No one greets you when you come in, so if you have never been there before and don't know their system, you stand there for a while, being ignored. I was there to take a required TB test. There are no signs posted to tell you to just write your name down, and then when the receptionist noticed me standing there waiting for her, she was a bit short with me. So you put your name on the list, and then wait until they call you to even tell them why you're there. They seem to take people in exactly the order they arrive, so no prioritization is given to people who either have very quick needs or urgent needs. When I came back to get my TB test read, I waited over an hour just for them to call my name so I could tell them I was there for something that takes about half a second. The receptionists are short with you and the nurses are in a rush. When I finally (after an hour and fiftheen minutes, or so) got called to go back with a nurse, she didn't even take me to a room to read my TB test, just did it out in the hall! Then she fussed because I had paperwork she had to fill out for it. The waiting room had a ton of flies in it - I'm not kidding! Would not recommend at all.

Ratings_icons Phycians Treatment Center is a long wait and a quick so-so fix

I went in for a poison ivy treatment. It took about 45 mins to get into a private room and another 20 minutes to be seen. Once I was seen the Doctor said you have poison ivy, sumac or oak I am not sure. I am gonna get you a cortisone shot and you will be good. She actually talked with me for about a whole 2 minutes. I am very unhappy that it was such a quick exam with an unsure answer and nothing to help me with my pain and discomfort other than lotion and the shot. If you want a quick "sorta" fix visit or see a doctor who cares.

I took my Dad to Physicians Treatment Center on a Saturday because he was complaining of his left side going numb. When we got there his blood pressure was very high. They didn't check his heart or anything like that. They said he had nerve damage and sent him home with blood pressure medicine. Well the next thing I know Monday morning I am in the ER with my Dad because he had a stroke. They did not check my father at all and I would not send any of my family back over there. If they had checked him correctly he may have had use of his hand today.... Oh but two days after my mom had called them to talk to them before she sent him to the er, the doctor calls because and says oh he didn't show signs of having a stroke.... Oh come on what other signs do you need. They doctor at the Hospital said he didn't have nerve damage that every time he had numbness in the side he was having a mini stroke so why couldn't' the Dr. there tell that. I thought they were suppose to be doctors.... So I hope they read this on here because I am not helping and I refuse to do anything with them again.

Ratings_icons RUDE AND UNCARING ABOUT PATIENTS NEEDS 3/8/09

I took my son to physicians treatment center because he stepped on a rusty nail on Sunday. In the past, when I asked for extra time to pay , it was no issue. I asked this time and was told in a cold tone that payment was due before service was preformed and if I didn't have the money to go to the Emergency Room. I told her that money was tight and I could break the payments up, but she said no. So I sat down and waited to be called again. when I was called again, she ask for payment first of $135.00. I wrote her her a check and said in a cold tone, just like her tone, what arm do you want and how much blood is left for payment. After writing the check, she asked me if it was going to clear. I told her yes, and that it was my grocery money for the week, and said that it was not her problem. I looked at her and said , yes it is. you can help out by giving people a break. people can't control when they get hurt or sick. so a person comes in and can't pay right now and there in pain, you just send them home to die or make matters worse. she replied yes.THAT is SO UNCARING AND RUDE. MOVING ON ....the doctor was also rude. she was in the room 5 Min's and left. She spoke to me as if i was dumb. I told her he stepped on a rusty nail and need a tetanus shot. she told me that I wasn't a doctor and she would needed to make that disc ion. she looked at my son and said , you need a tetanus shot and a antibiotic. SO I asked, could you please give me a generic brand antibiotic. no, what I'm prescribing is much bet-er. so I told her again, I need a generic or nothing at all. this made her mad and she slammed the door. The nurse gave him his shot and asked what we said to make the doctor mad and my my son said, she asked for generic brand med.'s. the nurse replies, that will do it.The doctor hates when patients are right. As we were leaving, i handed them the chart and asked for a copy and the clerk said she should charge me for a copy. I looked at her and said, I don't think so and by the way, this is my last time I will ever set foot in your office. your all rude and know it all..
In short, if you don't have the money , PTC don't care if you live or die[ in front of them or at home] but here is something to think about, the workrs at PTC WILL ALWAYS get the help they need, requardless if they can pay or not. They need to pass that kindness to the patients who pay there bills. Doctors are not GODS and they need to lowered to new level of understanding. Let them walk in our shoes and maybe they have heart, but as it stands this office FAILS with a big fat F, on caring, kindess and understanding. They just don't care

I went in with a variety of ailments. The front desk people were not rude that I remember. I was seen fairly quickly. The doctor was kind and sympathetic. I received the treatment and the pain medicine that I obviously needed. I would certainly return there if unable to see my regular doc.

I went for a sick visit because my primary care physician was unavailable. All of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were very polite and seems to truly care. Dr. Kind was very nice and sincere. I was very impressed. This is a very nice facility with friendly people.

Ratings_icons expect a long wait!

My son fractured his leg during a sports practice and I took him over to PTC immediately. We waited 90 minutes to even make it past the front desk, despite letting them know that the trainer said he fractured his leg and that he was in severe pain several times. They allowed people to get allergy shots, get drug tested, etc. before they called us back. Something is seriously wrong with that procedure.

Once we were back in the exam room, we waited another 35 minutes. We would have been there longer had I not found a nurse practioner who apologized and said they "forgot about us." We never saw a doctor - that wasn't an option apparently.

It was a 3 hour ordeal that was inexcusable.

It is too bad that the emergency room is outrageously expensive and crowded, and PTC is the alternative.

