Greenbrier Veterinary Clinic

i absolutely love Dr. Walter! He is the best vet I have met in a long time, and when you move around like I do, good people are hard to find. The service is a little bit pricier than other vets, but my animals always get a thorough examination. Its not an assembly line to him, its a patient. He takes the extra time and effort to answer any questions or concerns you might have, and also infoms you about any information you might not have been aware of. He is an expert with animal allergies, esp. when animals just cant get over the Virginia weather. His allergy meds have been a blessing for my chihuahua. As from reading previous comments, the reason he does not let you touch your animals for shots or blood work is a safety concern for YOU. Some idiots just dont get things. If you are someone who treats your animals like they are your kids (as I do), and want the best for them, i highly recommend trying this vet!

To date...
Overall, we had a decent experience. The vet is thorough in his explanations, although perhaps a bit long-winded.

We have traveled all over the nation and I would rate this vet as average. The information he provides is sound. The assistant's technique for soothing the animal and involving the owner needs some attention. While I was able to reassure my pet with a hands-on approach, the assistant wasn't very accommodating.

Sadly, the products we purchased were quite expensive. We later researched the product and found that the medication was almost $40 less if you purchased it on-line.

The vet ended the appointment with a nice treat for the dog. My dog never eats treats when stressed, and she devoured this one. Now that should tell you a lot.

Based on the referral from my pet-sitter (Fetch!), I have made an appointment with this vet. So far, I'm impressed with the waiting room and the staff.

This is different from Greenbrier Veterinary Emergency Center off of Eden by the mall.
I took my dog in for his annual shots and he traumatized my dog. First of all he had his assistant hold my dog down in order to get some blood and give him his shots. He would not even let me near my dog and in fact told me to move away when I tried to comfort him. When it was over, my dog hid, trembling behind me, trying to get as far away as possible from this vet. So if you find out the vet is Dr. Walter, don't take your dog there!!!

i also used this vert when my dog had been injured late in the afternoon. it was too late to take him to the regular vet, so we headed out to this one instead. the staff was very gentle and my dog was at ease and they saved him from a nasty infection.

We used this vet hospital once late at night. My dog had an accident which made him have to stay overnight. The doctor explained all of their procedures thoroughly and with sympathy. They called us regularly at work and home with updates on his condition. It has a warm and welcoming feeling right when you walk in the front door (even in the middle of the night!) It is too far for us to use for our regular vet office. But, we would not hesitate to go again if needed for the hospital services.

This is the veterinary clinic that provided by kittens surgery. The staff was very friendly and displayed a caring attitude. My cat seemed relaxed with the staff, thus my nerves were eased.
