Vanity Salon

From the moment I arrive at Vanity and am greeted by Tricia the Salon Manager (who is always friendly, welcoming and helpful) my experience with Gena is always great. Gena has been doing my hair for 18 years and from the first consultation through all the following ones over the years for new hairstyles, she has been professional, knowledgeable and sweet. I always feel Gena is totally focused on me and my cut/style so the end result is always great. Never feel rushed, always made to feel comfortable and relaxed.
When she has moved, I follow her to any location!

I believe that Lucas is a wonderful hair stylist. He always takes his time and does a great job. When I leave the chair, I know that my hair looks fantastic, because Lucas keeps up with the latest trends and products. I drive from Staunton, and Lucas is well worth the extra travel time and expense! I receive a lot of compliments on my hair, and I definitely give all the credit to Lucas!

After trying many stylists over the years, I found Lucas in Staunton, and I, too, have followed him to Vanity. He is simply the best, and I am always pleased with his work. I love the atmosphere at Vanity's new location in Charlottesville, and the entire staff is both professional and accommodating. I travel from Harrisonburg to have my hair styled, and would not dream of going anywhere else.

I highly reccommend both Lucas and Vanity.

Lucas has done my hair for over 10 years as I have followed him from Staunton to Charlottesville. He is an awesome stylist. The new salon is exceptional.

Greer has been doing my hair for 4 years now. she is amazing. she always does exactly what i ask for and every time it comes out flawless. i will not let anyone else touch my hair. so, thanks greer for making me beautiful!

I am a stylist in Gainesville Va. I drive all the way to see Greer to get my hair colored and cut(2 hours).I am very picky about who does my hair. I love the way she can get a beautiful blond!!! She really listens to what you want and takes her time. She had a great personality.

I wanted to donate my hair to Locks of Love, which would require a drastic hair cut (min of 10"). A friend referred me to Lucas at Vanity and I am SO PLEASED with the results. He was very professional and gave me exactly the cut I wanted. I've gotten nothing but compliments on my new look! Thank you Lucas!!!!

Lucas at Vanity ruined my hair. I asked for blunt cut page boy cut and he layered it all around, and then cut a large lock out of the side of the back. Then he burned my hair with a curling iron. His bad day will take years for me to grow out.

I recently went to Vanity to have my hair cut and colored, I was scheduled with Stephanie but when I got there they put me with Grier. I explained what I wanted done. I Have very light blonde hair and I like to keep the right off the beach look. She foiled my hair and after the processing was over,while she was cutting my hair I noticed that I still had roots! Not only on the underside but around the face and on the crown of my head! She assured me that once dry it will lighten up. Once dry it looked worse, and she also made my hair darker definitely not right off the beach. Their solution was to put bleach on the roots to lighten the look up. At this point I said no way. I don't live in the area and I was only there for the day with a client of mine so there was no way I was driving 2 hours back to them to fix it. Especially after the bleach suggestion. They did charge me for the cut, Which also was dreadful and chemicals. I this past weekend had to have my hair fixed by my regular hairstylist and it cost me all over again. I should not have been charged at all for the cut or chemicals and it took all my energy not to cry on the day of because I was with my client at the time. In the end make sure you like what you get what you pay for because I didn't!

I've been getting my hair done at Vanity for years. I lived out of town (3 hours away) for a long time but would come visit just to get my hair cut and colored by Gena, the owner of Vanity. All of her employees are highly trained and always exude confidence and professionalism. The staff is also very friendly and always makes me feel welcome. I would recommend any stylist in this salon to any and everyone!

I came to see the new place at the Ix Building and fell in love..the space is so beautiful..I love all the people there too.They are so real, not fake like other places I have been too.So I highly recommend it..

Like most women, I am very picky about the people i let touch my hair. For many years I would have one stylist and that was it. When she became ill and had to leave the business, I found myself wondering what I was gonna do. For a while I just let myself go.

About six months later I moved to the Charlottesville area. Knowing that I would never have my previous stylist, I felt the need to go on a hunt to find one that was just as good.

I did some research and found Vanity hair salon. I looked at their website to get more info and then decided to give them a call. Not only were they VERY pleasant, they were accomodating as well.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Margaret (my now permanent stylist). She immediatly brought me to her chair and got started. That's a HUGE plus in my book. I hate waiting, espeically when I have other things to do.

Not only did she do an AMAZING job, she also had coffee available (which was hot and fresh). That's a nice treat.

All the ladies there amke you feel like a queen. I was extremely comfortable with all the women, as well as their level of experience. I felt like I wasn't a customer, but a good friend.

I would give this place 50 stars if I could. I highly recommend them for all of your beauty needs!

PROS: friendly, experienced, very clean location
CONS: parking is behind the building
