I'd rather give it a minus 1 star. I bought a leather sofa last July. They delivered itand on first inspection seemed ok but on closer look there were staples sticking out all along the edges on each side and their was a little tear close to the bottom. I called and they ordered another sofa to be delivered. The second sofa came in Sept and there was a nail under the arm wrap that was about to poke through. I called the service department while the deliver guys were still here and they said to refuse the delivery and they would order another sofa. When the sofa got back to the store Annette called and said she could find anything wrong with it. I had to pinpoint exactly where it was and wait on the phine while she went to look at it. She finally agreed that it was unacceptable. The decide to fix that sofa and bring it back.Now we are the week of Thanksgiving. The checked and fixed one side but failed to do the other side. Sent a repair man to the house, Dec. 22, who I knew couldn't fix in my home. He had to order parts. Go figure...back ordered. they will be in sometime in Jan., then Feb 22. Of course when I called on the 22nd I'm the a$$ for calling and "we said we'd call you when they come in". haven't called since and I called today - March 15 to ask if they had heard anything and they conveniently came in yesterday. They are rude and nast and have an attitude of superiority not one of pleasing the customer. I paid cash for my sofa and if I could I'd take my money and run far, far away from this establishment. I will never do business with them again and I will discourage anyone from going there.

The credit dept for Grand Furniture is a joke. A very bad joke. The reps are rude, unprofessional, and utterly incompetent. I called today to ask questions about my account and the rep actually hung up on me simply because she didn't want to bother with me anymore. I wasn't being loud. I wasn't using foul language. I wasn't being rude. She simply didn't want to be bothered. Other calls, when I had first attempted to open an account were just as much a problem when the rep promised to call me back and never did. Save your money and your time and shop somewhere else. You can be guaranteed that the people at this store don't want to be bothered and will overcharge you for their cheap, poorly made furniture.

I just want to say that I have had VERY good customer service here at Grand Furniture. My son's room, daughter's room, and dinning room all have furniture from this establishment. We are VERY pleased with the furniture. We will be going back to get a new living room set once we can afford it. The people who receive nasty calls from Grand's should probably pay their bills on time then they won't receive calls like that. There are MANY ways to avoid that issue. Do your homework and find out what they are. I was very pleased the customer service and I am always greeted with a friendly face when I go in there. They are very honest about their interest rates and they try to find the best fit, financially, for you. The ONLY problem I have is when I call to make my payment, it takes me a long time to get through. But if that is the only thing, well, I can live with that. So with that being said, Grand Furniture may not be Ethan Allen, but it is good quality furniture that will last you a lifetime!

I want to add that I have been late on a payment and they were the nicest to me on the phone. I had automatic withdrawl set up, and they informed me that because of my late pmt I couldn't do automatic withdrawl anymore. (I understood...I mean I was the one late with the pmt) So now I call in my payments and I have NEVER had a problem with customer service. I have NEVER been cursed at or threatened. I think the people below are bogus and just plain idiotic!!!!!!!

I just want to say that I have had VERY good customer service here at Grand Furniture. My son's room, daughter's room, and dinning room all have furniture from this establishment. We are VERY pleased with the furniture. We will be going back to get a new living room set once we can afford it. I just wanted to take moment to say a few words about this establishment. I have NOT purchased anything from them to date, but have been into another, nearby location multiple times, and have experienced nothing but outstanding customer service and blunt honesty about their interest rates, policies, etc. Being a responsible consumer, I got online to check reviews prior to making my purchase, and have found very few of them helpful. It seems to me that the majority of people who are displeased with this business failed to uphold their end of a deal. Now, we all encounter rough times, but I sincerely feel that if rough times are not factored into your budget, then perhaps financing $3000 furniture shouldn't be either? Maybe? I am appalled by the stories of HORRID customer service - I have read time and again that people were spoken down to, treated unfairly, and had to deal with generally uneducated representatives. And yet - the Better Business Bureau maintains that this establishment has an A+ score - no small thing. I can only surmise that the people making these complaints are, themselves, not the sort of respectable citizens they demand this business' employees be, ergo not the sort to REPORT to the BBB. I will readily admit my fault, should I also have a bad experience upon my purchase, but currently feel that the majority of these negative reviews are likely unfounded, and the result of angry people who attempted to live beyond their means and failed.

The only consolation Ive found is that Im not the only one. I miseed my payment one month because my husband and I were in a car accident and then he had surgery. This so called account manager is the WORST.Shes left nasty messages on my voicemail, and she was even rude when I called to make the payment. But rather than drag myself down to her level I hung up and oped to make my payments online. But thats beside the point. I have those messages saved and I just wanted to know does anyone know who I should go to? Someone needs to hear the mess thats been going on......

