I go all the time to stock up on cheese, olives, and other yummy arabic food. Everyone is so nice there and I always am so happy to see everyone when I go. You can get everything you need there for your international kitchen. The owner is so friendly--helping the shoppers and the community.
Thanks!
I have been going to Aphrodite for 18 yeas. The owners are an Egyptian man and his Greek wife. They have a wide variety of Greek and Middle Eastern foods, both fresh, frozen, dried, and cannedThe husband and his wife are very friendly. You can sample any of the cheeses, both Greek and Egyptian Gibna Roomy. They are the only Middle Eastern Grocery store where you can buy home made Basterma, a type of pastrami that is famous throughout the Middle East. They also have fresh pastries depending on the time of year and various feasts. The store is never empty, and the clientele are a mix of Greek speaking people as well as Arabic speaking people.I have never had a bad experience with any product I have bought there. We live in Vienna, so it is a bit of a drive, but worth it.
This store has been owned by a mid east man for several years now. It is no longer owned by Greeks. The guy is so ridiculously rude. I bought an item there & i got home & it was broken. I went to exchange it and before I even got a word in to tell him whether I wanted to buy one or expected free replacement he went off on me. He asusmed I broke it and wanted to blame the store. The item was cracked & neither the store or myself could tell this as it was tightly wrapped & taped. When i took it home the crack got bigger & damaged the item that's all. Everything they sell you cna buy online not worth the drive to Falls Church.
