What a grand experience is Colonial Williamsburg! Granted the admission fee is a bit high, but if one springs for the Independence Pass all of the evening programs are free and the pass is good for a year. We live close enough (about 100 miles away) that we take advantage of that bebfit. The pass has paid for itself many times over. Our favorite evening program is The Grand Medley of Entertainments. It is a hoot. We've seen it a number of times and laugh heartily every time. The Revolutionary City program really makes the end of the 18th C come alive. Obviously, we really like the programming and everything about Colonial Williamsburg and highly recommend it.

I enjoy history and was a history major in college. However, I do not enjoy having my "pocket picked" by a $34.00 entrance fee. I would not mind supporting the fund but at a much lower entrance fee. After a short time old buildings become just that... old buildings and nothing more. A reduced ticket price for late in the day would be a good improvement. We drove downtown and parked in a municipal lot for $1.00. We walked Duke of Glouster street and got the flavor. Unfortunately the flavor and odor is musty. My advise is DON'T GO. The price is TOO HIGH and the return is way too low. Instead try going to Yorktown and visit the National Parks site, not the private business located there. Also, go to Jamestown and again visit the National Park site and save you money on the private business there as well. As much as I love history I would not waste my time at Williamburg and will tell everyone I can talk with the same thing which is simply DON'T GO! It is way too expensive. If anyone has the e-mail address for Colonial Williamsburg I do not object to giving this review to them, in fact I say please do. Thank you for listening and enjoy the rest of Virginia.

Colonial Williamsburg is a great vacation! Everything is preserved just as it was in 1770's, and the characters are just fantastic. The admission is not cheap, but the quality and experience is well worth the price. Everything is preserved very well, and the night events were fabulous. A must do for history buffs and families.

Colonial Williamsburg is a great place to go and spend a weekend. Admission is slightly high at $30+ a person, but there's lots to see and do for your money. All staff are in character and dressed as they would have dressed during the colonial era. The employees are friendly and the food is good. Also, if you choose not to spend money for admission, you can walk through the grounds for free - you can't go into any of the exibits, but it makes for a nice leisurely stroll anyhow. If you're at all interested in early American history, Colonial Williamsburg is a great choice.

We just returned from a wonderful time at Colonial Williamsburg and would love to go there again. We took out 13 year old son and purchased the Govenors Key to the City Passes. These allowed 3 days access to the retored village and allowed time to watch the craftsmen at work, All of the people were so patient with questions and gave freely of there time with answers. The programs are very good. They also have a wonderful mug that you can purchase for $10.00 and get free refills all day,

We were at Colonial Williamsburg at Christmas Time. We truly enjoyed just walking the streets of the city and enjoying the atmosphere. The restaurants, the shops and the decorations in Colonial Williamsburg makes one feel as though they have stepped back in time....to a time that was a very important and historical time in our history. We did not purchase any tickets for the exhibits.

First, I think everyone should know that if you just want to walk around the park and shop, this is FREE to do and you do not have to buy a ticket. The tickets are expensive and are only required for the special exhibits, which are interesting and fun to see once or twice. The food is delicious and the shopping is unique. Its great for the family or for couples. You can even rent period costumes!
