I used this insurance company for our Home Insurance policy. We searched different insurance companies and agencies when we bought our home. This local agency gave us the lowest quote on home insurance (much lower than many other agencies). So we went with them. People at the local office were friendly and efficient. We did not need to deal with them for any claims, so everything was fine. Then approching the time to renew the policy the next year, we received a letter telling us about the new premium, and it was a big increase. I called them and was told different reasons the overall home insurance premiums had to increase. At that point, there was no need to continue the policy with them. We were required to write a letter and mail it to them stating we no longer wish to have our house insured with them. I'm not sure if it was just their way to attract new customers and then switch to higher premiums, or just for some reason, as they stated, their company had to increase the premium for rising costs.

PROS: professional and efficient services, cheap initial quote
CONS: premium increased large amount the second year

After years of going with a insurance company where you had no assigned agent, we changed to Erie. It has worked well so far although we have only had a few instances where we needed assistance. There rates are comparable to our previous insurer and we can cover our house, cars, etc. with the same company. I would recommend that anyone looking into insurance to consider Erie.
