Hands down the best sandwich place in Rutland... It's somethign i look forward to every time i visit my parents!! some may tell you to check out Gills... but, really folks, Maxie's is waaay better! And, sorry Amanda, but I have to say that the fact that you can get cabbage (they do offer lettuce, too) makes it that much better--not somethign many places offer!

Maxie's is an icon,I can't beleive they are still around! The first time I went there was what, 20 years ago? My inlaws live by Maxie's but they use cabage instead of lettuce - yucky!
