We absolutely love this office. My husband, son and I all have different dentists working on our teeth, but we like each of them.

I am extremely nervous (to the point of phobia) about dentists, and I made sure to be very clear with them about it. They treated me with the utmost respect and were very gentle, asking me the whole time if I was ok or if I needed a minute to relax. (I had a root canal done.) I still have another root canal and two wisdom teeth to have pulled, and although I dread it simply because I don't like the IDEA of it, I know they will take excellent care of me.

The dentist who did work on my son was absolutely wonderful as well.

I've read the other review, and can't help but wonder if they do indeed need their wisdom teeth pulled or not. I had dentists tell me I should have mine done years ago, I refused, and now I have root canals and crowns being put in because the pressure from my wisdom teeth cracked the teeth nearby. If the other reviewer does indeed need them pulled, yes, I do believe the dentist would be pushy about it, because they want what is best for you (and of course, they want your business.) I believe the dentist had the best of intentions about it, personally.

They've even managed to be patient with my work, which isn't something I can say about other dentists. They know what work I still need done, but they know we have a budget and also that I am phobic about the work, and when I come in with my son they ask me if I'm ready to make my appointment yet but don't give me any guilt trips about it. Unless you've had that done to you, you may not understand how rare that is. I appreciate it. Other dentists have pushed me even when I said I couldn't afford work done!

PROS: excellent work, friendly, gentle, family friendly
CONS: I do wish they were open later, but most dentists aren't

I made an appointment with Mendelsohn and Stange in order to get a temporary cap on one of my front teeth replaced. At my initial consultation, the dentist said that he wanted to remove my (healthy) wisdom teeth at the next appointment. I declined, stating that I merely wanted my cap replaced. He told me that he "was going to put it on my chart anyway." I again told him no. A couple of weeks later when I returned to get my new cap, lo and behold the nurse started setting me up to get my wisdom teeth removed, since the doctor had put it in my file anyway. I once again told them NO, and they finally replaced my cap and I never went back. I would NOT recommend this dentist at all!
