I went to Hour Eyes last night for the first time. I was due for my annual eye exam and have since changed my eye insurance, so my previous eye doctor was no longer an option.
Hour Eyes was recommended to me, so I thought I'd give it a try. The doctor I saw was ok. However, I didn't think she really listened to me when I was telling her about how my eyes react to contacts. She nodded "uh huh" and kept writing and said "try these." The contacts are terrible.
As for glasses, I'm not impressed with the selection of modern frames. The variety was rather limited...probably because they waste room with multiple pairs of the same frame.
I have to say, the staff was very nice and asked me multiple time if I needed assistance when trying on frames.
However, even with my insurance they are EXPENSIVE. I have Great converage with my insurance, but I still ended up paying a couple hundred dollars at the end of the night. Frustrating to know that I got a nicer and cuter pair from walmart without any insurance for less....overall, the experience was just Ok.

This store is awesome! The staff are polite and helpful, the doctors are caring and very professional, and my glasses and contacts were perfect!! I, unlike previous patients on here, was a bit more understanding with the staff, and they willing to cooperate enthusiastically. When you come off like a pretentious a-hole, why be surprised when people don't kneel down to your every need? Mistakes happen and the world doesn't revolve around you, so stop crying over the fact that the staff couldn't give you change. Most businesses would not give you change, either.

While I have no complaints about the physicians at Hour Eyes, I will say that there office/sales staff is the worst. I don't know who hired these people or why, but they need to have their eyes and heads checked. I've never dealt with a more incompetent group of people before in my life. I double checked to make sure that they accepted my insurance PRIOR to my visit. I go in for contact lenses and an exam (which I was fully covered for). I also wanted to purchase some glasses to supplement my contacts. (Also covered). I was then told that my insurance card was "basically a discount program" (which it most certainly is NOT) and that only a small percentage would be taken off towards my purchase of glasses, so I decided not to get them. Then I was also charged full price for my contact lenses and exam. Thinking that I had made a mistake, I paid the $100 and got the hell out of there. Then after a lot of back and forth with my insurance carrier (they had no idea why they didn't bill my insurance) it was all sorted out and Hour Eyes was to send me a re-reimbursement check. Well, 3 wks later and I'm still waiting. I just called and asked and they said there was another issue when the transaction was re-keyed and I SHOULD have my money no later than next Tuesday. For some reason, I'm not holding my breath...It's a shame b/c I really do like my doctor, but I can't deal with the staff so I probably will not be returning.

I was not customer, but I was in a bind. There is a local car wash next to the Hour Eyes in Manassas VA. I needed change and the only cash accepted to change at the car wash was $1's, 5's and 10's. I only had $20's. So I walk over to hour eyes hoping they could help. When I walk up to the counter and ask the girl if I can change a $20 she looks at me like I have 5 heads, she was not a people person and acted like I was ruining her day. So she opens the cash drawer (and I can see there is enough to cash it) and again acts as if I am personally putting her out. She looks up at me and asks how I would like the $20 changed, I gave her several options (don't know why she asked....anything but a 20!) and she gave me a puzzled look and said " let me ask my manager". And of course the manager said no. She failed to let her manager know that there was more then enough to help me out. I am a manager and I would do anything to help a potential future customer out... I do were glasses and am due for a new pair soon, needles to say I will NOT be bringing my business here, and I will let everyone know about my experience at this location.

I have used Hour Eyes of Manassas prior to my last "visit." They wait was long and it was far more than an hour for the while process. They seem to double book appointments and never tell anyone to come back later, which forces appointments that were booked, to wait. The cost is sketchy. They give you a price range and it always the top range. The last time I attempted to use them, I made an appointment, but when I arrived, my appointment had been erased from the books. Then they told me I had a t least a 15 minute. I left and went somewhere else. Honesty and integrity are important, this business doesn't doesn't have it.
