Joie Leffler at My Plumber does fantastic work. He arrived on time, quickly and accurately assessed the problem, explained it to me in a way I could easily understand, laid out the options for resolving the problem and walked me through them, and completed the work quickly and thoroughly. I have never been a My Plumber customer in the past, but will continue to use them because of the excellent service Joie provided.

John Quirk is an excellent Master Plumber. He is a perfectionist at his work, very respectful, polite, honest, and on-time. He possesses sharp communication skills and will be upfront on costs/amount of time the work will take/etc. Most importantly, he treats everyone involved in the process with respect, especially with regard to protecting the floors/carpets in the home. I strongly recommend his work.

Thank you to the young man Lyndon Crosby from My Plumber who fixed a valve for the hot water in my kitchen that my husband was unable to fix. He was great and on-time and professional. And the price was reasonable. I also put this comment on Angies List because I am very happy with the service.

My toilet was clogged and I called My Plumber to fix it. They sent out James H. who arrived within 40 minutes. He was very courteous and knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me. He even offered to check my furnace. I would use them again next time.

After checking Angie's List and the BBB, I called My Plumber to fix my 10 year old leaking hot water heater. They sent a tech to my house. He was very polite and knowledgeable. He gave me 2 options: Fix the thermostat button or upgrade to another water heater as there was rust on the inside of the tank. He didnt pressure me into the upgrade; merely gave me a choice. I couldnt afford the upgrade but will call them again when I need a new one!

These guys really are not plumbers, they are totally inept and were unable to even fit a toilet seat. They have left me with a huge mess (the initial job had been to fit a toilet seat - simplest job in the world). I really cannot advise you more strongly not to use them.

Called this plumber when we had a blocked disposal. Felt that I was being scammed by them. Said that I need a new disposal and quoted a very high price. I declined and had another company check the system. They relayed there was nothing wrong with my disposal,. It's been several weeks now, and my system is working fine.

I called them to have them fix our water heater which broke down yesterday. First off, they will try to charge a ??dispatch fee? of $80 just for sending someone to your house. The CSR I spoke with told me that she would waive the fee because I was a new customer. I asked for a ballpark figure for how much it would cost for them to fix the problem and was told that only the field technicians had the ??book of prices.?

I get a call from my wife that the man wrote up a bill for $150 JUST for looking at the water heater. The total to actually repair the heater would be $850 total, or $1500 to replace the whole system. They did not say that actually looking at the heater was going to cost anything, let alone $150. I had a second plumber come in after they left and fix the same problem. The total charge for diagnosis AND repair was $180.00.

Obviously, the man would not have left the house without being paid, so my wife had to pay him with our credit card. I was able to have my credit card company reverse the charge. We would not have been so lucky if we paid with cash or check!

These crooks are trying to take advantage of people by price gouging heating services in the winter time. They are THE first result for ??plumber in northern Virginia? on Google and unlucky people WILL try them first!

Someone had recommended My Plumber for a very major clogged plumbing situation caused by destructive tenants. The gentleman that responded claimed to have a lot of experience in dealing with such problems and quoted me an all-inclusive up-front high price of $850 to clear all of the clogged sewer lines in the house. This would also include a video check of the line afterwards. I fell for it and he started by removing the toilet on the 3rd floor and snaking it out with the goal of snaking to the street from there. For some reason, he had a lot of problems getting the snake to cooperate. But he succeeded in clearing the line between the 3rd floor and 2nd floor and flooded the 2nd floor bathroom with sewage. He then moved to the 2nd floor in panic and got things stopped there. After a couple hours work and mad private phone consultation with another person, he announced that his price was wrong and that he would need to charge an additional $400 to continue the work. In shock, I allow him to alter the original contract (with mark-outs clearly still there) and continue. 7 hours later and after bringing in an additional man, he announces he is done but the video guy will have to come another day. The video man arrives and gives me the bad news that the line to the road is torn up with roots and pieces of sewer pipe and will need to be torn up and replaced for thousands of dollars. Fortunately I eventually get a 2nd opinion (for $250 video inspection) and the videographer is able to show me that there is nothing abnormal in the line. After all that, to top things off, I still ended up with a clogged drain line that had to be cleared and a mess to clean up. This was a clear rip-off scam operation - no doubt in my mind.

