Rutland Country Club is really more of a golf club. The course itself is a jewel by any estimation, very well maintained, old school feel (established 1903) that comes only with courses of it's age, extraordinarily challenging greens complexes, and though while short by todays tour standards the 6300 yards of lush terrain plays longer than its yardage suggests and is a fun challenge by golfers of varied abilities. If you can manage to play with a member rates are substantially cheaper than without, but worth it either way! If you are in the neighborhood this golf course is a must play.

Rutland Country Club is where I learned to play golf from my uncle Theo. I really enjoyed hanging around with my uncle and his friends even if they insisted on listening to Dean Martin on the 8 track player. I don't play much golf these days, maybe half a dozen times a year. We always head for the Rutland Country Club. It is a fine course and has a friendly atmosphere. The terrain is interesting and I especially enjoy hitting the links during foliage season.
