REI is a chain store that sells anything you can possibly want or need for a variety of outdoor activities, such as camping, fishing, canoeing, climbing, and so on. They are a co-op type of store, so you can join them for a lifetime membership fee and get profit share at the end of the year. This particular location is fairly new and located in the Fairfax Corner Shopping Center. The parking is an absolute nightmare, and it is almost guaranteed that you will have to walk a long way to/from your car. The store is very big, and all specialized products are organized by activity with large signs. It is fairly easy to find the things you are looking for. The Customer Service Desk and the Cash Registers are conveniently located near the entrance, so it is very easy to get to if you just need to return something real quick. I still enjoy shopping at this store, despite of the parking situation. After a few other independent camping stores went out of business, this is the one place we would go to get our gears and supplies.

PROS: Wide variety of outdoor activity goods, good sale prices.
CONS: Not enough parking spaces.
