We first tried Sparkles Day Care in Crystal City, It was not a got fit would be the most polite way of putting it. We had a very special hard headed 2 year old little boy. Did you notice I said HAD. Ms. Jo. spoke of her tenure there, and reassured us, BEHAVIOR & ATTITUDE adjustments were a couple of her specialties. It did not take long to consider her experience, the vast accumalateed knowledge of the entire staff, the unswerving dedication to their careers in child development, to make the best decision of my child's life. The transformation was so incredible that I felt obligated to write a review and praise the entire business.

You have to take these internet reviews with a grain of salt. We currently have a son in Ms. Jo's class at Kaye Kare. She is firm, yet caring and loving towards all the children. She has 20 years of experience.

Kaye Kare is a wonderful facility and its teachers are like my children's extended family/aunts. The teachers there are all loving, warm, and very seasoned child care providers. I am a type-A professional woman (read -- only the best for my children) who sat in and observed no less than 10 day cares in the NOVA area. I took a break from my career and became a full time mom for the first few years of their lives. So when it came time for me to resume my career and put my children in day care, my expectation was very high (since I was the primary care taker -- and no one's as good as mom) -- and I judged each facility I observed with a critical eye.

I read C.G. comments, and it appears that this may have been C.G.'s first time taking a child to day care. First of all, it's highly unsual (dare I say never?) for a child to accept a day care on day one (C.G.'s description of her first day at KK). For C.G. to then say her traumatized child proceeded to accept another day care facility on day three further illustrates the impossibility of her description/expectation. Ask any experienced mother or childcare provider and they will tell you that it takes at least a few weeks for a child that young to get acclimated with the concept of leaving mom. If you're a good mom, chances are your child's not going to want to leave you. I have experience enrolling my children at two other day cares before Kaye Kare. Crying and not wanting to go to school (for them it means leaving mommy) is *normal*. As a mom, it always breaks your hear to see your children cry, but sometimes it's part of the growing/maturing process.

I absolutely love Kaye Kare and its wonderful staff. They all know my children and their indiosyncracies as well as I do. I couldn't be happier with Kaye Kare and I know my children are well taken care of there.

And that includes Ms. Jo. Ms. Jo runs a tight ship -- and children thrive on that. My children are happy graduates of Ms. Jo's class. And they both still like to visit Ms. Jo as much as they can.

I love Kaye Kare and its teachers! When it came time for me to go back to work it was hard for me to think of the idea of putting my child in daycare. But Kaye Kare put me at ease. The environment is clean, organized and structured. The classrooms are very fun, colorful and promote learning and socializing for the little ones. The teachers are patient and caring with the children. Everyone is very friendly at Kaye Kare. I love how the children are taught and they learn so much, its amazing.

Ms. Jo is the best place to start! She is loving and has just the right amount of discipline and works wonders with potty training. She is very kind and patient with the little ones who have problems adjusting to being away from home for the first time. She helps to try and distract them and get them to interact with the other children. All 3 of my children love Ms. Jo, as well as the other teachers. They are all excited to go to school everyday and look for Ms. Jo to give her a hug before they leave in the evening.

I have been using Kaye Kare for over 10 years now and have had 3 (2 of which are currently there) children attend Kaye Kare. My children also participate in the summer program at Kaye Kare. I could go on and on about all the wonderful things about Kaye Kare. Its just a wonderful place for the kids!! I have recommended Kaye Kare and Ms. Jo to many friends and will continue to do so.

Kaye Kare Child Care Center takes all comments and reviews very seriously. We find that we must respectfully disagree with a review by C.G. The matters raised in the review were fully investigated not only by our school's management, it was also separately investigated by The Commonwealth of Virginia. The Commonwealth of Virginia determined that the complaint filed by the writer C.G was unfounded. Our investigation came to the same conclusion.

Mrs. Jo has been with the school for over twenty years and is loved and repected by the parents, teachers, her colleagues and most, importantly, the children. She is known for her compassion, kind nature, understanding and professionalism.

Everyone here at Kaye Kare deeply cares for the children left in our trust and provides a safe and nurturing environment and strives to make it a happy and educational experience. Our goal is that all children and their parents and guardians have a positive experience with our center and everyone here is dedicated to that goal. We wish it was different, but unfortunately, we believe that C.G's experience for herself and her child was unique to their circumstances and wish her and her child much success at their chosen center.

