Judith's Boutique and Professional Alteration

I wouldn't trust my dress with anyone else. My dress is very detailed, covered in lace with a cathedral train and i was afraid I would have a hard time finding someone who could shorten the lenth a little. Judith did a GREAT job and you CANT even tell it was ever even altered. Not to mention she is quick, and gives great advice. I really feel like she cares about her clients and really goes that extra mile. You will not be disappointed!!

I took my dress to Judith because I thought the bottom of the dress looked plain and boring. I wanted to add pickups so I emailed her and spoke to her on the phone. When I arrived, she started to show me what she thought would look good. And it was perfect! I absolutely love my dress now! She did a perfect job! She is also very caring and has helpful advice for brides to be! I would highly recommend her.

What does a bride do when she tries on her wedding gown three weeks before her destination wedding and it doesn't fit? She goes straight to Judith's Boutique and Professional Alteration.

I was fighting back the tears when I called Judith. my dress wouldn't zip up all the way because I gained weight. I was sure, with the wedding so close, she was going to tell me there was no way she could help me and that I should go out and buy a new dress--but she didn't. Within seconds of my putting the dress on she told me not to worry because we have a lot of options. She showed me how we could let out the sides, and because the neckline would be lower with the added room, we could add a modesty panels. I was skeptical at first, but she went in the other room and came back with some pieces of white silk and pinned it to the neckline, showing me how she could mimic some detail at the waist, and use some fabric from my very long train so everything matches perfectly. I almost cried out of happiness then.

The next week I had two more fittings, to get everything just right, and I am thrilled to say that the dress fits perfectly, and after her artistry at the neckline, I love the look of my dress even more than I did when I bought it.

Bottomline--forget high priced bridal shop tailors who can't match your vision. Go to a true expert who specializes in making brides look and feel beautiful in their wedding gown. Go to Judith's Boutique and Professional Alterations.

I went to Judith's to get wedding dress alterations on a dress that I bought online (4 sizes too big). I was very disappointed with the dress, but when Judith was done altering it, I absolutely loved it!! Judith not only does a GREAT job, but she also gives very meaningful and thoughtful advice. She is a real pleasure to work with.

Judith is really quick and flexible too! She was ready with the first alteration in several days!

I would recommend Judith to anyone!

I recently had weight loss surgery and had to order my bridesmaid dress just 1 week after the surgery (swollen post-op), for a wedding 6 months away. When I tried it on and couldn't even get it over my hips I was crazy stressed. I found Judith on line, and took the dress to her with the simple instructions, "make it look good." Judith was patient, and had the dress completed within 2 days of the last fitting. She did a wonderful job, I will be wearing the dress this weekend, and I'm sure that the bride is going to be very happy with the way that it looks!

After spending way too much money at the Bridal Closet for them to do a horrible job on hemming my dress I brought it to Judith to fix. She is so compassionate, caring, and concerned so saw me immediately and offered me many suggestions to fix the dress. One week later it was done, fit me perfectly, and actually made me feel excited for my wedding day. Judith offers the utmost in customer service, is very easy to get a hold of, and is highly skilled in alterations. On top of how incredible Judith is she also doesn't price gauge although she did such an amazing job I wanted to pay her more. The best seamstress in the metro area!

I found my perfect dress for our destination wedding at David's Bridal. Although the dress was the right fit, I still needed to get alterations done. I have done some research on the internet on alteration services and came across Judith's Boutique and Professional Alteration. I recently had my wedding gown altered by Judith Woods at Judith's Boutique in Vienna, VA. I received friendly, quick, and skilled service. I would definitely recommend her to a friend. I was worried that I was cutting it close with less than two months until my wedding, but she finished in plenty of time!

Prices are reasonable, and Judith knows what she's doing.

Judith is incredible! She is talented, professional, and creative. I bought a wedding gown on clearance at David's with the intention of finding a seamstress to alter the shape of the dress completely. The dress was originally A-line with a substantial amount of tool at the bottom to make a poufy bubble bottom, but I wanted more of a form-fitting fit and flare style. I found Judith's here on weddingwire.com and her reviews were so great that I thought I'd give her a try. Of course I was nervous to take my dress to be totally redesigned without having any previous experience with Judith, but after just a few minutes of talking to her I knew I had made a great decision. She was patient and listened to me explain exactly what I wanted and she quickly shared my vision. Judith was absolutely wonderful. I ended up having to order my princess cut dress in a size 4. When Judith saw it on me she said it was 2 sizes too big. Her alterations made the dress fit like a glove and kept the integrity of all the detailing. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone very professional and accommodating.

