I called them to do a list of little repair tasks that have been bugging me for too long, and they completed everything within the time promised. The handyman who came, Sam?, did a real good job on removing water stains from the ceilings, and on crown molding i installed in the dining room.

We called Jeeves to do a repair on a window that was leaking water. After having been given several estimates we decided to go with Jeeves because of their low price. The man came out and replaed some outside trim on our house and recaulked around the window. After he was finished he handed my wife the receipt from home depot for the materials and told her she had to pay him in cash right now for the materials. When my wife said she didnt have that much cash on her around 200 i beleive he stated he would go with her to an ATM that he couldnt complete his next job without the money and that would be her fault. So she went to an ATm and got him the money .She then noticed that the trim hadnt been painted she asked why not? Was then told that would be an extra 2 hrs labor plus he would need paint and supplies which she would have to pay for and he couldnt do that then anyway. To top it all off its raining today and my window area still leaks!!! Well to add more to my review I left a few days ago I finally was able to get in touch with Mark whom I am assuming is the owner and told him I still had the same problem as before he stated he would have the same technician come out and recheck his work but if any other work needed to be done we would be responsible for paying for it !!!! so they not only never completed first repairs but are now going to try to charge us again!!! he refused to speak to me on the phone and said I could only talk to the (obviously sub contractor) person who did the work. Also forgot to mention that we were charged $200 more than the estimate we were given.

On 7/14/08, Jeeves was employed to replace rake boards on the roof. The service crew had difficulty in communicating effectively in English; it was very difficult to determine what they wanted and why they were delayed. Finally, a project manager called and explained that they required us to pay them a sum of $200 in cash or check in order for them to procure supplies to begin the repair. Although we found this to be extraordinarily unusual and unprofessional, we gave them a check, and they continued with the repair. They should have used company petty cash, as is standard, to provide their own supplies, then presented us with a single invoice at the completion of the repair. When we received the invoice, with receipts for materials, we discovered that they did not use the paint we specified, as required by the HOA, but used a different paint entirely, gambling on a color match. Finally, instead of taking the rotted rake boards with them for disposal, they left them, partially hidden under the shrubberies behind our deck, with nails still in the boards.
I called Jeeves office to explain the situation, and was told that a technician would be calling me that day. 24 hours later, no call, so I called again. The female who answered the phone did not identify herself; when I asked her name, she said in a surly tone that this was Jeeves and I didnt need to know her name. I explained that I had called previously about some work that had been performed, gave the address, and asked for a managers name and to speak with that person. She refused to give me a name, and I was incredulous as I verified that she was refusing to provide the name of her manager. She finally said his name was Mark, but that he was gone. I asked for his last name, which she refused to provide, so I asked for his direct contact information, which she also refused to provide, before hanging up on me!
I called back, identified myself, and advised her that we are members of Angies List, and that we would be forced to write a negative report about their company if we didnt get a satisfactory response. I asked (again) politely for her name. She told me she didnt care if I was part of Angies List, and began loudly haranguing me for my ostensible rudeness. I asked once again for her managers last name so that I could contact him directly. She refused to provide either his last name or his contact information, telling me insolently that he was out with his kids, and, as though I should have known, that there was only one number to Jeeves. She did, however, identify herself, at last, as Samantha.
I stated that we had spent almost a thousand dollars on a repair and still had boards with nails in them on our property, and that as an unhappy customer, I expected someone to listen to my concerns and address them, and be willing to provide contact information for a company manager. She raised her voice again and began yelling how rude I was, at which point I snapped, telling her that if she didnt start listening, I was going to rip her a new one. Admittedly, THAT was rude. Until that point, however, I had been amazingly restrained in the face of an obstructive, surly, unwilling receptionist. We will NOT use their services again due to the unpleasantness of the office help, and the tremendous difficulty we experienced in receiving an appropriate response to our very legitimate concern.

