My favorite part of dining at Purple is the tasting menu with the matching flights of wine. I visited recently with two friends, and together we tried 20+ dishes and nearly as many glasses of wine. No need to ever order a main course!

An excellent choice for a quality dinner or just a glass of wine. Nice ambiance inside....sophisticated but not stuff. Highly recommend. Multiple locations in the Seattle/Kirkland/Woodinville areas.

I ate at Purple last weekend and had the worst customer service from the manager. They were out of two of the wines I ordered and didn't even offer me a third wine at a similar price. In fact they tried to sell me a terrible bottle at double the price. The manager was rude and the food was awful. All the food was cold and tasteless.

My husband and I love to experience a date night out at the Purple Wine Bar. The selection of wine is top notch and the appetizers are priced just right and enough for a quick dinner before a movie.
The decor is very romantic and sleek and the service has always been good.
Try a cheese and wine flight or the lobster mac and cheese!! To die for!!

This is a very funky place. The interior is very unique. We wine tasters and appetizers at the bar. Both very good. There bottled beer selection was also good.

I've been three times now and enjoyed it. I've always been happy with the wine. The lobster mac and cheese was OK. The bacon wrapped scallop appetizer was nice. I really enjoyed the Sesame Crusted Ahi although the rice cake that came with it was only OK. Service was great and the waiter didn't mock my choice of wine with a meal it didn't "go" with. The restaurant is VERY crowded. It had the vibe of a place people went to see and be seen. Last time my husband and I went a little before the rush and we had a lovely meal.

My best friend and I went to Purple for the first time last night -- we had a great time. They were able to seat us promptly, great service, and the food was delicious! The atmosphere was great and the decor was nice too. We will definitely visit again!

My mother and I are convinced Purple has the best crab cakes in the Seattle area, and we've tried almost all of them! We also love the salads--all are delicious and most pair well with the crab cakes. We aren't wine drinkers, but dine at Purple frequently. Another friend and I had a daily dinner seafood special, which was a white fish encrusted with macadamia nuts, with a beurre blanc sauce. We both thought we'd died and gone to heaven! I tried the beef tenderloin once, and was not happy with size or toughness, but everything else has been good. Service is usually good, but sometimes takes a while to get the check.

i have been to purple in seattle and kirkland. i prefer the one in seattle, which is trendier. overall, i think their industrial interior will quickly become passe and tired looking. regardless, i was not disappointed this go'round, service was a bit lacking at first. it took a while for someone to take responsibility for our table. once they did, service was seamless. we ordered the prix fixe with the wines for $40 and it was well worth the money. the wines didn't knock my socks off - and i know they could have because i have seen the list - but the food was fantastic. the goat cheese swimming in honey was a bit odd, but i finished every bit. the best part was the prawn and scallop skewers - gorgeous! four huge prawns and four huge scallops - i felt positively spoiled. there was a funky "chick pea cake" and some swiss chard, which was brown but tasty. my peanut dessert was mediocre, but the vanilla creme brulee was great. overall, this spot is not a waste of time or money no matter which location you choose.

This place only looks fantastic. Great lighting, cool bar and wine storage.... but don't be deceived. I went here after work with a friend and we were so disappointed. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks and we sat at the bar! Waitress never came and asked us if we wanted another, we had to flag her down. It was very crowded and very loud. To top off the evening we had to send our bill back twice because they kept charging us for things we never ordered. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!

This place rocks. To the person who spent $120 on cheese and wine for 4, what on earth did you order? Granted, we generally go on Mondays for half-price bottles, but there are numerous wines under $30 (and therefor under $15 on Mondays, or Sundays in Woodinville) and the cheese is very reasonably priced, in our experience. The staff is knowledgeable but not snobby - they're happy to serve affordable wine and great food. The butter that comes with the fresh bread is delicious, and the bacon-wrapped scallops in a blackberry reduction are to die for, and you get 4 good-size scallops for $11. The baked brie is delicious and just right for 2, although it's RICH, so be warned. Our favorite dessert is the little ice cream cookie sandwiches, which are just the right size to finish off a meal.

Pros: Great wine range, fabulous food

I absolutely love this place! This is my new favorite spot. For years, friends have been trying to get me to appreciate wine and it wasn't until my visit to the Purple Cafe where I actually learned to enjoy wine. The Fresh and Crisp wine combo of four was perfect for those who are not savvy wine drinkers. Notably, what I really enjoyed was the wonderful menu this restaurant has to offer. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, perfectly cooked and the pesto pasta dish I ordered was hands down, the comfort food I was looking for. You will walk out of this restaurant feeling extremely satisifed. Give it a try!

This restaurant is one of my faves in Seattle - it's got a great atmosphere that's casual but cool, a delicious menu, TONS of wines - it's just a cool vibe, perfect for dinner with friends, a business lunch, or even for a date vibe that's chill but on point - it's just a classy joint that isn't stuffy. I personally love the salads, esp the oriental one with mandarins, or the goat cheese roasted pepper salad! :)

Every month my sister and I have a tradition of coming here and ordering their cheese/wine flight. We pick three cheeses and they are brought out with three different wines to compliment. I have just turned 21 and its a great way to try new wines and relax with my sister in a comfortable laidback, slightly industrial place. The bread and crackers the cheeses come with are amazing and the ambiance is very serene.

Went here for drinks and apetizers before dinner ($120 for wine/cheese for 4!) The flight of wine 'special' was a ripoff, $30 for 4 samples of wines. 2 of them were terrible, the other 2 acceptable. We ordered a cheese platter as our friends said it would come with "all kinds of fruit and crackers". What we got was a piece of wood with 5 (yummy) cheeses about the size of a half dollar each, a glob of fig jelly, 1/3rd of a pear, and 4 large crackers for $17! We were with a group of about 12 so they added on an 18% gratutity which seems to have given them the right to give us the worst service ever! It took them 20 minutes to get us extra chairs and the place was not even packed! We had to beg our waitress to stay around to take our order!

The food was good and service was good (although our server was clueless about the wine list). Nothing spectacular -- We enjoyed the restaurant, but wouldn't rush back to it.

I have been to Purple a handful of times. I chose it for my birthday last year, and took a friend there this year for her birthday. I have also been there twice on dates. If you like wine, its their specialty. They also have a pretty decent menu, although I have ordered the same thing every time, the pear, stilton and walnut salad, mine and my roomates absolute favorite. I wouldn't necessarily go there for their food, but if nothing else, the restaurant is adorable and the ambiance is amazing. In the summer, it become almost an outdoor restaurant and is a perfect place to go on a nice evening in Kirkland.

We have had lunch at both the Kirkland and Woodinville restaurants, and dinner at the Kirkland Purple Cafe. Lunch was especially wonderful, with the wine/cheese pairings a real delight. Out of 4 servers we have had, only 1 was knowledgeable on wine. Food very good lunch and dinner. Only really downer was waiting for a table for dinner at the Kirkland restaurant, as it does not accept reservations for parties of less than 6.

Urban winebars with great food are common in Belltown, but not on the Eastside and certainly not in Redmond. Although it's tucked into a lackluster shopping mall, once you enter, you would swear that you're in Seattle. The knowledgeable wait staff will give you all the advice you need on food or drink. Don't miss it!

I live within walking distance and often visit because of a good selection of inexpensive but tastey wine and good meal choices. The bartender is knowledgeable and honest about the wine.

They will be soon be opening a lounge in their current private banquet-room-thing...something badly needed in Kirkland.
