The new facility is really nice; generally, I find the prices higher than in most other thrift stores.

The Manassas Salvation store is well decorated and stocked, but the prices are high. They would do better to realize that when donated merchandise is priced lower, it moves quickly and the overhead costs are less. They have a lot of clothes and very nice furniture, the problem is just with the high prices. But the biggest negative aspect of this store is the rude and unprofessional attitude exhibited by the store employees, especially starting 45 minutes before closing, at which time they are already rushing people out of the store. Although they close at 9:00, at 8:30 they are already turning off the lights and going through the store herding the customers toward the cash register. That practice is not only inconsiderate, but it creates a safety hazard situation as customers are left moving about the store under limited lighting.

I too have experienced nothing but rudeness from the workers at this store on several occasions when trying to drop off used items. I now only go there as a last resort. Good will accepts my donations with a smile and a grateful heart and provides a much more positive experience. They set a high example of what a store of this nature should be.

I have donated very good to excellent condition items with my sister there on FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS and have had the WORST EXPERIENCE! The same man is there to accept the donations each time and he is the MOST UNPLEASANT, RUDE MAN! I was not looking for a thank you, but I do not wish to be YELLED at because I get out of my car, or because I had the audacity to try to donate a computer, which they apparently do not accept. This man has not only yelled at me and my sister, but also yelled at the other people who were wishing to donate waiting in their cars. He spews his nastiness to everyone. We have contacted the Salvation Army's toll free line and the head quarters to report this man twice. We no longer donate to the Salvation Army and instead go to Goodwill where the people are at least CIVIL! Janice P. - No one donates to Salvation Army to seek GLORY!!! Give me a break! We all donate our items with the hope that someone who REALLY needs it can use it.

I just read Scott's review of the Salvation Army hub in Manassas, VA. I am sure they appreciated the donation, but maybe the workers were having an off day. I have been there a couple times to drop off things and folks were very nice to me. They even offered to take my stuff out of the car. I guess it depends on why we do things. I donate stuff so other folks who can't afford things "new" can buy them at a reasonable price. I don't seek glory or anything else. Plus, I live on a budget and find the prices quite reasonable. And there is always 25% off on Wednesdays!

The first two times I dropped bags of stuff - good stuff, worth hundreds of dollars - I noted that the guys helping didn't say "thank you" (the guys at the Goodwill store a little further down the road always do).

Today I came with two bags full again of hundreds of dollars of stuff I'm going to give them. I asked the guy if they had some place that I could dispose of the cardboard box that I carried the bags to my car in. He informed me that they probably had space but that he had other things to do than to worry about my box. I informed him that I would be taking this load and all future loads of goods to Goodwill instead.

I noted also one night that even though they had dozens of people working in this huge building in the dead of night, they had very constricted hours to drop things off and couldn't be bothered to even just put a bell or open a bay door or something. It seems to me that the Salvation Army in Manassas holds the people who feed it used goods in contempt.

Prices in this store are extremely high for used, donated items. Can find vintage clothing occasionally. Used furniture is also in this location. If you drop items off for donation after store hours - there are usually people in the parking lot going through the bags/boxes, so the sought after items don't even make it into the store.

I have found a few middle-of-the-line bags here at Salvation Army. Watch out because sometimes you can find money in the bags! The best bags that they have are ones that are in the display cases. I would watch out though because there
