Don't do it! You and your family will pay dearly, more really than is worth it for the convenience and the relative affordability. It is offset by rodent, pest infestations that go untreated; shoddy workmanship on the apartment repairs made on the unit you'll end up living up, very poor-quality windows that will make your utility bills far more expensive than what would be considered reasonable. Worst of all, if you are five days late for even 10% of one month's rent, expect to be served with an unlawful detainer and you and your family members personally bullied as though you have not paid rent in months. Lease contains language allegedly permitting these actions, in violation of state law, but very expensive to fight legally. There are way too many other affordable options in the area run by reputable management companies. Often, those being bullied are Energy is bad. Stay away unless you are truly desperate.

Within the first two weeks, we kept track of how many cockroaches we found and killed (not to mention the ones we didn't get). Our total was over 85. We found 6 within the first forty minutes of moving in. The first time we were told that an exterminator would come, a maintenance man with two cans of Raid showed up. We were told by our leasing consultant that our rent would be compensated for as long as we had a roach problem. This never happened. We've had the following issues with our apartment: a crack along the doorframe where air/light escapes/enters (unfixed), broken toilet, blown kitchen lights (twice), broken dishwasher, broken garbage disposal, dysfunctional bathtub drain, ceiling leak during heavy rain (unfixed!!), etc. We were given no front "lawn" area, because one of the larger trees in the neighborhood/complex grows there. A large tree branch from said tree fell and dented/scratched my car. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

As far as things we did expect, the pool is not bad, and the price is standard for the area. The shuttle service, for the most part, is good. I live in one of the two-level apartment/townhomes, and it's always hot upstairs in the summer. There are no cable outlets upstairs, so you have to get them installed if you want. Having the washer/dryer in the kitchen is awkward, and there is absolutely no cooking space. Lastly, when you walk in the front door, you face a wall... not welcoming.

Overall, I would not recommend the two-level apartments. While the amenities may seem like they have everything you want, I'd reconsider. I've only lived at Tyson's Glen for four and a half months, and I'm ready to hit the road.
