This place has great food, and prices that wont break the bank. The service is awesome ,the staff is so polite and friendly. I get the sushi more than anything else, but when I do get something else the portions are large very filling. The building isn't pretty, but with beauty come outrageous cost. So if your looking for great food with the best prices in town stop in for a bite. Gonna miss this place when I move in a few years

This has to be the worst "Japanese" restaurant of all time.
I asked the waitress to recommend their best seller and was advised to order the Chicken Terriaki.
I could not believe that the CT was the best seller because it was the worst thing I have ever had.
On top of the disgusting food, the service was lousy.
I have to say, with all of my heart; I HATE ICHIBAN

I was excited to eat Japanese food tonight and did a walk in into a local Japanese resteraunt in the Oceana area. Right off the bat I was surprised at how bleak and humble the interior was? but I wasn't scared. I love a good 'home cooking' hole in the wall where I can't wait to leave so that I can just tell my friends and to come back, but this is NOT THAT PLACE! My shrimp tempura appetizer was merely a fried shrimp straight from the bag into the fryer. The sushi was okay? I have had better but I also have had worse. The service was very poor (never received plates for my sushi, never receieved my orderd beer and never had a refill on my guests tea) but I was willing to sacrifice good service for good food...but..
There "famous teriyaki" was cat food smothered in Oyster and Hoysen sauce. I could not believe what they had served; bite size nibbles of chicken pan fried and thrown in a bland teriyaki sauce with maybe 1/4c of sliced onion and 3 broccoli heads (3, I counted). This was the worst thing I HAVE EVER ORDERED, so for the first time in my life, I returned it, or atleast attempted to.
I have worked in the restaurant industry for many years and the one common denominator of all those restaurants were customer satisfaction. If a guest did not enjoy what they had ordered, they could either return the dish or switch it out for something else. So when I returned my Chicken Teriyaki I expected for them to be understanding and gladly let me choose something else that I could enjoy, but the management of Ichiban would not let this happen. Because this was their "famous Teriyaki" and have never heard of a complaint before they refused me to exchange it for something else and accused me of being too full to eat any more and that I was trying to cheat my way out of paying for this meal. I was shocked.
I would never recommend this restaurant for anyone.
