I bought snow tires for my car from Brandon last year. I shopped around and the price they had was good and the tires are great. The reason I am writing this is because I was at this place yesterday when all of the snow and ice hit getting my snow tires put on. This place was a zoo. They had 3 customers for every employee and everyone was running around. A guy comes in looking for chains. Apparently they had told the guy they had the chains but had sold them. He said he'd been searching for chains all day and was desperate. This is the part I could not believe the guy behind the counter (didn't get his name) went and took chains off his personal vehicle and gave them to the customer. I am sure that the customer would have understood that they sold out of his chains at least he should have but to give the chains off of his own truck that is amazing. That kind of concern for a customer and desire to please is just not something you see everyday. No wonder I feel good about doing business here. My car was even done 15 minutes early.

I recently wrote a review sharply criticizing Affordable Tire and Brake in their assessment of a problem with my car. The owner, Tony Reeves, found out who I was and contacted me. He was very concerned for the reputation of his business, but more concerned that I had a poor experience with his company. He asked me to come into the shop with my car so he could personally assess the problem and work out a solution. I took the car to the shop and met with Tony and the mechanics who worked on the car. After driving it and putting it on the rack, Tony carefully and completely explained the situation with the car. He told me what would happen if I put off the repair but did not urge me to have it done immediately.
Tony impressed me because he took the trouble to find me and then spent an hour with me finding the problem and a solution. I have written complaints, as well as compliments, to other companies but have rarely even had a reply, let alone an offer to correct the problem. It is obvious that Tony cares deeply about his company and wants his employees to provide honest and accurate service to the customers. I retract my previous review; I intend to continue taking my car to Affordable Tire and Brake. I appreciate that the owner took the time to solve the problem.

I went in this place today to have a tire fixed. I was late to pick up my son from daycare. I noticed my tire was almost flat this place was the closest tire store to my work. I went in and they were full in all of the bays and it was obvious that I would not get my tire fixed quick. The guy said it would take about 2 hrs to fix my tire. I explained my problem and said I'd have to change it myself. The guy said drive it in. They stopped what they were doing and put on my spare in 3 minutes flat. I left my tire and returned a few hours later they put on my repaired tire AND DIDN'T CHARGE A DIME! You could have knocked me over with a feather! I have never had service like that in Seattle. They have sure got my business!

The First time I went in I just needed to have a tire fixed. They were very nice and when they were done they didn't even charge me. But they did remind me that I was ready for the 30,000 mile maintenance service. The dealer had already sent me a notice so I was going to take it in there anyway. I was kind of surprised that they did that kind of stuff since there name but they were so nice and friendly I let them do it. They charged me $129 and did it in one day. The dealer said it would be $420! and I'd have to leave it for 3 days. The dealer has loaner cars but for the price I could rent one for about a month.
This was about 4 years ago and I have been back for other stuff and they have always been fast and reasonable even when I ask them to do little stuff like changing a bulb or patching a tire.
They are always busy and I can see why.

The Audi dealer quoted me $500 to fix my brakes. I knew I could get it done for less else where. Affordable Tire and Brake said they would use factory pads and do the job for $189. Seemed like a good deal so I made the appointment
Sure enough the day before my appointment my wipers quit. I called the dealer (can't live in Seattle without wipers) they said sure they could get it in and give me a nice A4 to drive but it would cost $180 to diagnose the problem. OK so I am thinking $180 to figure out the problem a couple hunny to fix it (if I'm lucky) and I still have to pay for my brakes.
Sooooo the wipers wait I go in to fix the brakes at Affordable Tire... They had a lot of good reviews so I was kind of suprised to see the place was kind of a hole in the wall. Not dirty but old and kind of dumpy and not laid out well for an auto shop. Really small with no parking but the shop seemed to have good newish equipment.
I ask "hey, can you take a look at my wipers?" The dude says ok but there will be a fee of $80 to check them out. Its better than $180 so go ahead.
3 hrs later I get the call your cars done. I said "what was the problem with the wipers oh" I don't know" he says so I'm thinking ok they forgot to check my wipers. So the guy comes back and says "Just a loose clamp on the arm thing" So how much "oh no charge for that".
