Yes the homes are older, and it's clear that shortcuts have been used in maintaining the homes. For example my facets occasionally drip and the drains have been known to clog, fixtures are older and could use a face lift.
However a little extra energy has been put into the outside with a large and well kept parking lot with shrubbery lining the front of every town home with large open grassy areas, paved sidewalks and fenced in backyards. One of my favorite things about this place is the high powered street (or yard) lights that make me feel safe at night when I'm walking to my front door at 3 in the morning.
In fact safety and a good price were the biggest selling points for me. When looking for a place to rent we could only afford to spend around $700 a month on at least a two bedroom. We looked at just about every complex in the area. Richmond's south side had the most affordable housing but it also failed to provide a sense of security. Old bridge was just about the only place that was the right price and also felt safe.
After two years of living here I have some gripes about the age of the house and the tenancy for things to break (which is usually repaired in less then a week often by the next day) but the neighbors are friendly, children are often playing outside and i think its an affordable place where i can raise my daughter

this place is a terrible, backwards place to live. They dont care about their tenants, only making money! this apartment complex is paid for three times over and they wont do any renovations but will charge the "cost of living" in the apartments and take forever to make repairs. yes it looks new from the outside but ont he inside these units are falling apart. The BBB should be called or the health inspector or the va renters commsion if theree is such a place.

I live next to this apartment. The community is very quiet and people are nice to you. The apartment looks new from outside and it is pet friendly also. There are around 100-150 town house units and each have their own fence yard. They decorated the gate with colorful flowers. The parking is off street uncovered, but spacious.