If I could have given Grand Furniture a half of a star that would probably be too much. They have the worst customer service I've seen in years. I don't expect a lot, but these people are obviously getting paid very little and hate their job, because I've had the worst experience with them. I will not be buying furniture from them ever again. Buy at your own risk.

I must say Grand Furniture's customer "account Specialist" or what ever she calls herself to feel important. lol are a JOKE. Rude, ghetto, nasty, uneducated, should I go on? this "girl" I cant even say woman, is a liar and in so many words she said " the lady in the store who takes your payment doesn't know or have the same training as i do and she is not your account representative and does not work in our corporate office and she cannot "tell" me anything regarding my account so I shouldn't listen to her " my account rep. whom I spoke with just the other day and then I gave my husband the phone, said mam I never spoke with your husband, I dont know what you are talking about that wasnt me uh...ok...??? your name is on every bill I get, you told me your name when you answered the phone, and your name is on your answering message, she cannot even lie right...but in the same breath when I called her back she is "MY" account rep. and the only one who handles MY account. so I'am stuck with talking to this? so I go behind due to the company I worked for going out of business. so for the past year, I have stated Iam unemployed, but my husband has been taking care of the payments until I'am employed again. so a year later they put a judgement out and want to take me to court because I was a month late, then court was canceled due to snow. so they continued to harrass me like I didn;t go to court on purpose. Then MY account rep tells me If I can make the payment to get it caught up I will not have to go to the 2nd court date, and the judgement will be dropped. So I go into store with the payment the lady in the grand store takes my money,looks at the paperwork and even called MY account rep to confirm that A.she can take the payment. and B. that now to confirm I do not have to go to court and the judgement will be dropped. so Iam usually a month behind but have made payments steadily up until the loss of my job.Now all the sudden there is a Lien on my bank account. So, I nicely call to inquire and only to be told that no one ever told me the judgment will be dropped, and then she preceeded to tell me that the judgement will never go away until it is paid in full and that was stated to me when I made my payment to get caught up, as well as the woman in the store, who she doesn't know who I was referring to because they are not in the "almighty coporate office" and she doesn't know what she is talking about and she doesn't know the policy she is only a sales rep. who sells furniture, she is not an account specialist. Well I know the woman who sit in the back of the store in there little cubicles and desks are not sales people. They are not on the floor selling any furniture they stay in the back of that store in there little area. So, has anyone else experienced this, I have never had a problems with the people in the store there friendly and nice a few need a course in professionalism, but overall there ok. its just my special account rep. whom I have never seen who is the issue. Does anyone know who I can talk too above this person?even abover her manager? I honestly dont know how they can get away with talking to people in such a demening manner, I feel this is the only type of control she gets, I guess this makes her and the others feel empowered and thats why they talk to us this way. Kind of explains what kind of ' homelife' they have. This is a venting session and a warning, do not get sucked into these people, you will regret it....

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Kelly in the customer service department is a mess. I was late with payments and when I made payment arrangements she still called AFTER arrangements were made. On one occassion she called me about 10 times in one day saying. "ha ha get up take your a** to the store and pay us!" another time it was "you're lucky we loaned your a** anything!" I feel sorry for Kelly because obviously, she has some issues at home. Never reported it because, hey, I owed them. Now its Feb 2011 and I am paid up until June 2011 & I am still being reported past due on my credit report. Now she won't answer the phone. Never buy from these people. Save, get your credit together, borrow from parents but by all means NEVER BUY FROM GRAND!!

You've heard this from everybody so far, but I figure I'll emphasize the point further - DON'T BUY FROM GRANDS!
I bought a bed and apparently when I was signing up for automatic withdrawal of my checking account, the grands lady inputted my routing number as my checking number. This led to a late payment and then I get a subpoena saying their taking me to court! They refuse to fix the problem. My account is now up to date and I'm still getting nasty letters from grands saying how they're taking legal action against me. Keep in mind my account was no later then 45 days late. They're resolution to court situation is telling me- "We refuse to drop it, just don't go if you don't want to"... seriously?

this store only hires people who could not get a job anywhere else. they are rude, sale junk and it is over priced. we bought a whole house full from them and not one thing was what it looked like. it either broke , fell apart or was damaged at dilivery.... never will buy from them again for anything. and dont even think you can talk to these people, they are so stupid or rude or just dont give a damn what you say. go somewhere else to spend your hard earned money.

