First I have to say I have never in my life walked into a dealer and seen every single employee with a smile on their face and a great attitude toward each other and their customers.

What a fantastic buying experience. Cresta was able to answer every question I had on Forester's and guide me to what would be the best fit at the same time providing the lowest pressure atmosphere I could imagine. It was well worth the drive from Lake Stevens to do business with Carter Subaru and Cresta.

I just bought my first car since 1998. Since I didn't know what I wanted, I shopped many brands and model types. The best sales person I had during my several-month search was Warren Haynes at Carter Subaru. He gave me lots of information about various Subaru models and I drove them all - more than once. Never did he try to pressure me into the most expensive model. Other dealer sales people did, and my view of their cars suffered as a result.

I really appreciate a sales person who listens to what I want and answers my questions rather than focusing solely on his own agenda! Warren never tried to talk me into that luscious (but out-of-my-price-range) fully loaded floor model. Instead, he constantly pointed out ways that I could keep costs down but still get the most important (to me) accessories. Everyone with whom I dealt at Carter was wonderful and I have ended up with a fantastic Subaru Legacy with a few "luxury" options that I know I will enjoy and can afford.

I highly recommend Carter Subaru and salesman Warren Haynes.

Bought my second Subaru today--went to Carter Subaru in Shoreline, through David North.

I found David to be an excellent salesman--friendly, polite, and completely appropriate. No high pressure, no smarmy oily salesman behavior.

I've purchased 6 cars over the last 30 or so years and this was by far the easiest and most comfortable purchase I have ever made. I feel like I got an excellent deal and didn't have to claw my way to a resolution.

David North and I communicated via internet for a few days before I could get over to the dealership. When I changed my mind about the car I thought I wanted, he had no problem looking at multiple cars and working through the process of finding what I wanted--even though it was 25 degrees and snowing and he'd forgetten his coat!

Travis Bleken was very helpful during the financing. Everything was easy going and completely honest and above board.

If you're smart enough to buy a Subaru, you're smart enough to buy one here. Be sure to talk to David North.

I spoke with Carter Subaru about a car they were advertising. They told me everything was excellent and no problems. They said electric windows and leather upholstery. I drove 160 miles to see vehicle. Once on site the salesman treated me like I was stupid and misrepresented car. Additional, engine dummy lights were on, it missed and lacked any power on acceleration.

I can understand "puffing" a vehicle for sale...but for God's sake, don't treat 66 year old cash customers like they are stupid or tell them it is their imagination when a car is not running correctly...and don't lie when a direct question is asked.

It was just what I wanted, they had to lie. How petty (In my opinion.)

I recently bought a new 2011 Subaru Outback Limited from Carter Subaru. From the first moment I walked on the lot, I was having fun. I was greeted by a non pushy friendly gentleman named Jim who I told that I was just looking. But he spent a few hours with me and shared all the new options and information about every detail of the car. We looked at different Subaru's and compared them, new and used in different price ranges. I never felt rushed. We went for a test ride and I was hooked. I wanted to drive one right off the lot.. But of course I had to order a color they didn't have just then. Jim contacted me several times to update me on my new Subaru's arrival. I called his cell on a day he was not working and he called me right back.. And when my new car finally arrived he spent another hour with me and made sure I knew how to work everything before I drove away... The whole experience was absolutely positive and fun. . We drove to Carter Subaru even though there are two other Subaru dealers closer to our home because they had a large inventory to look at. We walked in thinking that we wanted a Forester XT and after talking with our sales person and test driving an X we decided to go for the X. I was impressed that the sales person suggested looking at a car that cost less than what we went in looking at.

In 2003 I bought a brand new legacy Outback wagon, and what piece of junk. The head gaskets have gone out twice, the second time due to the carter mechanics incorrectly repairing it the first time, the computer system had to be replaced, and they also incorrectly replaced the brakes and then refused to repair/ refund my money, so i had to go to another garage to get the brakes fixed. The customer service is extremely bad. The employees are rude. I will never buy another subaru, they have lost a life long customer. STAY AWAY from carter subaru!

The second time due to the mechanics at Carter Subaru incorrectly replacing the original head gasket, which in turn caused more damage to the motor. it cost me $3600 to fix Carters mistake. two years ago i had all four brakes replaced, the I had to have the front brakes replaced again as the mechanics at Carter installed the front brakes incorrectly. Carter refused to compensate me for the repairs. Customer service is terrible. Carter Subaru has managed to lose a life long subaru customer and fan. I will never by subaru again.

Carter Subaru in Shoreline has truly been good to my family over the years. I brought my old Subaru wagon here for service for years and they always treated me as if I bought my car there. When I was ready to get a new car, Carlos, one of the sales persons, was very helpful and understanding and did everything he could to give me a good deal. I had researched the purchase and knew how much to expect to pay. We did not haggle and everything we did in the business transacation was low pressue and on the up-and-up, they even went after my old dealership to get a refund on the leftover service policy.

In terms of service, Carter has been excellent. They always make things better in their service department. They give you a loaner car (now only if you bought your car there because it's become so popular) but most of the time you can wait while they do they work. They have build a new service center for quick work (like recalls, oil changes, tire rotations, etc). They have Internet access, espresso machines, and a comfy space to wait in while the work is being done, but also they're right across the street from a supermarket so I can get some shopping done.

I'm a big fan of Carlos and Carter Subaru in Shoreline. They have always treated me right.

PROS: Great service; friendly sales people; informed shoppers are treated well
CONS: Not enough car selection on the lot