My husband has also had a back injury due to the work he does and I found that the front desk clerks were rude and inconsiderate. I had asked someone to take me to my hubby's room and it took 4 people to ask and 35 minutes, I think the only reason someone finally took me back is because I got a little rude myself. If hubby's workers comp would pay some where else we DEFINATLEY would go elsewhere!!

I disagree with these reviews that rate the front desk clerks rude. I have used PTC many times , mostly for school sports physicals for my daughters. I have ALWAYS found the ladies at the front desk to be very courteous and professional! Maybe it's the attitude these people are walking in with! Thanks for being there PTC!!

Ratings_icons New Doctor not so nice

I have been going to PTC for three years now, and cannot ever recall a bad moment aside from the fact that the front desk women are VERY RUDE. You have to be a friendly people person to work in the medical public and they are not. I do not know how they get away with the way they treat patients, and I am sure they know who they are. The last visit I had there a few weeks ago was not a good experience. I had to see a Doctor I had not seen before. I had more than one reason why I was there. He pretty much told me that my main reason was all he had time for, as there were other patients waiting. How long does it take for a Doctor to take a few extra moments to listen and try to help his patient? I paid my fee like everyone else, and only needed a moment longer. I was shocked! The other Doctors always listen to everything and he was very rude. If I ever go there again, you can bet I will not see him again even if I have to wait longer.

Ratings_icons Great Walk-In

Last time I went to a walk in clinic, I waited for at least 2 hours just to have my name called.... I was in and out the door here in an hour and a half! I found the front desk staff to be very friendly despite what past reviewers have said.
I had to make a follow up call to straighten out a prescription question, and they were very courteous and answered my questions. The NP I saw, Christine Markham, was super nice and professional.

Ratings_icons Great Doctor's BAD, RUDE, Front Desk Help

After a back injury I have been receiving treatment at PTC. I have seen three different doctor's and the nurse practitioner, all of whom were great. However the front desk staff (who also apparently answer incoming calls) are rude and inconsiderate. They seem to think that they can speak to the patients with a disrespectful and condescending tone. It is a shame that great doctors may not receive the accolades that they deserve because the first and maybe the last impression patients receive is tainted by rude front desk help.

My husband has been to this office 5 times in the last three months do to a back injury at work. The nurses have told me 3 times that they would call and make him a ortho appointment and call me with the date and time. I called again this morning because I have had no call from them, again. And they told me it would be another 48 hrs because they are backed up. I plan on filing a complaint. Also because the Doctor Assistant Kristine, I believe is that is written on his paperwork told him at his last check up that he needed to see ortho ASAP. He told her all the mishaps with the front desk scheduler. She ignored him. Then when he asked about some more pain medication she accused him of being a drug seeker. Which is utterly ridiculous because he has only had 2 scripts for loritabs in his 24 years of life, and he has a slipped disk in his back. They will not hear the end of this.

Ratings_icons Car Wreck, Knee Injury

Anonymous

Several months ago, I was in an auto accident and injured my knee. It had swollen quite badly, and I was worried that I had done damage to my hip, which had been replaced with an artificial joint the year before. My husband took me to Physicians Treatment Center, instead of the Emergency Room. My leg was exrayed and I was told that there wasn't any damage to my knee, or my hip. I was so relieved to learn that I hadn't done any damage. The swelling failed to subside after a week or so and I returned to see the Doctor (Tatom) and once again was reassured that no damage had been permanently done and the swelling would subside eventually. What a great place in an emergency. I was home, in my own bed, resting comfortably in just 2 hours. Had I have gone to the Emergency room, I would have probably been there the whole evening. I luv Physicians Treatment Center.

Ratings_icons A good place for an emergency visit

Anonymous

I was having a hard time dealing with situations beyond control. I went to the Physicians Treatment Center for evaluation and medication.
What a beautiful new facility! After a short wait, I was called to check in and give information. I was seen by a Nurse Practitioner, who listened to my situation, prescribed medicine, and sent me on my way. I felt so much better after my visit, and the meds have helped me cope. It is great to know that there is a facility open after business hours and on weekends, when I need to be seen. It was a very positive experience and I would definately return when I need the advice of experienced professionals.

Ratings_icons Great doctors, rude desk clerks (?)

Whatever the title of those women that sit at the front desk is, they have been rude every time I've called or walked in. They appear friendly to one another, but don't seem to like to be bothered by patients. They are condescending and merciless... BUT
I have seen three different doctors there, and they have all been very nice, friendly, and efficient. If you just go in with the understanding that the front ladies are going to be rude, but the doctors and nurses are nice, you'll be all right. Plus, my insurance treats it like a normal doctor's office visit, so I only pay my copay of $25 even though it is quicker.

My mother went to PTC for severe back spasms and was treated very rudely by the girls at the front desk. She was in extreme pain and could barely walk. They shoved a paper for her to fill out in front of her and asked her if she could move so someone else could sign in. Being a nurse myself, this is unacceptable behavior for a semi-emergency clinic. These girls need to have a little more compassion for people in pain. How would they like their mother treated that way?

This establishment is an excellent option for injuries/sicknesses not bad enough for the ER and when your regular dr is not available. The first time I went however, the antibiotics they gave me did not help at all. But the second time, they treated my condition appropriately. On the downside, I had to pay upfront as they would not accept my insurance.

Ratings_icons Long Lines, but good doctors

Amit W. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,439

The only problem with this place is that there are long long long lines. You have to wait for atleast 3 hrs for a visit. That is the downside to taking in patients with no appointment. The doctors are good,. The place is big and rooms. You do not feel stuffed with lots of patients around.