I am in agreement with all negative reviews on this company. my experience has been the same. The staff including management all seem to carry attitude and are very disrespectful. The professionalism is not there. It appears that these people are used to talking down to customers who accept this and i believe Grand employees talk down to customers like this because a great deal of the customers have a difficult time getting approved by other stores, so Grand is usually there best opportunity. I am also a business owner, and understand the significance of professionalism. I have spoken to others who have encountered the same foolishness fron grand employees.

My review is only for the store on East Little Creek. HORRIBLE! is the only word to describe this store. My husband and I bought new LG front loader washers and dryers. When we picked up the washer, we realized that it was a the wrong one. My initial reaction was that it had been an honest mix up, give them a chance to fix the situation. Well, after calling the store with no response, my husband went down to the store, as it turns out, we were charged for the LG but they had ordered a Frigedair washer/dryer. We have had no resolve with the company yet, but commenting off the other post with being treated like "ghetto", If there is no resolve with the issue, I will make another post and make some serious complaints to the main office. The store manager is always "out". I REFUSE to pay LG prices for a bottom of the line Frigedair machine! ABSOLUTLY UNACCEPTABLE! If I could rate them with ZERO stars, I would. Stay away from this store, unless you want to deal with SHADY DISHONEST sales people. I had bought a lot of sets from Grand before, and had never ever had issues. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I purchased expensive leather furniture 2 yrs. ago from Grand furniture in Winchester, Va. The leather on the sofa looks like I have had it for 20 yrs. I contaoted the store and they basically said oh well too bad. Do not purchase furniture from them they sell junk and do not honor warranties.

I bought furniture with this company under a promotion they ran for 500 dollars in free groceries. The company they used to fufill this went out of business and for 5 months I've gotten a run around from Grand with unreturned calls, promises to get back to me and they never do. I am now looking for a attorney in hopes to persue a class action lawsuit against them. Very rude staff, lots of "disconnected" calls and a manager who claims he doesn't get any of my many many messages. How a company that claims to take in 35 million a year stays in business with "customer service" tactics like this is beyond me. Get your act together Grand Furniture!!

I bought furniture with this company under a promotion they ran for 500 dollars in free groceries. The company they used to fufill this went out of business and for 5 months I've gotten a run around from Grand with unreturned calls, promises to get back to me and they never do. I am now looking for a attorney in hopes to persue a class action lawsuit against them. Very rude staff, lots of "disconnected" calls and a manager who claims he doesn't get any of my many many messages. How a company that claims to take in 35 million a year stays in business with "customer service" tactics like this is beyond me. Get your act together Grand Furniture!!

Grand Furniture - Nightmare - I have nothing good to say about them!!!!!!!!!!Barbara and Courtney below must work for Grand Furniture because certainly no one could possibly be that happy about having dealt with the ignorant inconsiderate staff at any of their stores. I have ran into the most uneducated and inconsiderate people from VA Beach to Newport News. The furniture that I am in debt to them for isn't worth the money, the warranty is junk and GOD forbid if you miss a payment and have to deal with Lisa Mitchell (collections) or her manager - You suddenly run into a completely WORSE attitude than to ghettoans that you deal with otherwise. I had the very first piece of furniture delivered with a broken glass and was insulted by the delivery staff, the store manager and everyone in between. I had to call the owner to get any resolution. IN SHORT...DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM GRAND FURNITURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My family bought a living room set from Grand Furniture in Virginia Beach and I can say with all honesty... the furniture is junk, we paid close to $3000 for a sectional, recliner etc. AND bought the extended service plan (What a joke) it started to fall apart soon after we got it home, when we tried to contact them about the problems, we got nothing but GANG STA, GHETTO attitude!! "Please Note" I am not an angry person, I try not to hold grudges against anyone, I am a professional business person but the service in this place is ridiculous, it is impossible to get someone that seems to have an education above the 5th grade on the phone, they are rude, vulgar, disrespectful.... about like you would imagine from a real bad experience in a burger king drive thru. None of the problems have been resolved and we have given up due to the level of disrespect we must endure every time we attempt to communicate with this place.. Never Again!! Needless to say I will not do business with Grand furniture again and I will be sure to spreed the word every opportunity I get! .WHAT A NIGHTMARE.

I furnished my first apartment in the Norfolk area with furniture from this store. They have a decent variety of furniture to choosefrom and offer free delivery. Not all of their furniture is of the highest quality but I've found some of these less expensive items to be adequate for furnishing my home. I am particularly happy with the mattress that I purchased from Grand Furniture. They do have a website but it is disappointing to find that it does not include views of their available furniture. Instead, the "show room" gives a brief description of their selection.