I had 4 toilets repaired by them and the technician sold me on the top of the line brass tank fixtures which he said cost more but are worth the money. Two weeks later 2 toilets continually ran after flushing. I called the company and they said "no problem sometimes there are defective parts, we'll come out an replace them for you". So the plumber came out and replaced the 2 toilet tank mechanisms and left. I checked the tanks just out of curiosity and SURPRISE the plumber had replaced the brass fixture with PLASTIC that you can buy at Home Depot for a couple of dollars. Lesson learned......check all work while technician is still there.

My Plumber has corrected the issue in a satisfactory manner.

I had a leaking water connecting hose to my washer. I purchased the hose & attempted to replace myself but it was on so tight I was afraid to crush the pvc pipe that the faucet was connected too so I decided to call them. Using my part & replacing one hose they quoted me $388. I said no thank you & I could purchase a brand new washer & have it installed for free for another $100 what a rip off so I wrote out a check for a 79 service charge, I called another plumber that charged me $75 & was here less than 10 minutes. The tech quickly came down on his price after I told him absolutely no way. He said he could get 30% off by calling a manager I told him he still wouldn't be in the ball park. Then he told me that he was worried if I did it myself that I would crush the PVC I told him not to worry I would call somebody else & he told me to make sure they are insured. Are you kidding me, they are replacing a hose for gods sake. I am waiting for the manager to call me back.

They came to our house and charged $250 to fix one leaky faucet! It just does downhill from there.

We had another leaky faucet we wanted them to fix and in addition to the $250 to fix the leaky faucet, they wanted to charge $900 to replace the whole faucet in our shower and went out to get a new part. When they came back they showed us "see, this faucet is on too tight so we have to replace the whole thing", when in reality what they were showing us was that they were turning the faucet THE WRONG WAY. They had been tightening it the entire time, and trying to get us to believe that it needed to be replaced when it didn't.

This was not them being idiots and not knowing what they were doing, BUT THEM TRYING TO GET US TO PAY $900 FOR A SERVICE WE DID NOT NEED. When they tried turning it the other way it came right off.

We asked them to leave, and now when we tried to remove the faucet ourselves they had tightened it so much out of spite that the pipe broke before the faucet came off. I would not use My Plumber again if my life depended on it, if I could give them zero stars I would.

I called My Plumber in Manassas, VA because I had water leaking in the wall of my basement and a water pressure issue. Their first visit resulted in them giving me a diagnosis ($133 charge) that my ice maker was broken and that was causing the leak. The ice maker is NOT broken and works fine today.

They said my water softener was causing the water pressure issue and needed to be replaced ($3500). On 9/29, they replaced the water softener and the whole house filter (said this was necessary at additional $628). Water continued to leak in wall, so they came back on 10/2/09 and now said I needed a condensation pump, which they installed. The next morning (when I had 8 people staying in my home for my husband's burial at Arlington), we woke up to NO water.

My Plumber came out again and now said that I needed to replace the well pump. They did that replacement (more than 8 hours and $4990) and admitted that the failing well pump may have caused the water pressure issue for the past 3 weeks. I asked them to consider a partial rebate/refund since they may have sold me and installed equipment that I didn't need. Their manager was supposed to call me on 10/6/09 to discuss. He never called.

On 10/17/09, they came back because my water was rust colored. They said that their original plumber installed the wrong size water softener and filtration system and that they were going to install the correct units that day. They also said that he installed the filter system on the "wrong side" of the softener system and that the water should be going through the filter before going to the softener. They ripped out the entire system and pipes and were at my home from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. I left to go to dinner with friends and when I returned, they were gone and I had no water pressure. Their answering machine does not allow you to leave a message, so I sent them an email.

The next morning (10/19/09) I had NO water whatsoever, meaning I couldn't get showered and dressed for church. I contacted them via email and phone, but they said it would be several hours before they could get anyone out to my house. This will be their sixth visit to my home in a month. I have spent more than $10,000 and I have no water and probably a bunch of equipment that I didn't need to buy.

Under NO circumstances use My Plumber. They'll take you for everything you've got. Make sure you get multiple quotes from other places for any job. Or better yet ask a neighbor for who they use.

We had our sewer line snaked. The first guy charged us $800 just for that. We thought it was kind of steep, we paid a 1/4 of that last time. He said it was all clear straight to the street. But he'd like to send back a guy with a camera at no charge to take a look.

