Hazeldell Animal Hospital

My fiance and I are new in town and we got a 4 month old boxer mix at the humane society. He got sick, supposedly kennel cough from the vet at Hazel Dell. The staff was nice but the vet was incomepetent in my eyes. He shotgunned out things for him to take to make him better as far as medicines and food without doing any blood tests, x-rays, temperature taking. He didn't seem professional. We took him back again because the dog was getting worseand it appeared was shocked at seeing us again. Anyway we've been having a hard time getting food down our dog and he suggested liverwurst around the pills, said every dog loves liverwurst. Well this one didn't. We took our doggy to another veterinarian hospital for a second opinion and this one was professional, gave us an accurate assessment of our dog with weighing him, ear, nose, throat and teeth examinations, got full background and scenario of what his symptoms were and when. He took x-rays and blood tests as well. We got the results back from the blood tests today and the dog has pneumonia, not kennel cough. We're treating it with the second anti-biotic and today he's 75% better. If we stayed with Hazel Dell who knows what would have happened. Thumbs down, one star is the lowest I could go.

Dr Slowcum is the way to go. He is great, doesn't do unnecessary procedures like a lot of the vets in the Vancouver area to rack up your bill and is very helpful to those on a tight budget. My family has been using them for years and I will continue to do so myself.

Not too long ago I had to take my friend's dog in for an emergency leg injury while dog sitting at my friend's house. The doctor and staff at Hazeldell were friendly and helpful. The waiting area and rooms were clean and smelled nice. At a difficult time of panic about my friend's dog this was a friendly and easy place to wait for an appointment.

We have been going here for years and the staff is really great. I really like that they are a walk-in clinic, so you don't have to have an appointment ahead of time. They are very good with your pets and when we recently had to put our dog to sleep they were so helpful and sympathetic. The waiting area is clean and there are no odors. Their office prices are very reasonable.
