We had a home inspection that wrote up the A/C installation that was done by a company that TE Young bought out (improproper installation). Found out that TE young had bought rights to customers but was not bound by their work. Called the owner, Ben, who said that he would come out and check the work for $50 service call. He came out himself to find that it was installed correctly and did not charge a service call. I have read the writeups by others and believe Ben is trying to help people out. He was not bound to help on this, but did agree to help.

I had a new unit installed 30 days ago. The unit is leaking water from the condensate pan on to my ceiling and has caused damage. I tried to report this problem on a Friday afternoon at 3:05- apparently T.E. Young takes off early on Friday for a long weekend. I could not get anyone to return my call. I called back repeatedly thinking there was something wrong with the phone. It is now Saturday morning and after calling at 9:30 and leaving another message I still have not heard from a technician even though the message says that you will get a call back in an hour. This is not the kind of service I expected. I am VERY dissatisfied.

Ben Young was too busy to return phone calls when the new instalation went amuck. He did however find the time to talk when the repair bill, for damage caused by T.E. Young employees, came due. His primary concern was if the repair cost could be negotiated down, not if all problems had been fixed.
Word of mouth made T.E. Young, just as word of mouth will destroy T.E. Young if something is not done to improve customer service.

further more, to all basing there decision on a new comfort system should seek Local and state contractor records including a grade from local 3 rd parties. The last I checked on this contractor Hybrid Air- Ben Young had a grade of A+ and not to mention has thrived his fathers business to great sucess!

When you researech someones name, ask for references and referals , slandering someones name means nothing to me , i have to first be shown proof . Once again Outstanding Business man and family man from the years working with Ben Young. He will take care of professionaly and will be more detailed than any other you call out.

3 Years ago I purchased a complete Trane System replacement for my house and was given 1 year of free service calls which resulted in a spring and fall cleaning and checkup for both the indoor and outdoor units. The service was great, they had a check list of items to check and they sold us on having a maintenance contract for the next 2 years. This last year the maintenance was junk! The spring maintenance wasn't by the check list and was at most 20 minutes. I figured it was the Technician and let it pass. MISTAKE! The fall service took 15 minutes a nut driver and a can of spray cleaner. The Tech did not check the freon level, amperage draw, or any of the important items that were pointed out when the service plan was sold to me. I did not renew my service plan. This prompted a call from the maintenance manager Dawn who proceeded down the road of "if the maintenance was not done the warranty would be void" so I would have to have a Trane authorized dealer do the maintenance. No problem there are many to choose from and this may be to the down fall of T. E. Young Heating and Cooling in Chesapeake Virginia. Beware they will sell you a bill of goods.

I chose T. E. Young based on Mr. Young's reputation. Unfortunatly, Mr. Young has let his son Ben run the business. I was not please with their installation. They left the return air disconnected. I told them there was cold air coming in from the return. BEN said that was "normal" without even coming out to check it. I insisted his dad come check the problem. After some runaround, they showed up and found the return disconnected. I had been sucking in crawl space air from day one. Ben is a very rude, immature person. I'm sorry Mr. Young's hard earned reputation and business is going to be destroyed by his son. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY AT ALL. I will not even call them for any warranty issues as I do not trust Ben can competently handle any issues. He is only concerned with getting the sale; quality and support comes a far second as long as he gets his initial sale.

WE CALLED THESE GUYS WHEN THEY WERE FIRST GETTING OUT THERE AND THEY WERE ON TOP OF THE JOB FROM THE VERY BEGINING. VERY DETAIL ORIENTED AND FAIRLY PRICED. WE HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN OVER THE YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PLEASED.