Judith was recommended to me when I was looking for an alteration shop to add a bustle and make other slight alterations to my wedding dress. I could not be more pleased with the service and the alterations. She is extremely personable and very professional. The alterations were done within a week and were very reasonably priced. The final outcome was PERFECT. She will also be doing the alterations for my mom's MOB dress and my sister's bridesmaid dress. I would recommend Judith to any bride, or anyone in need of alterations on a formal dress.

I came in with my sister, who is having her bridal gown re-designed, to have my bridesmaid dress taken in at the bust. Judith was patient and listened to what we each wanted and was extremely creative in suggesting ways to get the job done.

My bridesmaid dress only needed to be taken in at the bust, but I also brought a wool overcoat and a pair of slacks for Judith to look at. The coat needed a new liner and taken down a size. When I got all three back, it was as if I had bought new clothes! Judith fitted all three items perfectly, and gave the coat a more modern look. Her stitching is practically invisible and the changes she made on the coat look natural to the new form. I'm more excited to wear it now than I was three years ago when I bought it! :)

I bought my dress elsewhere and decided to use Judith based on great reviews I found online. I was never really in love with my dress to begin with, and I originally took it to Judith to have a bustle put in. However, Judith could tell I didn't really care too much about my dress, so she offered suggestions as to how the dress could be altered. The dress began as an off-the-shoulder dress with the back slightly below my shoulder blades, and is now a beautiful strapless with a sweetheart neckline and a dropped back. And I LOVE it! I never had any doubts that Judith would be able to do all that she said. Judith is really confident and makes it easy to entrust your dress to her. And she works quickly, and she's extremely affordable! I would recommend Judith to anyone in the Northern VA/DC area - she's worth it!

I bought my wedding dress off the Internet and of course it needed some alterations. I found Judith's Boutique and Professional Alteration on the Internet and saw that she accepts alterations on wedding dresses purchased elsewhere.

I took my wedding dress to Judith and she made all the alterations in 2 weeks, and I only needed the one fitting because everything she did was perfect the first time. Thanks Judith! Her prices are also extremely reasonable, definitely a plus for any budget-conscious bride!

I also made some modifications to the design of my dress, and Judith helped me figure out what to do (and kept me from doing too much). She's definitely a professional and very good at bridal alterations and even design. I would definitely recommend Judith for any alterations, especially bridal alterations.

I bought my wedding dress from David's Bridal, and even though I loved my dress, I wasn't thrilled with the customer service. I decided I'd try to find someone else to do my alterations, and if it saved me some money too, so much the better. I found Judith's from an ad on Craig's List, and thank God! She did a fantastic job altering my dress and did the job really quickly too! From what I remember about the alterations price list on the dressing room wall at David's, she also did it for a lot less than David's would have charged me. If you need a fancy dress altered, I'd HIGHLY recommend taking it here :)

This alteration place is great! I had a bridesmaid dress I thought needed serious alterations to fit my bust. Judith knew the best way to fix it all, and did it fast. She even made suggestions for future alterations if I want to wear for another event.

Judith handled alterations on two complicated formal gowns -- one a very hard to work with chiffon, the other a too-small expensive wool dress. The alterations were handled very quickly and expertly, without an exorbitant price tag. Judith is very friendly and willing to do everything possible to make sure her customers are happy -- very rare to find in the DC Area these days. I would highly recommend Judith for any alteration needs!

Another shop botched the alterations on my bridesmaid gown. The alterations made the dress so tight that I couldn't even lift up my arms! With only 4 days before my sister's wedding, I went to Judith's, in a complete state of panic. Judith reassured me that all was not lost. She not only corrected the botched alteration, she also made additional alterations. The result: the dress looked and fit great. She did this in just one day! She is so talented and accommodating. I can't say enough about how great her work is. It is rare today to find someone who truly understands customer services. I highly recommend Judith!

