Dusty Strings

This place has the more typical stringed instruments, as well as harps, hammer dulcimers, mandolins and more unusual instruments. It also has some music.

This store had something we had been unable to find anywhere -- a workable but inexpensive case to fit Irish bagpipes. The staff was very helpful and responsive to our questions. We have also purchased a truly beautiful hammered dulcimer from them.

i have been to this store about two times to have my guitar strings replaced and tuned. they did a pretty good job of it.its a nice small store and they have good employees who know a lot about music.their prices are comparatively good.they also sell music instruments for good prices.

I would sooner buy a guitar from Trading Musician. That said, Dusty Strings is a really great shop. They have some quality acoustic guitars made by smaller named luthiers. They also have a great selection of other instruments. They offer classes on flatpicking and other techniques in a little room in the back of the store. They regularly have folksingers perform in their shop, and the staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. They're quick and skilled with repairs too!
