I have shopped at Judy Ryan's of Fairfax for years and find Judy to be extremely helpful in selecting anything from a mother of the bride dress to casual clothes. Judy seems to have a good eye whether you are old or young. The sales people provide customer service that is rarely found these days. And all these extra services are not reflected in the prices which are extremely reasonable.

Judy Ryan of Fairfax is hands-down the best boutique in the area. The personal service is unparalleled and the merchandise is top quality and very fashionable. Judy Ryan has personally assisted me in selecting many outfits over the years. She knows what works with each customer's body type and lifestyle and takes the time to help you find just what you're looking for. When I need an outfit, this is the first - and usually the only - stop I make. Judy has it all!

I just read the review by a former new customer. I am quite appalled that this former customer would have the reaction she did. It is most unfortunate as this is one of the best stores in the metro area. They are about as fair minded a store as one can find and treat any and all customers with great respect and dignity. In fact, Kyle is a wonderful sales rep so I am stunned to read what the customer wrote. I am sorry that she felt ill served. With experience in boutique stores or any store, wise shoppers know to read the receipt regarding purchase, returns (esp. if wavering on the item) and other related policies. Apparently newcomer did not do her homework. She indicated that the sales rep. did not advise her. Regardless of the perception, I honestly think it was incumbent on the customer to read the receipt. Too bad. I guess sometimes we learn the hard way. However, as a very long time customer, I can only say that I have never in the more than twenty years I have shopped there ever heard an ill or abrupt word from the staff. In fact, they are always very polite and respectful of the customers, most of whom are overwhelmingly delightful and polite individuals. In fact, in the few situations where I have overheard exchanges, it is always the staff that is accommodating and the customer who is peeved and a tad out-of-sorts. Now, of course a boutique store has to abide by their return policies for all - that is one thing that I like about the store - fair to all. And, let's not forget the wonderful selections that seem to be picked out personally for individual customers as if Judy had each and every one of us in mind when she goes to market in NYC or other locations. Without a doubt, this is a gem of a store not only in No.Va but in metro DC. In fact, in all of my travels, I still come back to Judy Ryan of Fairfax for selection, style, reasonable prices, customer service, and an overall feeling and sense of neighborliness and even family. I am sorry the reviewer was so peeved. I wish she would rethink and give all another chance but that is clearly her call. It is just that she will miss out on an excellent shopping experience. I suspect that there are many Judy customers who think the same way I do with regard to this shop and its staff.

First, I'd like to give Judy Ryan of Fairfax a 0-star rating, but that is an option.
I am (or should say WAS) a new customer of this boutique as of June 1st. They are really pushy; while I was in the store I felt "owned" and watched, but I usually just ignore that in smaller boutiques b/c that's just how they are.

Bought a few things I liked but felt truly pressured into getting an expensive skirt -- I was feeling so-so about b/c I knew it would be tough skirt to match a blouse with. My thought was, " Well, I'll just return it if I can't find the blouse/shoes."

When I checked out, Kyle gave me my receipt and FOLDED it in a way so as to shield the return policy on the bottom of the receipt. SNEAKY! Never said a single word about the policy.

Life went on -- as a busy mom, I shopped twice since the purchase at various stores, looking for a blouse. Nothing. So today I called the store, preparing to return the skirt but noticed the receipt said 10 days only or else store credit up to 30 days.

I called (as this is day 13 of my ownership & simple explained I'm a brand new customer & didn't know the policy, etc) I truly DID NOT know Judy Ryan of Fairfax had such a strict policy or I probably would have waited.

Spoke to Kyle @ Judy Ryan of Fairfax who ARGUED in her loud, Jersey voice INSISTING she had told me the policy. I said, you did not tell me the policy. She then stated, "It's on the receipt." They will do ANYTHING to make a sale -- even deceive.

Evidently Kyle & Judy Ryan are not concerned about keeping new customers, nor is the customer given any deference or respect - instead bullied. Honesty, evidently, is NOT their store policy. I feel so bullied & ripped off. Please save yourself the hassle of this shop. I wish I had b/c I now have a skirt that won't get worn this season...
I calmly stated to Kyle on the phone she would lose a customer over this purchase.
And I am always true to my word.

They carry a nice selection of beautiful clothes not typical in the mall stores. They also carry Brighton and various costume jewelry and shoes to complete the outfit. They even have a few home decorator items. Nice local business.

I like this store for the jewelry and gifts as they have a very nice selection of items. I have purchased a number of gifts for girlfriends there and have been very pleased with the quality and value of each gift. They also have an unusual selection of unique cards that are refreshing.
