Hector's is a great breakfast place!

by Laurie C. | insider Insider | Rank: 32,474

Boating to Hector's and eggs benedict on the weekend is the best! It's the only meal I've had their and it was delicious. Great location and atmosphere. Definitely worth a trip.

Great breakfast spot!

by sara B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,983

Hector's staff is always friendly, helpful and fast. I have always been able to get a table, even during a busy Saturday or Sunday morning and the food is always very good.
No complaints---fast, fun, great staff and great food.

by krystle w. | insider Insider | Rank: 26,390

Food is amazing, and I think it's every Monday night over the summer they have an all you can eat king crab.. Food can be a little pricey but worth it.

disappointed

by ericbm

Used to have the club sandwhich with thick sliced real turkey, now its thin cheap meat, yuck! They must be cutting costs for the worse.

Pros: ambience

Cons: over priced, poor quality food

Meh

by scottwb

Not a bad place. Not too many teenagers. And not a dive bar. After that, I don't have much to say other than that I think it smacks of suction that I have to type at least 100 characters in order for my review to be posted.

Pros: The only decent bar in kirkland

Cons: Too many 40 year olds

Best Breakfast on the eastside!

by Chrismartin11

This is by far the best breakfast on the eastside. There selection of egg dishes all the way to the basic bowl of granola is fantastic. Don't forget to try the apple smoke sausage!

Best Place in Kirkland

by KCrane289

Being fairly new to the area I have checked out pretty much all the hang outs in Kirkland and Hector's is by far the best. Many of the local bars have a dingy outdated appearance to them and look as though the only renovations they have gone through in the past 15 years are some new televisions.

Hectors however is a different story, the actual bar seems to be an antique that has been beautifully kept, the chairs are extremely comfortable and the entire atmosphere is modern mixed with a comfortable feel, not the trendy anemic minimalist bars that seem to be swelling in popularity. The service is knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The only thing Hector's really lacks is a good draft beer selection as they only seem to have 4 beers on tap.

Pros: Ambience, Location

Cons: Beer selection

Pros: great food!

Cons: parking is lame

great food, poor service

by kdberdan

Hector's has delicious salads and great sandwichs. However, the service is slow, and the waitresses always seem as though you are bothering them anytime you ask for anything. If they weeded through the poor servers, this place would be outstanding!

Pros: salads, fish and chips, club sandwich

Cons: service

Always good, always fun & perfect for game day.

by georgia_lee_w

We go here about once a week and always love the casual atomosphere and good, hot comfort food. Try the Crab Mac and Cheese and you'll be in love. Hector's burger is a sure bet too! Cocktails are done right, good beer on tap, and my favorite, the 1/2 glass wine option. Not a stuffy crowd and the price is right on the money. Looking to just chill, head to the back and sit by the fireplace. This is our favorite place to meet friends and have a good time together.

Pros: hot, tasty food, casual crowd, fireplace in back

Cons: average service, but friendly!

What happened to this place, it used to be my fav on the Kirkland Waterfront

by sommerdreams

Walking in to celebrate our friends birthday my friends and I were commenting on how this was our favorite place in Kirkland. The host was very kind and got us a spot, but it went down hill after that! The waitress we could not tell was either on her first night or last. Which ever way it was she was horrible. I have been in the service industry for years and have a lot of patience bad service. This time was out of hand, so I had to say something. The food took over an hour, the waitress did not seem to care was arrogant and rude. not sure I will be going back. Hint to Hector's hire staff that knows what they are doing, or give the support they need to be successful!

Pros: good food great breakfast

Cons: service

Bad customer service!

by foodlvr10

When you walk in the atmosphere is nice but then once you sit down you realize how bad the service is. Not only did we have to wait 15 minutes for a drink order but thereafter that our server was not only rude but rushing us through our meal. She started picking up our plates when we hadn't even finished our meal. The food was also so mediocre. Don't waste your money eating there!

Pros: I cant say there are any pros

Cons: Bad service, mediocre food

DO NOT GO THERE

by pepper_274

I am not the type of person that would complain, but this place is really not worth visiting. It is not just that it it not nice enough,it trully suuuucks.....
I had so called Chicken fried steak -it had some wierd sause on top, they served two kind of runny eggs (supposed to be poached) with it in a little side dish that was still wet and warm from washing-grose,really grose. The steak was chewy and it did not taste like meat.Oh at Hectors I had the worst hashbrowns ever-cold, definetely not fresh and BURNED - way overcooked, but COLD,probably a couple of days old.....Sounds hard to believe, but I am serious people!!!!
The servers seemed not too happy to be there...After waiting for my coffee over 20 minutes I never got a refill..
Definetely unattentive and nto really friendly.

Pros: none

Cons: bad food,bad staff

Fabulous salads, very attentive experienced staff

by joyceleap

What a great find! A great place to meet up with friends, have a drink & a good variety of choices on the menu. Their garden toss salad with a blackened salmon is my favorite.
The servers are all very nice and experienced. They seem to really want you to have a good time.
I also discovered 4 hour free parking at the library nearby as Kirkland is limited on their parking.
Oh yeah, their breakfast is great!!!

Great bar and grill for every occasion.

by senatoradam

This place is awesome. Great drinks, great food, great service. The staff are all very friendly and fun. This place is a nice stop and relax on the couches for a drink when on a walk along the water, and also a great place to go have lunch or dinner in the large restaurant area. The appetizers are amazing, especially the nachos! Plus, they have a big selection of drinks on the menu, and the drinks are quality. Fully recommend!

Pros: Food, Service, Comfort

Cons: None except that it gets busy at times, but that means it's good!

great friendly service and good eats

by ericafalkowski

In my opinion Hector's is one of the best finds in Kirkland. Many of you may remember this as a greasy spoon known for stiff drinks. A little on the wild side. Not to say it wasn't a great time, but things have changed since then. About three years ago the owner changed and so did some of the dynamics of the place. This place is no longer a greasy spoon. Although they did maintain the idea of serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the quality of the food changed drastically. You can order anything from a crab cake benedict for breakfast to a French Dip for lunch to a fillet at dinner. Oh, but you can also stay in a moderate price range by ordering a burger for dinner too. They also have a good selection of appetizers and bar food. I think the macaroni and cheese is a delicious appetizer, that is made from scratch and the nachos are one of the best I have found. If you are feeling a little more on the healthy side, indulge yourself in some tasty Ahi.

In regards to the atmosphere, I think the bar is one of the greatest features about the place. The eclectic artwork and huge comfy chairs make it a great place to relax and enjoy yourself. It's a perfect place to impress a date with a delicious pomegranate martini or a McCall en 18; or just a place to meet up with old friends for a casual Guiness.

As for the service, I think it is one of the nicest staffs in town. We eat out a lot, and I have yet to find service this good elsewhere ( without breaking the bank). Chances are, if you come in regularly they will know you by name and have your drink waiting.

It is also a great place to watch sports. Football is probably the biggest. Make sure you get there early for Sunday football, the place gets packed. Oh and don't be surprised if you run into a few of the Seahawks. Not uncommon to see Matt Hasselbeck dining with his family, or Hall of Famer Warren Moon with his entourage. Overall, you won't be disappointed!!!!!

Pros: ambience, service, food

Cons: Kirkland parking
