I've been taking out-of-town friends here for 10 years, and they all talk about how much they miss it when they go home. Cannot beat the Dog Collars and all the different pizza offerings. Awesome neIghborhood place with a true "insider" vibe- we'll keep going back as long as it's there!

I have been a loyal patron of Lost Dog since it first opened in 1985. I moved away from the area, but have the number still programmed in my cell phone, so I can place an order as soon as we are back in town. We visit regularly, and stop by as often as possible to get our fix.

I raved so much about this place to my boyfriend and convinced him we should go there, based upon an excellent first dining experience. (I got the Spinach Melt and Black Bean and rice soup of the day). We went together a couple days later and ordered take-out and that was a regrettable decision that I won't make again. Once we got to the car we noticed the waffle fries were burnt and inedible. My boyfriend went back in and asked for a fresh serving of fries and was given very cold treatment. The young girl at the counter gave him a huge attitude and said do you want your money back? because they're going to be the same next time. He decided to get onion rings instead. When he handed the bag of burnt waffle fries to the girl she snatched them out of his hands. I called the manager and complained about the rude treatment we received and he replied that the girl was "just trying to FIX the problem!" with a nasty attitude. And the onion rings we got instead were disgusting - tasted stale. Our sandwiches were awful too (cowboy and cowgirl). So all in all, the place is a lot of bark and no bite. Looks like a cool place on the out side, but it's inconsistent, poor quality food, and poor service. To describe the place as casual is accurate. The dining chairs were broken too.

I'd like to start by saying that every time I've ordered pizza there I've been more than happy. BUT I just ordered a salad and a Healthy Dog which were inedible - the lettuce was rancid or something.

Maybe they don't get their produce fresh? Maybe they were having a bad night? I don't know - but in the future I'll be sticking with their pizza.

The Lost Dog is a favorite for white pizza and beer. They offer a wide selection of designed pizzas in addition to a host of ingredients from which to create your own masterpiece. Old Dominion Root Beer on draft is a treat for the kids and their draft beer selection is always good and rotates seasonally. Can be hard to get a seat at noon, but late lunch is always a treat.

The pizza is really great and the prices are reasonable. They have a very broad selection of beer. It gets really crowded on weekend evening and can be a bit of a wait to get a seat. Very casual, a fun place to take the kids.

I agree about the spinach melt YUMMMY! I love the onion rings with tabassco and ranch... YUM! This place has best sanwiches and pizza! They have such a large selection of beer and wine too!
They also donate to animal charities!

PROS: YUMMMY, good service
CONS: parking can be difficult on weekends

Tucked in a small strip mall on Washington Blvd., you might miss this wonderful find with electic sandwiches and pizzas and great beer from around the world. The seating is not plentiful, but the food is so popular the take-out also does a brisk business. Best of all, you are supporting owners who also founded an animal rescue league, so great food for a great cause. Try to avoid the peak hours, unless you have time to just sit and enjoy the company.

This is my very favorite place to get a spinach melt. Lost Dog serves it on a sub roll with melted cheese. It is always excellent. Whenever we place an order from my office, I always think I might get something else, but always choose my favorite. They have about 30 different sandwiches on their menu...awesome.

If you are looking for a great sandwich place, look no further. This place has more sandwich selections than your average neighborhood deli. And, hot dog, are they good. And be sure to try their soup, too. Awesome! The dcor is very colorful and everything is dog-related from the whimsical paintings on the walls, to the prints and photos near the restroom. But the thing that sets this place apart from all other delis, pizza joints, and bars is that the owners also run an animal adoption organization of a similar name, Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation. This place is a dog-lovers dream.

PROS: Dog-related, great beer selection

This place has the best selection of sandwhiches. Everytime I think I am going to try something else, I can't help but get back to my spinach melt. I do prefer to takeout or get it delivered, as the place is kind of small. However, the service is good and the staff is nice. We have used this shop to deliver food for staff meetings for serveral years. They also have an amazing selection of beers...on tap and by the six pack. Parking is a problem due to a limited lot, shared with other businesses. Enjoy! The neighborhood (Westover in N. Arlington) is great for a stroll after your meal.

This funky gourmet pizza deli has an obvious dog theme with paw prints on walls. It offers 22 pies and 30 toppings for create-your-own. Choose Pedigree Pie (garlic butter, artichokes, tomatoes, spinach, cheeses); Perro Pie (salsa, grilled…
