I love going for high tea and especially to treating folks that haven't been before. There aren't many tea room choices in the area, so I was willing to give Pink Bicycle a try. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant because I checked the reviews shortly before my visit, and they were varied, some of which were just downright discouraging.

But I appeal to you to give Pink Bicycle a chance, or another chance if you've been before. My friend and I were very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's older, a bit small, but such is the experience of quaint tea rooms all over the world. Your order may take time, but a tea experience like this is meant to be taken in at a slow pace over good conversation with your company, etc. If anything, we were the ones holding up our own order because we were busy catching up. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the owner, Ms. Lisa made frequent appearances. The scones were baked in-house and accompanied with delicious curd and cream. The salad and soup were delightfully tasty, as well as the varied finger sandwiches. We left completely satisfied. So much so, that I told the staff as well as Ms. Lisa that I was very pleasantly surprised to find that my experience was nothing like that mentioned in some of the previous reviews. I plan to go back tomorrow with another newbie and I'm looking forward to another great experience. If you can find a valid coupon, go for it!

I would have to agree with those who notice that 'shabby' far outweighs anything remotely chic. The interior is in great need of cleaning and updating. The service was VERY slow, and the bits of food and one 'choice' of tea were substandard at best. Having hosted a shower there, and being the guest at another, I was dismayed both times with the lack of quality provided by this establishment.

This is the most charming and delightful tea room I have ever been too espcially for a bridal shower. When you enter the air is filled with the fresh baked scones which are to die for. We had a wonderful variety of tea sandwhichs ranging from a flavorful chicken salad made with Mango Chutney and apples and my favorite was the bacon and sundried tomato spread on a rye crostini. Definitely will make a point to come back.

Was informed that we would need to prepay for our group, but very after a week of not being able to get anyone by phone to do so we were told we didn't have to (after many people had already paid)

I arrived to see a garden full of sad broken china shards, which at one point might have been a nice garden. What could have been a Mad Hatter's Disney-esque scene was much more horror film/Tim Burton's tea party.

I entered the establishment and found the party I was meeting. We had reservations, but them didn't seem to know that we had so many people (we booked for 4 more than turned up)

The interior was rather sad, not really shabby chic so much as plain shabby. The mismatched tea service was cute, but the mismatched industrial office building chairs and tables were not.

The menu promises a selection of teas, the selection is apparently up to the owner, we were not asked what we would like. It took over 20 minutes to get a pot of tea, and each pot there after.

We ordered the Lady Belle Tea at 30.48 each with Tax and tip. Our party spent well over $400 and in return we received very little in the way of tea or nibbles. Each person received what amounted to a single sandwich (one of the sandwiches didn't even have filling, just a single swipe of a dressing. The desert selection was rather poor and obviously not very fresh. The scones were fresh and nice, but nothing special.

Bathrooms were equally shabby, though seemed clean enough.

Overall the staff was friendly, but not very efficient. We were told that our wait for food was so long because they had to make more sandwiches, but for how little in the way of food there was I'm surprised.

Overall I won't be going here again.

My mother & sister were in town for my daughter's college graduation. I wanted to take them to tea because they'd never done that before. After reading many reviews I chose the Pink Bicycle Tea Room. That was a mistake! I was thoroughly embarrassed and disappointed by my choice. The exterior was shabby and in need of a paint job. I understand the 'historical' location, but please. The interior was atrocious. The carpet in the tea room was absolutely filthy, the bathroom was a nightmare and the room you have to pass through to get to the tea room was cluttered. We each had the 'Queen's Tea' at $25.00/person. The owner's 'blend' of tea that I chose was tasteless. My mother had the Cinnamon Orange Spice and found it to be palatable. All the food came directly from Costco, with the excepti... (more)on of the buttermilk scone which seemed to be homemade. The creamy tomato soup was topped with dried parsley flakes. I expected petit fours and there were none. The service was extremely SLOW! We were the only patrons and it took forever. I even had a reservation which the owner did not seem aware of. The tea service is totally eclectic, nothing matches. I'm convinced the napkins came from various yard sales. Maybe I expected too much, but when you drop $100.00 (w/tip) for afternoon tea, you expect to be satisfied and neither I nor my party were satisfied. PLEASE REPLACE THE CARPET IF NOTHING ELSE!
