My VW has 150K on it but never ran so well as when I switched to VWerks. I faithfully went to dealers for 5 years and was a very disgruntled owner, it never ran smoothly. VWerks immediately found all problems and fixed at a fair price. They have kept my car humming and I drive any distance with confidence. I have no doubt they understand my Passat much better than either of the two dealers I used to frequent (Rockville, Alexandria).

Very happy I found these guys. Excellent service, accurate quotation with no extras, work performed on time, received helpful summary of other work needed (along with quotations). Also near the Metro. What more could you ask? I will not hesitate to use these guys for my next Audi service and have recommended them to at least 5 Audi/VW friends.s

I heard a strange whining sound in the front of the car whenever I accelerated; this was a week after $2000 worth of work. I called VW and spoke with the counselor who helped us before who said to bring it by. Fearing the worst, I pulled up. He took it for a test drive right away, I asked to come along. He said, I'm pretty sure this is power steering. (That idea was so much less than the transmission or clutch.) We returned to store; he checked, and no power steering fluid! It took a very short time for the staff to isolate a leak in a hose which was solved by clamping(?) He then said the magic words, I'm not going to charge you for this, you just spent a LOT of money. Hope to see you back again. You bet I will recommend VW to my friends.

It would be helpful to clarify when and what service is recommended for routine maintenance in the future at the time car is retrieved.

The last time I was at Volkswerks (Spring
2010), the technician said the tread on
tires was low and I absolutely needed an
alignment service. If my car had actually
been inspected, the technician would have
noticed the brand new tires with less than
50 miles of wear on them. He even had the
nerve to walk me to my car and try to
convince me how the tread wasn't wearing
evenly. I can't even imagine the thousands
of dollars worth of other services that
Volkswerks had convinced me into purchasing
over the 5+ years when they had my business.

I always feel comfortable bringing my car to Volkswerks and that's important. I like having an alternative to the dealer.

If you have a VW or Audi, try to get your repairs done by VolksWerks....much less painful than the dealer! I would definitely recommend this business to a friend.

I don't know if all the great reviews are from friends or family member of the shop. But my experience was not the same at first everything seemed OK. I told them what I wanted done. Clear and simple. No run $112.00 why I don't know Its not like I went there without knowing the problem and they had to find. This $112 is a rip off. Then they were the tires, timing belt, arms controls, alignment. Simple replace axle grew to $1960.00. I was was so shocked. This place is worst than the dealer. On the phone they promise that they were better than the dealer. I listen to car talk and I laugh whenever they mention to the listener prepare to pay for the mechanic's boat. Well, I can believe that because I'll almost became one of the victims. You want honest and ease on your pocket good service for your German car go to German Auto Diagnostics in Sterling VA.

I used to work in a garage fixing cars (I'm an engineer now).
- This place is not so reliable. Although I had told them that I thought that I had a leak in my exhaust (giving O2 error codes), they re-flashed the ECU for $300 (which the VW dealer said did not exist!) and more work for nothing. It ended up being the flex joint on the exhaust pipe that was leaking... not to mention that it was obviously rusted. I only wish I had taken the time to look under the car a little bit better... So basically, I had to go twice to fix a problem with a leak in my exhaust which is pretty weak especially since I was pointing them in the right direction. Naturally, they don't refund you for all the unnecessary work done the first time...
- On other occasions, they changed parts that had nothing to do with the problem for a maintenance that I did not ask for and that I had already done myself (spark plugs, plug wires, oil...) replacing my synthetic oil with regular... I had not asked for all that work, but they gave me a 6 page estimate which included every screw. Since I did not have time to look at it, I asked them what was in addition to the work I was asking for which was the timing belt, water pump and serpentine belt and they said nothing (but there was a lot more and they charged me for all of it). When I complained, they only referred to the content of the 6 page estimate. It does not matter if they mislead you.
- Prices are also "dealer like".
- Basically, I see no reason to go back there after they charged me a lot for the work done and too much for unnecessary work on 3 occasions.
Basically, expensive, not that bright at fixing simple problems and not that honest (where did they get the flash program that the dealer said does not exist or why can't they be honest about the work they are going to do!).
- Oh and another thing, it did take about 2 weeks to get that problem fixed with the exhaust leak (had to bring it 2x, wait for parts before each pickup...).
- Basically, I really don't see anything where they are better than my local Shell garage (which is also in walking distance).
- I've been doing the work myself since then and I'm still looking for a place that can fix VW (for atypical problems) and that I don't have the time or the tools to fix myself (I don't work in a garage anymore).
- If you don't know such a place yourself, go to the dealership until yo do find a place that is less expensive and as knowledgeable, but Volkswerks s not the place.

This shop is great!! (Underline great). I have been in the area since May and have been feeling very overwhelmed by the number of choices in the area and very disappointed with the results. This shop came highly recommended from a local friend with an Audi. Compared to Curry's Auto, my quote for work needed was $4300 dollars less with these guys. $1800 of which was a clutch that I was told would make it only a couple of days by Curry's. These guys looked at it and said it didn't show wear or drive like it needed a new clutch. I got $200 worth of work done and the problem that I was told was a worn out clutch is now gone. GREAT customer service!

My Background: I own a Audi A4 1.8T. My last car shop was Gilson's in Sparks, NV. This move is a good fit for what I like, what I want, how I want to be treated and what is required to maintain an Audi.

I hope this helps.

I just had my car worked on and was so thrilled to find volkswerks, they have great customer service, friendly staff, good prices, they were patient when I asked a zillion questions and most importantly didn't suggest a whole list of things I didn't need. I've had plenty of bad experiences at the dealership so this was fabulous!!

Volkswerks is a small shop specializing in repairing/servicing Volkswagens in Falls Church.

They are a small business so they can only accept a limited number of customers per day and they do work rather slow at times. However, they do offer competitive prices, especially compared to dealers. They are very good at explaining the problem, but they are not always on task. For instance, I asked them to call me when they found out what the problem was, but I had to call them 2 or 3 times because they were very late in contacting me. They get their parts from the dealer so not everything is in stock and they are located in a very cramped area of Falls Church. However, they are friendly and is definitely a good alternative to expensive dealers. Be prepared to leave your car for at least a day though.

PROS: Good customer service, competitive price, good repair
CONS: Cramped location, not always timely, limited customers per day