So I go to pick up my car and they didn't even charge the inspection fee! Just fixed my brakes for $189. no charge for the wiper repair or inspection.
Hey, I don't need a new loaner car for $500. Thanks Guys. You will get all my business and anyone who will listen. You rock!!
Pros: competent and cheap
Cons: had to schedule 3 days in advance
I came to Affordable Tire & Brake after getting a recommendation from a friend. My first experience was good, they were very friendly and it was an enjoyable experience. The rates were decent, but the wait was long. My second experience was the complete opposite. I came back to get a part replaced (same as the first visit), but they doubled my price and gave me a lot of attitude. It was almost as if they didn't want to repair the car and it through me off because my first visit was so great. The attitude came from one person who may have had a bad day, but the attitude & doubling the price for the exact same repair convinced me to never come back.
Cons: Inconsistent, Long Wait
I had taken my car to 3 other shops in the area and spent over $600 because my car was making a horrible noise sounded like my car was going to fall apart in the street. My boyfriend suggested I take my car here. Noise was as bad as ever. I stopped in twice and they couldn't get me in so I finally made an appointment.
When I dropped the car off they asked me to go on a test drive with them to hear the noise. None of the other shops took the time to drive the car with me to hear the noise.(maybe thats why they couldn't fix it). After we drove it I left it with them.
The guy called me about 3 hrs later and I cringed to hear the price. The problem was a loose bolt they tightened it and the noise was gone. The price $0. What ZERO? The guy said he couldn't charge for tightening a bolt.
After being promised 3 times it was fixed I really didn't believe them. Sure enough no noise anymore.
They didn't even charge for the inspection! Now I can see why they are so busy. They could have told me that some $500 whosie hatsit was bad and I would have been none the wiser. Is that what the other shops did?
Affordable tire gets 2 thumbs up!!
Pros: competent and professional
Cons: busy place had to make an appointment to get in
I needed new tires for my car. I shopped around and found a couple places that had my tires for what seemed like a good price. I went here beacause they were close to my house and had a good price. The service was great the car was done right on time. While they were working on it they asked me to come out and take a look at something. They pointed out a couple of repairs that needed to be done. What I really liked is they showed me where my oil was leaking and why my tires needed to be aligned. No aggressive pushing to fix it just showed me the problem. I didn't have time to fix it right away but they gave me a price and I went home and shopped around to see if the price was reasonable. The price they gave me was by far the best I found. I made an appointment to get the work done and again dropped the car off at the appointed time and it was done by the time they said it would be. I am happy to say this this is a good shop and a place that I can highly recommend
Pros: Fast service good prices
Cons: very busy place
here is the story. I had an appointment at noon. I arrived there 10 mins earlier and saw a BMW being fixed. A manager, Brandon, told me that my car would be the next one after the BMW, which would be done in 10 mins. I waited for 40 mins and saw a wagon getting fixed after BMW, so i asked why it wasn't mine. The manager said this car would be done real quick probably 10 mins, so I was ok. Meanwhile, I just recognize that he gave me a quote just $80, not $90 as stated in the estimated price in their work sheet. So, I asked about this and he said here was the price list. It was labeled here on the wall and I couldn't do it at $80. It's up to you if you wanna leave. At that point, I had been waiting for almost an hour so I thought it's just $10, I shouldn't give up. I had been waiting until 1.30PM and pretty sure that mine would not get fixed in the next hour since a mechanic fixing the wagon told me that he was on just a half way. I asked the manager again that what time you would let mine in. The answer was I could grab your key real quick and you could go!!
Question, what is the point of making an appointment? Whatever it is, I wrote this just because I wanna let you know that this place provides an undoubtedly BAD SERVICE, so DON'T GO THERE.
This place is way more trouble than it's worth! I had a appointment at 11 am and was told it would be ready in a hour. I waited around for 4 hours! Each time i checked in they assured me that my car was the next in line, but they lied! The last time i checked in with them and finally got mad, they put the car right up and changed the oil, but of course they skipped rotating the tires as i had requested! Don't bother checking these guys out, their service is terrible!
