Mexicali Authentic Mexican

I use to love going to Mexicali's. That was until one time we were refused a bowl when we asked the waitress. We wanted a reg size bowl so we could also fit the chips in it, the plastic take home cups are way too small and so we didn't waste a million of there little plastic cups for the salsa bar. Also we use to dine there a lot... now we order takeout. And we never sure what to expect. We always order the same thing but sometimes there's no chicken in the burrito's or u get a tbsp of rice or maybe u get 4 cups of rice. Last night we ordered take out and our order was screwed up twice! We called the first time and they gave us replacement burritos but they were very rude about it and they screwed up the second set also! I just wish that they were a lil bit more consistent!

Not impressed. Food very bland. Thought all the choices on Salsa bar disgusting. However not from the area so can't compare other Mexican restaurants around here. If you want real Mexican food don't come here.

I love their Chilequiles! Mexicalli is a nice change from the downtown Burlington scene and a great place to grab a bite to eat before heading out shopping or out to see a flick next door!
