I am absolutely in love with A Touch of the Earth. In a previous comment, they mentioned the store not opening on time. I find that to be rare. I live here, and I go there often. And I like that they are laid back enough to take it easy in the morning, instead of the busy-bee approach. It's different! I like it!
The cost for things in there indeed can be pricey, but it's worth what you get. For instance, I got a Native American necklace charm there that was pretty expensive, but it had real turquoise in it! Keeping in mind, the owner is probably pricing fairly as she can (and get money herself), seeing she is getting these things from places all around the world. It's authentic, and I really get a feel for different cultures within the store, including their spirituality, which I really like.
The woman is actually a really nice person if you get to know her a bit. My first impression of her was that she just seemed to be busy in her work, but after going there a few times, I found her to be very helpful and kind. You just have to ask if you need assistance! You can't expect her to be standing right there when you're looking at things. So, I also like that she gives me my space and time looking through things.
Take my review, a person who goes there very often. It's going to be different for everyone, seeing we all have different personalities and likes. But I love it, and I'm glad small-town Harrisonburg has something like this to offer. I'm heading there right now after I write the review! They have a great selection of incense.
Peace&Love
P.S. Even though I mentioned things being expensive, there are also things in there that are not! Like any store, more "valuable" items will just cost more! It's totally worth your time checking it out. Take it from me, a poor student!

This is a fun place for ecelctic gifts and jewelry. The employees are very nice and helpful. The prices vary a lot. Some of the items are more expensive than they should be, but some are very reasonable. They have strange hours, though, so call ahead.
