have put the kids on medication right away when the illness needed immediate action. If cost or time away from work for a second visit was an issue you could probably work something out with them--they are really flexible and understanding.
The $10 is standard for copies of records unless you ask for the copy at the time of the visit. it's a flat fee for records and it's pretty standard in this area ( lots of offices charge $25). It's a pain, I know but if it were really an issue the doctor or office staff might waive it.
It did take me a little while to warm to this practice, because they are different than my prior pediatrician, who had been with us since the kids were born. But at this point, they've earned my trust, and I don't say that very often. They really do care about the kids, both their immediate needs and their long-term needs.

Pros: Four caring and attentive doctors who will work with you

Cons: Take a wait & see approach which can require follow-up

.

Terrible! Dr. Arkin spends very little time, is condescending and made my child cry. Also, I went in to get a copy of the 4 shots he was given, and was charged $10!! I will never step foot into this practice again. DO NOT GO THERE!!!

Never again will I step foot in this practice. Dr Arkin is rude and condescending, and has a problem with kids who are on a vegetarian diet. Also, went in to get a record of the 4 shots he was given, and was charged $10...which was NEVER explained in the first place. Since taking my child here, I have ended up just going to KIDMED for sick visits, bc they do nothing at this practice. It's a "come back in a week if he is still sick"...so you are stuck with another large copay, and your child in that week gets worse and has no meds. NEVER again! I am so upset, I am also writing the Business Bureau about the treatment we have received. Run as fast as you can away from this place!!!

Dr. Arkin is a great pediatrician. He's great with kids and very funny. He makes the kids comfortable with jokes and makes them laugh. He makes himself very available and is very friendly when answering any questions or anything. He really learns to get to know the kids and develops a relationship with them.

Dr. Wiley has been a great Pediatrician for our family, when our twins were born premature he was at the hospital every morning to check on them, when they finally came home he was proactive about their care and helped us to get the information we needed to care for them properly. Not only is he efficient he's also friendly and sweet to the children, remembers them from visit to visit and listens patiently to their chatter -- he's a really wonderful doctor.
