I have been going to Champlain Hair Affair for over three years. I drive over 2 hours to get there, and I have always seen Tammy. Contrary to another comment about her left here, Tammy is professional and friendly and highly qualified! Sometimes in the past, I have sat down and said do something you think will look nice, and she has done a spectacular job every time! When I want something specific, she does a great job executing it. The atmosphere in there is nice, and you feel like you are being well taken care of everytime. They offer you drinks (coffee, tea, water) and a snack (cookies and such). It sounds like the other person who was going there had a bad expereience from the beginning! If its worth if for me to drive so far than it must be good right!?

I was VERY disappointed to hear that Cherie is no longer with this salon. Not in any way because I had an attachment to the salon itself (if anything, I have never been very impressed with many aspects) but because Cherie is the absolute BEST in so many ways. They were very unwilling to help me find where she is now working. I called twice & was told two completely different stories from two different employees. They lied to me even though I have been a loyal client for many many years. They are obviously being very vindictive & deceitful in dealing with this situation. They are cheating Cherie out of what she is entitled to after years of hard work. Also, it is the customer's right to be given accurate information in order to then come to a decision, on their own, as to whether they follow their stylist or not. Cherie will be followed. She is an amazing stylist & an even more amazing person. I have finally found her through a former co-worker & she is now working directly across the street from Champlain Hair at STELLETTA SALON. The # there is 878-9921. Hopefully this can help anyone else who is struggling to find our darling style genius & make the connection needed to continue getting perfect hair & genuine frienship. She is one of a kind!!! How she is being treated from Champlain Hair Affair is unacceptable & they should be ashamed of themselves!!

As a client of the salon, i have the utmost respect for the staff...Their knowledge and professionalism is what makes the enviroment a relaxing experience...They all ROCK!!!!

Cherie and Lois are amazing! I love this salon. Haircuts are ALWAYS Great! This is a true salon, not your average mall hair cut chain. They do an amazing job and with the utmost quality and care. Highly recommended to anyone.

I did not like this salon from the moment I walked in. I was reffered to them by my aunt who sees Ruth. When I called I was persuaded to see Tammy because Ruth was booked up for a while. The woman on the phone made it sound as if I'd never get in with her so I agreed. BIG mistake. The white haired older lady was at the desk & never spoke one word to me the entire 40 minutes I waited for Tammy. Like it was normal to be sitting there that long & she owed me no consideration. Once I sat with Tammy, she never apologized, she over-talked me the entire time I tried to explain what I wanted. She was trying to tell me what I wanted like she knew better than me. So rude & insulting. She spoke inappropriately several times & chit chatted with a co-worker right in front of me about her husband & all these problems they were having. OMG!!! In the end, she cut my hair way shorter than I wanted & it was the worse I've ever looked. Choppy, uneven & shaved in the neck like a man. She lacked any sign of skill & must rely solely on overpowering conversations to convince customers otherwise. My aunt has heard similar complaints from a friend of hers who used to see Tammy....No skill or true interest in the client. Sorry I didn't get to meet Ruth, but I will not be going back. Don't risk it!!! There are many better salons than over-priced Champlain Hair Affair!!!

Cherie does an excellent job with my hair. I usually let her do what she thinks is best, and my shoulder length, straightish hair has never been better. She sometimes is a bit rushed and rough - I have been nervous that she has been careless, but I always get a great cut that looks good for three months.

My stylist raised her prices, so I shopped around for my next four hairs. I ended up with a year of bad hair. I'm back to Champlain Hair Affair and it's worth it.

PROS: I love the Aveda products.
CONS: Expensive-ish
