When you eat at the Black Diamond Bakery you know you'll leave with lots of extra food! Their serving sizes are huge! Great view and great location. I really do like the food, but the service isn't the best, especially during busy times. Don't go there on the weekend if you are in a hurry. Will be back!

Went to this place for the first time after having it recommended for its cinnamon rolls. We got 2 cinnamon rolls, a loaf of raisin nut bread, and a loaf of pumpkin bread. The bill came to $17 and some. The cinnamon rolls are whole wheat, which I was excited about, but they are filled with some kind of apple pie filling from a can that was pretty awful. Worse, the breads were terrible. I'm not sure I've met a pumpkin bread or raisin bread I didn't like before, but these would fit the bill. Tried eating the raisin bread as is and couldn't finish more than 2 bites, then gave it the benefit of the doubt by toasting and buttering it, and it's still tasteless and frankly just very stale. Wish we hadn't wasted our money. Maybe the restaurant is better, but the bakery wasn't worth the trip.

Cons: stale bread, tasteless, pricey

I am so sad to say this local landmark has gone downhill. I am willing to pay for exceptional food but the last few times we came here, the food was just average. Our bill today came to $28. One Italian scramble, one donut, one cinnamon roll. Two orange juices and one apple juice and one coffee.
The scramble was nowhere near as good as it used to be. The sausage tasted old. It was a huge portion, that part hasn't changed. The cinnamon roll was half dry and chewy (the interior was good) and the last 3 or 4 rolls have been the same. The worst part?
They used to serve fresh squeezed orange juice. We got frozen concentrate, and each glass was $3.75. Wow. I can't recommend this place anymore :(.

Pros: Great View of Mt Rainier

Cons: Pricey for Average Food

I received a gift certificate for the restaurant.. They refused to honor the certificate because it said it was for dinner. They do not serve dinner until evening which we did not know when we went for an early dinner.

I feel they should have honored the certificate anyway, thereby assuring future business from a satisfied customer. They just alienated a potential future customer. I will definitely not recommend them to anyone because of their attitude.

Cute little Restaurant and Bakery in a cute little out of the way town! Always fun to try something new and this was one of our new adventures. We were glad we went as we got impeccable service, amazing food and happy kids! Always a good combo, I highly recommend this restaurant!

i was on my way to some of the trails out here and found a splendid country style treat. i had a hearty omlette and my husband had a turkey, cranberry sandwich. everything was wonderful and the owner was sweet enough to explain and show us the oven when we brought our group back.

will definately come back.

This is a great place for a big breakfast with friends and family. On a sunny day you get a wonderful view of Mt. Rainier. The portions are really big, and the bakery has some great food you can take home as well.

What a great place to go for a Sunday brunch. We often will meet family up at the Black Diamond bakery. It is quite crowded on Sundays and you may have to wait around for a while to get seated. They have delicious pastries to take home after your meal, too. I love to have the Country Fried Steak and eggs when I eat here.

The service is wonderful and it has a family atmosphere. It is a neat old building, too.

Be careful in the parking lot as there is no barrier between the busy street and the parking, sometimes that is an issue if you have kids.

The Black Diamond bakery is our favorite breakfast destination. They have so many delicious bakery treats and breakfast dishes. The cinnamon rolls are to die for!! They are the best I have ever tasted. You can even choose your cinnamon roll topping? sweet icing, cream cheese, etc.,etc .. Yummy!!

i go to this bakery/restaurant 3-4 times a month. its now the only place i eat breakfast. their omelette's are outstanding and always fluffy and perfectly cooked. they come with a side of perfectly crispy hash browns. the coffee they serve is delicious. the baked goods they offer are on the rustic side, but they are very delicious.
this is a cute old fashioned bakery where you can fill your gut and be satisfied all day for a reasonable price.

there is a long wait on the weekends, but thats because its "THE" place to be for breakfast, and well worth the wait. i havent had their lunch or dinner only because i love their breakfast so much!

Excellent place to eat and take out of town guests. The food is great, service is excellent. You can enjoy the tour of a great small town! The place was very comfortable and we all really enjoy it.
We love to take our guests there!

The Black Diamond Bakery is definitely the place to go if you are in the area. The food is excellent, as well as the items in the bakery. It is a cute little restaurant/bakery and feels very homey. The waitstaff are pleasant and helpful. There is always parking available. The breakfast is especially good here. It is worth the drive even if you don't live close to it.

Black Diamond Bakery and Restaurant is a popular spot in an otherwise small town. If you want to eat there on a weekend, make sure you have a reservation, otherwise you will be out of luck! It is a comfortable restaurant with generous servings of basic favorites cooked right (french toast, grilled cheese, etc.) The bakery has all sorts of delicious treats; the cinnamon rolls are especially good. There is also a large lounge-type room next to the bakery and restaurant, where you can sit and watch sports on TV, play games, or order a coffee drink.

The view of Mt. Rainier is spectacular on a sunny day, and the short drive through "old town" one takes to get to The Bakery is almost enough. But the food is the topper. Try the sausage gravy on homecooked biscuits. Or the Bakery-cured smoked ham, either with fried eggs or as part of the excellent Eggs Benedict. And be careful not to go in the bakery until after breakfast, or you'll fill up on all the wonderful items available

The food is good and plentiful. The service is sometimes great and sometimes so-so. You can count on waiting at least 30 to 60 minutes on the weekends. Try the four by four for breakfast.
