Chalquest is best!!!

by Katie B.

Being a military family, far away from our home state, we have to travel several times a year. Our dog has not had good experiences at other local kennels until last year, when we were referred to Chalquest. A friend of ours recommended Chalquest Kennel and we hesitantly gave it a shot. After spending several days with this homey, secluded kennel, our dog was better behaved than she was when we dropped her off! We really love that they take the dogs out, one at a time, spend quality time with them, and let them just RUN! The folks at Chalquest are such great people and we are so happy we found a place our dog loves to visit. I recommend them to everyone!

Knowledgeable, dog-friendly owners!

by Amy B.

I have never felt comfortable boarding my dogs, but since moving to Chesapeake (and away from family who could take my pup) I was thrilled to find Chalquest Kennels, owned by former trainers (and the director of training) at Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Lynne and Russ KNOW DOGS. They have both trained all kinds of dogs and provide private in-home training as well. Chalquest is an older kennel that they bought, so it may not have all the bells and whistles that newer kennels do, but Russ and Lynne are dedicated to making sure your dog has a happy kennel experience. One-on-one time, outside play time in the one-acre fenced area, bath and grooming at the end - all of these are included, not extra charges. I feel very comfortable leaving my dog there, knowing she's in good hands.

Adequate

by N.P. R. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 7,898

Chalquest is an adequate place to board your pets. The stafrf does seem animal-friendly. The kennels are fairly well kept; I did detect a very strong feces smell, but then dogs will be dogs. All in all, an adequate place to board your dogs.
