I found that after I graduated, I was very poorly prepared for college and the "real world," with the exception of grammar, writing and math. I can't say that I'm familiar with many works of literature (anything secular with an anti- God message is completely neglected, rather than teaching it with a Biblical worldview in mind). For example, my class never even completed a full play by Shakespeare. While I was in high school, Faith was going through the accreditation process. If it did attain accreditation, I am highly dubious and suspicious of such a claim, as many teachers were unqualified for the subjects they were teaching. For instance, Bible teachers were at the time teaching Algebra and History, and the Biology teacher (who taught Earth Science and Math classes as well) was a home economics major in college. Other reviewers who state Faith??s academics exceeded that of public schools are sorely misinformed. Especially in high school, there is no program to speak of to challenge gifted students, neither is there any program to help struggling ones. Such students either fall through the cracks or become behavior problems to compensate for their boredom or frustration. Instead of an importance placed on academics, it was placed instead on extracurricular activities, like sports and music (if you disagree, take a look at the website fbsnet.org, where five links are dedicated to sports alone, while academics has only two). While certainly these areas are important, and we should celebrate students?? gifts in sports and music, the emphasis, or rather lack of one, placed on academics serves as a very poor testimony to other professional educators in the area.

Come and visit Faith Baptist Church - we want to make you feel welcome! I"ve been a member for 20+ years. Faith offers a wide variety of activities and classes for all ages, from nursery to our "Prime Timer's (ages 50 and up). Dedicated to seeing souls come to know Jesus Christ, Faith supports a large group of missionary families and has their own school and college, Virginia Baptist College. They have a great youth ministry, offering AWANA and Master's Clubs on Wednesday night and a SIGMA club for older children (teens and up).
