I'm so appreciative to the Patterson Avenue Child Care givers for all they've done for my little girl. I was looking for a place where children are ??cared?? for, a nurturing environment that not only allows them to be children, but one that also teaches and supports their developmental skills. I??m so glad that I found this and much more in Patterson Avenue Child Care. I was amazed at how quickly she transitioned into the new program and it was evident that it's because the teachers know what they're doing.

I love..love..love the well-rounded program because the kids get to be kids when they play, and then transition to a learning environment several times in the course of the day. My little girl is always very proud of her art-work, math, and sight-words just as much as she loves the music class.

I??m truly amazed that the teachers, with the guidance of their extremely knowledgable and caring director,Jeanna, do so much with the kids in a small setting. Before coming to Patterson, she attended a much bigger day-care, but got very little out of it.

This place is indeed a home for our kids away from home. Every day I??m reminded that I should have brought her here long before now, but I??m glad she got here.

Unlike other "big" day-cares where nobody truly cares about the kids except the money, you guys have shown that your priority is A CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT!

Thank you so much!

I have a hard headed son that needed extra TLC. He participated half-day at Patterson for a series of months to help him make his transition to a new state. My son brought with him certain challenges, and the director and staff worked with me to help him. They listened and supported me and tried a number of approaches to help my son work out his behavior. They were incredibly patient and gentle. We eventually figured out that he needed a highly structured, Montessori-like setting, and they referred me a place that could provide that. At no time did I ever feel that this was a rejection. More likely, I was able to view my son's change to a new school as a point of growth.

I recently visited just to let them know how my son, who is going to pre-school with his sibling, is now doing. Not only did they remember us, but they were still interested in our well-being. The classrooms were busy with children learning and receiving instruction. The play-yard brimmed with happy sounds of play. The staff and children were cheerful and content. The business was absolutely clean and orderly.

This environment is best for children who thrive in a multi-age atmosphere and need a casual approach to their day. All children, however, will enjoy the affection of conscientious teachers who communicate openly and regularly regarding the progress of your children. Your child will come home with artwork and academic work. My son always talked about what he learned there and the friends he made.

I am so thankful for the love and support from the staff at Patterson.

I have had a very good experience with my child at Patterson Child Care. I am expecting and sincerely hope that their new addition will be completed so my infant son will be able to go to school with his big sister. Very caring, loving staff. Have always been there and willing to help us for special situations. I like the open door policy and the recognition you receive as you enter each day.
I am overly please and highly recommend.

I know God led me to this daycare because I was desparate for a warm, nuturing, loving Christian based daycare with preschool and my daughter didn't fit in well at the commercial large daycares such as La Petite, Primrose and even Victory Tabernacle. We needed something more family oriented. She just turned 4 and has been there for over a year now and can count to 30 easily and knows her letters and wants to even try to read too! She is so happy there, the staff and director are awesome, they treat the children like they are their own family - with lots of love, patience, understanding. There hasn't been any turnover rate on teachers either, same ones for over a year now! They're there to help with anything - even last minute babysitting emergencies! Great price too which was a huge concern for us as well! AND my daughter has asthma and they are great working with her treatments as needed! They have become a part of our extended family.

My daughter has been attending PACC for almost a year. She has absolutely thrived. She's 2 1/2 -- knows her ABCs, her numbers, is constantly improving her motor skills, and her vocabulary amazes me every day. PACC works with the children on a daily basis on a varying curriculum that meets my daughter's ever growing curiosity. In addition, there's time for music, stories, and crafts. Also, the children are mixed in age -- which allows for the younger ones to learn by observation of the older ones. My family needed a daycare with flexibility and PACC caters to that need -- with a variety of attendance plans available -- from 1-2 days a week to full week. My one hesitation when we first started was the space -- at 1st look it can be unsettling. HOWEVER, the staff have use the space available in clever ways to ensure the children have a great place to learn, play, and engage with each other.

Our daughter attends this Day Care and we are so pleased with her progress. She comes home every day with her cute little papers and is so proud she has learned her a-b-c's, she is spelling simple words and has learned so much. The math and music programs have been my daughter's favorites. She is very proud of the things she learns. My husband and I, as proud parents, appreciate the time, efforts and patience the staff takes with these children. They do an amazing job and each one of them has award winning attitudes. The Director, Ms. Jeanna, has been wonderful to us. It is so refreshing to find a place like this in the Richmond area! These dedicated teachers and instructors enjoy what they do and it shows. The loving positive influence they shower and reflect on these children absolutely shows and we couldn't be happier with Patterson Avenue Child Care.

