In the last two weeks I have been to Smithfield Station twice, once for dinner with a group of girlfriends and then for brunch with out of town guests. The food is wonderful, a great place for any occasion!
Also, my father and his wife stayed there at the hotel last week and they said the accommodations exceeded their expectations!
This is a beautiful restaurant in a fabulous location. And the food is outstanding and authentic Virginia fare. I had the sweet potato encrusted rockfish and it was amazing.
The Smithfield Station is great any time of the day, but the Sunday breakfast buffet is the best! My husband loves the omelet made special for you while you wait. I love the made before you waffles with fruit toppings and our kids love the danishes. There is such a variety and it is all fresh. Don't forget to try one of the ham biscuits, famous in Smithfield. You can dress casual or formal for this restaurant. The atmosphere is calming and very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant.
This place is one of the absolute BEST in the area for great and authentic Southern specialties. Breakfast is by far the best meal served, but the lunch and dinner entrees should definitely be counted in the review as being part of a great place to dine. The atmosphere is also wonderful... charming and southern to the core. The staff is friendly, and it's never too noisy or crowded. I've always had a great time at Smithfield Station.
The Smithfield Station is truly a dining experience.....a beautiful location, beautiful dining room, good service & excellent food !! I love their breakfast brunch on Sundays. It's a buffet with everything you can think of.....eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, all kinds of breads & pastries, waffles & strawberries & everyone's favorite..... the made-to-order omelettes. With crab meat & shrimp, if you like ! There are tablecloths & flowers on the tables & beautiful water views. I can't recommend it highly enough !