Judith was awesome! She not only made my (too small) dress fit, she made it seamless as if it always fit me perfectly. She was also open to making any other changes to the dress that I wanted.

She even went the extra mile (without me even having to ask her to do so) to add some touches to the panel she had to add in order to "hide" the extra material needed to make the dress fit me. It make my dress even more beautiful!

Also, she was always friendly and offered honest, helpful advice! I would definitely recommend using her!

I found Judith when looking up reviews for local alteration stores. With one week until leaving for a wedding, I came to realize my dress was way too small. Everyone else I called made me feel like it was hopeless. I just luckily came across Judith's name and saw her reviews so I thought I'd give her a call. She calmed me down and put me at such ease that she could fix my dress within my limited amount of time- no problem! When I arrived and was so upset, her calm and friendly nature made me feel at ease. I just picked up my dress and couldn't be happier with the outcome. If you need something altered- something even as important as your wedding or bridesmaid dress- you should give her a call. I know I will be going back to her again. She was a lifesaver!!

I needed some alterations done for my wedding dress, bridesmaid, jr. bridesmaid, flower girl and mother of the bride dresses. Judith was very flexible and very patient with us. Judith,You saved the day !!!! Thank you so much for making my dress look so beautiful. My dress arrived 2 weeks prior to my wedding date completely wrinkled not to mention, it did not even look like the dress I ordered. You were so caring and understating and helped my dress look just like the the designer dress from St. Pucci. You responded quickly and completed my dress in a timely manner. My best friend, or should I say my ex best friend was getting married and I was her maid of honor. My dress that i ordered..was ordered in the wrong size, it being too small. I was freaking out and I didnt know were to go to get it fixed, since I only had a week and a half to get it fixed. I went back to the bridal shop where I got, and they wouldnt do alterations for free, I would have to pay a hundred plus to get it fixed and it would take up to two weeks. I called the bride to be and told her what was going on and she gave me the number for Judiths Boutique and Alterations. She told me that she was extremely good and did her dress. I called and got an appt a few days later and the appt. only took a a half hour. I got my dress back in a week and it looked perfect. Needless to say..the wedding was a disaster, but at least I looked awesome. I recommend this shop for anyone. She is amazing!

With only 4 days until my wedding day, Judith came to my rescue. Due to circumstances,the wedding dress came in at the very last minute, in one night, Judith was able to get my dress ready and have it fit perfectly!! My fiancee purchased her gown on line so, we were looking for someone to alter her gown.We found Judith's boutique on the net search and we read her review she was highly recommended by her previous clients. We went to Judith's for the alteration and she alter her gown in within a week and the quality of her work is excellent we are glad that we used a professional to help us to make our wedding as happy as we plan to be for our memorable day. Judith really fixed my dress perfectly! It was only a few days before my wedding and I was in such a panic. I tore my dress while trying it on at my house and it was only a couple days before my wedding. I called everywhere but no one would do the job so quick. When I called Judith she made an appointment right away. She completely fixed my dress perfectly!!! Even with all the beading She did an excellent Job! I recomend Judith to anyone needing alteration work.

I found Judith's Alteration by chance when searching for a place to have my bridesmaid dress altered for a wedding in 2006. I had such a pleasant experience, I had no difficulty in deciding to go back when it was time to select a gown for my own wedding. The shop owner, Judith, has lots of experience working with brides and has tons of advice and information about weddings in generally and specifically in the DC-metro area. Because Judith is so easy to talk to, with every visit to the shop, both pre- and post-wedding, I felt welcomed and at-ease. Judith also performs alterations and made herself available to have my mom's dress altered the day before the wedding - talk about stress relief! I doubt that I could have found a better shop to take care of me and my needs.

I called Judith for Alteration Questions she answered it professionally on each and every questioned I asked without hesitation,she knew exactly what I meant.My gown arrived late Monday before the wedding Judith was able to finished my alteration on allover beaded gown by Magie Sotero.It needed hem, bustle & take up the shoulder. I picked the gown the next morning my gown was professionally done and fit just as I wanted. I highly recommend Judith's Alteration to all Brides To B's.

We had a great experience with judiths alterations. There were many dresses and styles to choose from and many designer gowns and dresses that are so beautiful. The alterations judith made on the dress and tuxedos were perfectly done. We thank Judith for going above and beyond what was required of her.