My son attended PACCP from 2 years to 6 years old, he left the Pre K program knowing how to read above Kindergarten level, count by 5's and 10' s and to 10 in Spanish, the basics of addition and subtraction. I was really impressed when he came home singing a song about the various parts of his brain. His class grew flowers from seeds, raised butterflies from chrysalis, and during the holidays presented a choral performance to the parents along side the elementary children. I greatly appreciated the fact that he was given so many unique learning opportunities above and beyond the daily care and play that is expected. He made many wonderful friends and best of all he was in a very nurturing and loving environment. I have seen the director take special interest in each individual child and work along side the lead teachers to create a stimulating and safe environment for young learners. I have always found the staff, assistants as well as lead teachers, to provide exceptional quality care to all students. Once my youngest child was old enough to attend preschool, I immeadiately enrolled her in hopes that she may reep the benefits of the same wonderful experiences. Thanks to the kind and nurturing actions of the staff, she has made an easy adjustment and absolutely loves coming to PACCP. Her favorite part of the day is playing with others on the outside playgound and I love the fact that she gets so much physical outdoor activity. The center has an extremely well rounded program from arts and music to reading and science - all of the lessons and activities are very age apropriate. I have many times and will continue to recommended PACCP to friends and strangers. The PACCP program is one of the best in Richmond.

My son has attended PACCP for the last four years! When we adopted our son, he had a number of social/behavioral issues to overcome. Ms. Jeanna and the staff at PACCP came to my rescue and made our life much easier to transition into. I had almost a daily conference with Ms. Jeanna about his social growth, his eating habits (which were terrible), his health and anything else that pertained to the well being of my son. They bent over backwards to make my son's stay at PACCP healthy and socially enriching. They also prepared him academically for kindergarten.
I was so impressed with his care at PACCP that I enrolled him to begin Kindergarten at Richmond Academy, which is the private school affiliated with Patterson Avenue Child Care.
Today my son is going into the 3rd grade with a 504 plan and he is excelling. I attribute most of this to the exceptional care he received at PACCP at a most critical time in his life.
THANK YOU PACCP!
I know you want your child to be treated ?like other kids? but AS children are not like other kids and must be handled differently. I suggest you find a daycare that understands what special education children need? which is special handling.

At Patterson Avenue Child Care we have an open door policy and invite you to come in at any time to see our facility. Our goal is to make the time spent in our licensed facility a time of enrichment and learning. We strive to provide each child with an environment including Early Childhood Development, fun, warmth, security and knowing God as their personal friend. We invite your involvement and presence in our center as we help to develop the whole child and prepare them for the next level of education. We are a small daycare and therefore offer more one on one help as needed on an individual basis.

We have five qualified teachers on staff and also have two seniors from the academy to assist the teachers as needed. We offer a variety of learning tools including Spanish and Music Classes. We have combined several curriculums to build our program; and in return eight of the nine children that graduated from our Pre-K Program are reading! We strive to make learning fun and our students are growing academically and becoming self-confident in their abilities.

Cons: Being a small child care facility they cannot accomodate all children with special needs.

My experience at PACCP has been fabulous! I brought my oldest child here almost 4 years ago. She was loved, cared for, learned TONS and was part of the PACCP family. As a result, I brought my youngest daughter here -- never thinking twice about going to another school. As with both of my girls, they receive personal attention, are taught good values, and their learning is ahead of others their age.

Whenever I had a question, the director spent time with me -- as she did with other parents. She gave excellent suggestions and was always candid and helpful. The other teachers were great as well, but you could always tell that Ms Jeanna had a special place in her heart for her "kids". Her patience and love truly shows through!!!

I can wholeheartedly and without reservation, recommend PACCP to any parent who wants a fabulous preschool for his/her child. I assess people and organizations for a living -- this one gets an A+++++!!!!!!

My 3 year old went there 3 months. He is much like kids his age, but may have Asberger's. His big issues are transitions. Accommodations are simple, and he is a delightful boy with high intelligence. His teachers adore him and we never had issues with his old daycare with no accomodations. I tried many times to communicate simple things you can do most of which involve proper supervision.
The director has reported his "rudeness" a typical misunderstanding of AS kids, "pushing and biting" each time it seems usually involve an older child, teasing and taunting to set him off, or an event on the play ground with poor supervision - usually teenagers. I have had issues with rude and dismissive behavior from the director any time I requested things that could be done simply to help my son transition and adjust.
After some notes like "wouldn't participate" in singing and activities and reports of biting and hitting (which he doesn't do elsewhere, so I assume that he is being left to his own defenses on the playground from what I am seeing with older kids taunting or setting him off) I gave the director a nice letter printed from a AS Parent site explaining some typical behavior, and simplle adjustments mostly patience and understanding . I highlighted things that may be typical for my son to be helpful. This morning I got a long nasty note from her and a threat that we would need to find new daycare. Obvious discrimination. We do not have these issues at school, where he is being properly supervised. The diector said she didn't "have time to speak with me", and that she has "bent over backwards to keep him from having a melt down" and they are not set up for "special needs" , Wouldn't you expect that any caregiver treat your child with any special condersideration? All children are unique and have their own special needs.
I told her that I thought it was a "christian" daycare and that "these were not christian values"
I am shocked at the way we were treated.
