ODU may be fantastic for first-year freshman, but I would highly recommend NOT transferring here. Even if you're transfering from another Virginia state school, count on there being a ton of your classes that they won't accept for credit. I attempted to transfer in as a junior at another university, and it would've taken me another three and a half years to graduate from ODU! With that said, however, the tuition is reasonable and in line with other state colleges and the academics seem to be decent. The grounds are well manicured and the buildings are all in good condition. For a first year student who plans to graduate from ODU, this school is probably a great choice. Transfers, go elsewhere!

I have taken a few classes at Old Dominion University. It is a nice campus. Many of the class sizes are quite large. The classes I took were taught in like a big auditorium. If you are the type that prefers smaller classes then ODU might not be for you. The tuition was in line with the prices that most local universities charge. The campus is spread out all over so sometimes there is a lot of walking to get around. Parking was awful when I took classes there.
