I have been a regular customer of your facility since 1985. Have seen a lot of changes over the years, but I can honestly state that there has been no changes in the Staff

I know that I want to take my furry kids back on a visit in VA some day, just to say hello. That's how much I liked the people there.

I had been taking my two dogs and one cats to this animal hospital for several years and have to say that I have been very happy with the treatment and care overall and with the way the staff interacted with us.\nThe staff at this animal hospital has been very nice, too. The same as for the doctors applies here..all were very nice people.

Everyone at Stafford Animal Hospital is awesome and they really care about the animals. I board my dog as well as use them for vet services. My dog hates to be boarded unless he is at the Stafford animal hospital so I know they are taking extra special care of him. I would recommend this animal hospital

The staff at Stafford Animal Hospital was great. They were very kind and gentle to my pet and everyone there seemed to genuinely care for each animal. They were very professional and I will definitely take my pet there in the future for any/all of her needs.

I typically do not write reviews but feel compelled to do so now.

We recently took an older cat to the clinic because she was not feeling well, throwing up, etc. The first day we spent $135 for tests and an exam. We were told she would be needing fluids and kept overnight. This cost another $500 with antibiotics and vitamins. We were told this would be necessary for her to survive. We had to call the next day to see how she was doing, the vet did not call. When she was returned we noticed she was not breathing well. We called and were asked to bring her back for more testing which we declined. She died 2 days later.

I called and left a message for the vet to call us back which he did not. After 2 days I finally got him on the phone. He explained that she was in poor health with numerous conditions and was not able to survive the "treatment". I asked if she was in such poor health why were the tests and treatments performed, why didn't we put her to sleep peacefully? He explained that all his actions were justified and necessary and we had been told of the risks, which we were not. He said if we were not told then it must have been a lack of communication. (What?)

We lost our pet that had been a fixture at our business since 1996 and she will be missed by us as well as our customers. I am not sure exactly why she died, but I do know the cold and insensitive demeanor of the vet will not be forgotten.

I hope that the testing and treatment was needed and we were not taken advantage of in a sympathetic moment. I will never be sure. What I am sure of, is that I will never take another one of my animals to this establishment.

I had been taking my two dogs and one cats to this animal hospital for several years and have to say that I have been very happy with the treatment and care overall and with the way the staff interacted with us. In the very beginning (several years ago) I encountered one vet, who I found to be shockingly insensitive to the pain of one of my dogs, when he treated him for an already painful condition. I considered right then going somewhere else but decided to give it one more try, asking for a another person instead. This vet was already gone, when I went back for a follow up. Why, I do not know. Coincidence.
I have met and dealt with different vets over time and all were very caring, took their time and certainly tried to help as much as they could. They did not all have the same approach to certain conditions, which is not uncommon, and some may have been more personable than others. Some went to other offices, which is not uncommon either, because they never intended to stay forever, or left to be closer to family. To me, there is no doubt that my dogs and my cat have received very good treatment here. Unfortunately, sometimes it is simply beyond a vet's capabilities to perform the wished miracle, and for the owner of a furry friend this very hurtful and personal - beyond the tragic loss of a pet. I am a person, who "gets sick" when one of my furry kids shows the slightest sign of a medical problem. My husband always wants to give me a pill first, and then take care of our pet...so to speak. However, if ever something will go wrong, I do not think that we have the right to condemn the vet for this right away, unless there was proof of a lack of appropriate treatment. Sure, I will doubt everything, but that's just the way I am...and I know that.
The staff at this animal hospital has been very nice, too. The same as for the doctors applies here...some are friendlier and chattier than others, but all were very nice people. Everyone has a job to do and personalities are different as well.
I think it is important to communicate as good as possible with the vets (anywhere) but also show patience (I am not a very patient person) and realize that they have their hands full and we are not the only ones bringing patients over. Of course, I would like to see anyone drop everything else and tend to my pet, but we have to be realisitc. If I felt that something was wrong in the way things were being handled then I think this should be voiced to the people involved. Too often it is the easier route to circumvent that part, go somewhere else, and then lash out in some form.
If there is a definite problem of mishandling, then one has the right to voice that. I think the questions I would ask myself is after calming my own upset "is there a real pattern or am I seeing things too subjectively? Is this so bad that I need to file an official complaint?" I will not hesitate to report someone to the authorities, if there was a grave case of mishandling (of the treatment and/or the animal) but I have to back it up.
We moved 4 hours away from Stafford last year, and despite the distance I tried to keep these vets. It did not work out for different reasons, none of which stemmed from any possible problem with the S.A.H.
I know that I want to take my furry kids back on a visit in VA some day, just to say hello. That's how much I liked the people there.

My sister brought her newly adopted dog with a bad dental condition. Even after showing the staff the adoption paperwork, they still treated my sister as though she had simply chosen to neglect the condition as was therefore responsible for the condition. I brought my 4 year old blind dog in for a visit when she hurt her knee, then brought her back for a follow up. The first time went well and I had no complaints. The second time, the vet tech (who ostensibly had gone through some actual medical courses to become certified), after reading "blind" at the top of her chart, was astounded when my dog responded to hearing her name called: "She can hear?!?!?" When I responded that the dog was merely blind, not deaf, she seemed surprised. The DVM was different this visit and, while I wasn't unhappy with his care, I much preferred the other doctor who, I was later told, is no longer there. Were the other DVM still there, I'd probably still be bringing my animals there. As such, I'm looking elsewhere.

If you read reviews for Stafford animal hospital you will see most of them are positive. These reviews refer to routine check ups and shots that are common place in regards to day to day care of a pet. If you are planning on utilizing the services of this business for more complicated procedures I would give you this piece of advice. Buyer beware...after going there for a routine operation for my dog and I were forced to return 2 more times due to complications. Even after I informed staff members that an infection had set in I was ignored and patronized by the Vet. They attempted to shift the blame back on to me for their lack luster care and medical advice. Only after seeking the care of another vet did my dog receive proper treatment. The vet tech/nurse staff is friendly and helpful however I have no confidence when it comes to the skill of the Doctors who work at this facility. I would never take another pet to these people or recommend them to anyone else.