I'd had a plumber fix a leaky pipe in my living room ceiling and then called Jeeves to do the drywall work. I set up an appointment and the nice Ukrainian repairman came at the specified time. He said it would take 4 hours. It did. He was courteous and incredibly neat. No dust or dirt remained after the job. The only issue was that he painted the new drywall patch white and my ceiling is beige but that's easy enough to paint over.
Overall, good job. I'd use them again.

I call them in a couple of times a year to take care of my to-do list for home repairs, like caulking, painting, broken door knobs, lose wires..
This time, I had a leak from "somewhere" that stained the ceiling about the dining room, and I couldn't find the source...
The Jeeves guy took 5 minutes to locate the leak behind the bathtub, replaced a fitting, stopped the leak. I then had him patch and repaint the stain below.
I have been consistently satisfied with their work, never any hassles, and they always quickly complete what i need them to do.

I made an appointment to have a 2-man team come to my townhouse to re-attach an approximately 3-foot length of flashing that had blown loose during a wind storm and to check the other flashing on our home to make sure it was tight.
The owner, Mark, seemed very nice...told me the rate was usually $140/hr for a 2-man crew, but that there was a special, so it would only be $100/hr. The crew arrived at the appropriate time and made the repair. Both men on the crew were very nice. The job took 1 hour. When I was presented with the bill, it was for $205.00, because according to the crew lead there is a 2-hour minimum. Well, no one told me about the 2-hour minimum. When I called back to the office to inquire, I spoke with Samantha who said that indeed there was a 2-hour minimum and that Mark, being the owner, would have surely disclosed that to me...well he must have had a bad day because he DIDN"T. Samantha was curt at best and resisted...but then relented a bit and asked what she could do. I told her that she could charge me for one hour. She said grudingly that the best she could do was $140 + $5 materials. She said now only one of the men would get paid. While I still wasn't pleased by this apparent "fast one," I tried to be pleasant and thanked her. Before I could get the words out, she hung up on me...real nice!
First, the 2-hr minimum should have been disclosed to me.
Second, the pricing should not have been switched like it was just a game. I was quoted $100/hr for 2 men...no minimum stated. The price should have stayed at that.
Third, for argument's sake, if I were entitled to/forced to accept 2-hours I could have found something else for them to do...but, of course, was not given the chance.
Fourth, without anyone checking with Mark, I should have been shown some respect...after all, I am the customer. The worker in a quiet, calm way said that no one would come there for that small a job/amount (not according to their website though). Samantha the secy acted like I was flat out lying (I'm 59 and was raised not to lie...obviously something that the company can't claim) and was extraordinarily abrupt and rude. I was told the manager wouldn't be back in town until the end of November (vacation) so I would not be ain position to discuss the matter with him until it would certainly be gone from his mind.
In all, a terrible experience. I would not recommend them at all for anything. What it appears they do is lie about the minimum, then get the work done quickly to maximize the overcharge profit. It's not the cost so much that's the issue, though we definitely aren't your typical well-off Fairfax County family; it's the lack of honesty and integrity...and certainly the lack of politeness and respect apparent in dealing with the group.
PER MY EXPERIENCE, DO NOT USE JEEVES HANDYMAN OF FALLS CHURCH!

I didn't know that it was that easy to solve my plumbing problem. It has been on going, unstoppable and I was almost going to give up on it until I tried out Jeeves . It was recommended by a friend.
My 6months problem with the leak was fixed in 2hours. Very satisfied.

I contacted them to set an appointment. A few days later they left a message on the machine to ask for a change of time. I saw no reason to change the time because we had already agreed on the time. When I didn't call them back, they canceled the appointment. I called them to complain. The manager was rude and discouteous. I will never do business with them again.

Would definitely recommend Jeeves Handyman Services. Their employees were very informative and patient when I asked questions about tiling, as well as honest about quoting me a price (no run around, which is great). The workers they sent for redoing the tiling in my kitchen were prompt, hard working, and clean. What more could you ask for?
PROS: Honest , professional