I was surprised to find a bad review about Kaye Kare. I have sent 4 of my kids to this daycare, all of which went through Ms. Jo's class. In regards to the other comment that was found I would like to say that I never saw any of that. In

Ever since my son was 2 I told him about preschool and how much fun it would be to be with other kids and learn. I got him all excited and told him when he turns 3 he would be able to go to preschool with other boys and girls. The time came and my son turned 3. I visited a few schools in my area and found Kaye Kare and decided to bring him with me to make sure he??s comfortable. He got all excited and finally decided to enroll my son at Kaye Kare. I walked him inside and he sat down right away and waved goodbye to me. When I picked him up that first day, he cried as soon as he saw our car. I was told that was normal and thought it really was.

During the first week, my mom, my dad and I saw how Ms. Jo talked, yelled and screamed at preschool kids! I??m talking about 2-4 year old children. She did would have her arms crossed to her chest while standing while yelling and giving instructions to these poor kids, in front of other kids, parents and co-teachers. She was not interacting with the kids as the other teachers. I was told she had 20 years of experience and since I??m not a teacher I thought this was OK but I had my guts telling me already it wasn??t. For 3 weeks that my child was there my son will cry every morning begging me not to bring him to school and will cry every time we pick him up. He normally tells me everything he did for the day but these dreadful 3 weeks he was just sad and quiet all the time. I thought this was unusual as my son is usually playful and happy and loves to talk. He never told me why he doesn??t not like school but he would just tell me ??I don??t like school mommy.? This broke my heart.

Ms. Jo should NOT be teaching preschool kids. Her ways and mannerisms were very unfriendly. I thought with these kids you should be encouraging them to go to school using positive motivation and I can see why my son and all the other kids were afraid of her.

I became concerned that Ms. Jo was ruining my child??s first experience with school. I tried talking to someone at the school but the owner was on vacation and so I had asked Ms. Jo to put him in another class, I was so surprised on what she had said to my mom! She said ??it doesn??t matter which teacher handles him, if he doesn??t like he wouldn??t?, what kind of response was that? I had already paid for 1 week and I didn??t care if that was a Tuesday, I pulled him out of that school immediately. I talked to someone about this but they didn??t seem too concerned, the other director told me ??you gotta do what you gotta do?, I found this disturbing and unsettling.

I eventually found a new preschool and visited with the teachers. We had to tell him he is going to a ??play house? and not a ??school? because he is traumatized with this word and associates it with mean teachers. He already loves his new preschool and his new teacher on his 3rd day! I am extremely appreciative of the teachers he has now. They all seem to really enjoy teaching the kids.

As for Kaye Kare, I am shocked and appalled at the lack of care they have for these children by employing Ms. Jo. Preschool is the foundation of their education and their first experience of what school will be like. It is this experience that will shape their mentality of school for the next 13 years. I urge anyone that is considering to enroll their child to look elsewhere. The blame does not solely rely on the teacher, Ms. Jo but rather the whole facility as no one seemed to care about anything other than getting their payment for the week. If you want your child to learn and blossom socially and educationally you should definitely look at any other school other than Kaye Kare.

I don??t do reviews normally but as a concerned parent I wouldn??t want anybody else to experience what me and child had.

Kaye Kare is a wonderful school that takes a genuine interest in the developement and learning of the children. Activities are varied, fun and age appropriate. The teachers take a real interest in the children. My children love to go to preschool here and are always happy and in good spirits when I pick them up. From a parents perspective, the school is not rigid and doesnt make ridiculous demands, like filling out forms for sunscreen and calling the manufacturer for expiration dates! I highly recommend Kaye Kare and the teachers who have been with the school for years, they're great.

I absolutely love Kaye Kare and the wonderful staff that works there! My son started Kaye Kare when he was 2 1/2; now he is in the 1st grade. When school is closed for professional days, he loves to spend the day with old friends and the staff. Being a public safety official, I must say that I had a peace of mind with knowing my child was in good hands. When my daughter is old enough to start, my husband and I will put her in Kaye Kare as well!!

I put my daughter in Kaye Kare when she was 2 1/2 and I kept her in through kindergarten. The teachers are always polite and really love the children there. My daughter was potty trained and taught reading and writing through this day care and overall I had a wonderful experience. It has been over a year since my child has graduated their program and she still talks about Kaye Kare. They also have a summer program for older children that my daughter has attended and it too is wonderful. I don't know why the person below had such a bad experience but mine was great.
