Sharp Shopper

Sharp Shopper in Harrisonburg is just about the best friend your grocery budget can have. $50 - $60 buys what $125 won't quite touch in a regular grocery store. The secret is that Sharp Shopper sells mostly overstocks. Do be wary, though, because it's easy to miss that something is well past it's sell by date.

I only give a very good instead of a world class because you have to be careful of the expiration dates. Sharp Shopper Rocks! I love this place. I go every single time I come home to visit my family. I bring coolers just in case there's something great in the freezer or refrigerated sections and there usually is. I brought home boxes of Tyson breaded chicken breasts this weekend for .99 a box, compared to around $4.89 here in Greensboro for the same box. I have friends who didn't believe me because there's nothing like it here. Well, we all went up to my hometown for a festival and I took them to Sharp Shopper. We now plan day trips to go there (200 miles away) and fill the back of the van with coolers. The last time, we brought back so much that one of the girls was using a case of dog food for a foot rest all of the way home. There were only three of us and the van was packed to the brim and I don't believe any of us spent more than $100. I know I didn't even spend that much. You never know what will be there. Sometimes there seems to be everything you might want and then the next week that stuff is sold out and there's something completely different in it's place. You won't find a bunch of shelves, most of the canned goods are in open boxes on pallets, but they are stacked well and it's easy to maneuver in the wide aisles. Go, go, go. It will be great for your budget.

This is a very unique store. It mainly has grocery store items with a little bit of extra stuff thrown in. (Ex. Candles, toys etc) You never know what you will find when you go in!
Most of the items are overstocks from the larger stores, damaged (such as dents) or close to expiration. You need to be careful with the exp dates; some may have already expired. They have great prices and lots of pantry staples that you can stock up on.

Shop Shopper is a great little store that gets slightly damaged and overstocked goods. They are deeply reduced and their inventory changes weekly. They are just like a grocery store. Alot of times I will stock up on what they have since the prices are so much less than the grocery stores. They are good too if you have a large family or if you are poor like me! Its fun too going there sometimes they have NEWLY released items that are discounted and you can try them before they get to the chain stores!! Its fun go there!!