Pros: They send free oil change vouchers to their neighbors
Cons: They don't have the service to make it worth while
About a week ago I was getting the oil changed on my car I have a 10 year old Honda and though I try to take good care of it, its needing more and more attention these days. The Manager of the oil change place said I needed brakes. I asked how much and he says $300. That seemed a little high to me and I wasn't really impressed with the place so I didn't let them fix it.
I asked my brother about it and he said to take it ito Affordable Tire and Brake. They check it out and they also agreed that I needed brakes. They showed me how my pads were worn down and what it should look like if its not worn and they were definately worn out.
Then the best part they said they could fix them for $130. Sounded good to me. I had them fix them and they work great, car was done that afternoon like they said it would be and everyone there was nice and attentive and best of all the car works great.
I have been going to Affordable Tire for a few years now. I am always pleased with the work and satisfied with the price. The times I have checked around they are cheaper than other shops. I don't usually take the time to rate places but these guys really deserve a pat on the back. People looking for a good shop need to go here.
Pros: good work, fast and good price
I have been to the Affordable Tire and Brake on 4-5 times for different services but this time I had to let people know what a great place this is. I have always had good service and been pleased with the price. I went in with a flat tire- completely flat I was on my way to work. They got my car right in because I told them I was on the way to work. After a couple of minutes the manager guy showed me the tire was all torn up because I drove on it while it was flat. So now I need a new tire of course its some odd size that they don't carry in stock (04 Mini Cooper). I am panicking and the manager guy offers me a loaner tire so I can get to work without having to drive the day on my little donut spare. They put it on and I am out of there in 26 mins flat. They have the new tire by that afternoon and I get it put on after work at 5:30 on my way home. Fast service, good prices and nice guys. Thanks so much!
Pros: Very good service and prices
Cons: Haven't found one yet
Great prices and great service!.
First time I came here was about a year ago they sold me some good tires at a surprisingly good price. I was pleasantly impressed that they put them on and got me out of there earlier than they promised by about 15 mins. About 6 mos. later I had a flat. I called they said they'd fix it free and I was pleased that they actually fixed it free and surprisingly fast. A few days ago my brakes started making noise my budget is really tight right now so I went to a place that has a reputation for cheap repairs and they gave me a price of $400 to fix my brakes. Way more than I expected and I did not have the money. I called my Dad to borrow some and he suggested I take it to Affordable Tire. I forgot they did brakes and I was very satisfied with my tires so I paid the $40 the other shop charged for the inspection and took it to these guys.
They fixed my brakes for $140 with tax, no hassle no drama, car was done when it was supposed to be and works great! I won't forget they do all kinds of repairs next time.Thiese guys act like they love their job and everyone seems happy, never had that happen at a repair shop before. I didn't even have to borrow money from my Dad.
Pros: Really pleasant place if you have to fix your car.
Cons: Had to wait 2 days to bring my car in they are very busy.
I've problably been to this shop 10 times in 10 years. Must have sent 10 other people I know. Great small town type service and great prices.
Pros: price, work quality
Cons: not enough parking
As far as Seattle auto repair goes, Affordable Tire and Brake has got to be one of the best for scamming it's customers. If you take your vehicle there for repairs, other than free flat repairs or an oil change, you are taking a huge risk with your money, time and vehicle. They have a bad habit of not telling their customers the whole story... immediately. Let me explain; When you take your car there for repairs they will inspect your vehicle and give you an estimate of repairs. Fine. You authorize the repair because it's cheaper than anywhere else in Seattle. Then, an hour or so later, they call you and tell you there is a problem with some other component. Unfortunately, you already authorized the previous repairs and it can't be completed without spending more money. Basically they hold your car hostage until you spend the money or toe your car out. They already knew that the component was damaged ahead of time but they want to present you a smaller-cost estimate so that you will agree to some of the work. There are about 2, actually honest employees in the entire company, and only 1 of them is behind the counter. 1 of them is NOT the owner. Don't waist your time and money on these guys. It's not worth the drama. P.S. The other review was made by the owner's wife LOL
Pros: Free Flat repairs
Cons: Con Artist's
I had gotten a price on the brakes elsewhere and was not comfortable with the price of the shop. Was recommended by my Brother to try these guys. They not only explained what needed to be fixed but showed me. And charged 30% less than the other guys! Car works great now!
Pros: freindly, fast and reasonably priced
Cons: hard location to find