The guy comes in with a camera no more than 3 days later to show us that there are roots grown and blocking the entire passage.... WAIT? DId you not even snake it. Roots cannot grow back that fast.

The camera guy was using a lot of pressure for me to accept his bid to dig up my yard and put in new sewer pipes to the tune of $8000. I said I would look at it, I don't happen to have that kind of money on hand. He also said I should get my neighbors in on it because they'll need to do it too... probably.

We decided to get another opnion. We contacted our local plumbers who have actually worked in our neighborhood, and for the same EXACT problem, they said it would cost us 1/2 as much.

My Plumber is NOT a good deal, I will never call them again, and I will not recommend them to anyone for anything.

Complete rip-off.
4000% parts markup!?? Who does that? MyPlumber.com does.

I called them because the water heater thermostat kept resetting and I thought it was bad.

First they said there was a $79 dispatch fee.. (then charged me $133). For that $133 they told me the temp was turned higher than it should be and I should "see what it does now" (after he turned it down a little) but the lower thermostat *might* be bad.

(I told them that when I called).
Nothing was fixed. It's still resetting.

They put some random part number for the lower thermostat on a quote and said it was a $231 part.

I called the manufacturer, got the right part number, and just found the actual part online for $8

WTF? This should be criminal.

Water Pressure Regulator replaced with one I purchased for only $28.00. Their price $460.00 installed using their part. $340.00 installed using my part. Do the math. Rip off on part cost to start with.

Now My Plumber has to come back because the service tech used a water pump pliers to secure the "B" nut, cracking the nut sleeve and he filled it in with putty. Small seeping leak needed to be addressed.

Now the good part. Office says appointment scheduled the next day between 6:00 am and 9:00 am. I miss work waiting for them to call....which they finally do at 8:30:am. Why tell me 6:00am??? Why not just say between 8:00 and 9:00. My Plumber's office wasn't even open at 6:00am

Screw ball operation and a ripoff just like all the others out there in Loudoun County.

Had a pipe burst behind a wall forcing me to shut off my water and causing a disaster area on 3 levels. They were recommended by another plumber who was too busy (it was during record low temperatures so all plumbers were slammed). They were busy too but said they could squeeze me in. Showed up within a couple hours on a Saturday afternoon, did the repair very quickly and with great care (I was impressed how they tracked it down so quickly and accurately). They were very personable and efficient. I was charged $250 but it was an emergency visit on a weekend, they had to cut through drywall and go to home depot for parts, and they were fast! it was a very pleasant experience so I felt it was well worth it. Have no idea what another plumber would charge but I didn't get the impression these guys overcharged as other reviewers commented.

Called this company to light the pilots. There was a gas leak and the gas line has to be replaced.
they gave us a price for $2429.58

we called another company. they fixed the problem without even touching the drywall for the price of $280.00.

Now you do the math. They were going to charge us $2149.58 Extra for this job. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY AT All ,or if you do at least get a second opinion.

MY PLUMBER RATES ARE A RIP OFF - DO NOT CALL
We have used this company in the past and the last two times we called we ended up going with another plumbing service. Watch out - they charge close to 80,00 to come out and only refund if you use their service to repair. Just called today for small pin size whole in exposed copper pipe- less than an hour to repair and part to replace nonmial cost. They wanted 650,00 SIX HUNDERED FIFTY DOLLARS - NO LIE. DO NOT CALL THIS PLUMBER SERVICE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED TO BE RIPPED OFF. OF COURSE WE HAD TO PAY 80.00 FOR THEM TO COME OUT TO GIVE US THIS RIDICULOUS ESTIMATE.

.

I got a service from MyPlumber company .For small item they charged me $300 and 5 min labor time but when I check with same item(part) price in Homedepot its cost less than $50 and we can fix it easly (just putting two screews)

This is completely unfair charge...Please be aware of this company

My husband and I weren't quite sure what to expect from them when we had hot water heater troubles, but we were really happy with the job they did. They were fair and gave us several options in regards to price and what we could expect. They also took time to teach us about hot water heaters. VERY fast service.

I had to pick a plumber from the yellow pages for an emergency leak. They were dispatched within hours, had the leak fixed in record time and did not outrageously charge me for the short notice. I would use them again.
