Disappointed! If you're looking for zombie like service with no class or character, then this may be the place for you. We waited forever for our food only to be served cold chicken Lomein and cold fried rice. the rest of our order wasn't

I've been a patron for a few years now and thoroughly enjoy myself each time. The food is fantastic. The drinks are spot on and the customer service is SUPREME! I enjoy mingling with the Staff and Patrons, who are always welcoming and friendly. And I have yet to bring a friend or family member with me who didn't enjoy themselves! Hats off UpTown! We love you!

This is a Chinese restaurant that bends over backwards to make your dinner spiced just the way you like it! From the fabulous soups (hot and sour seafood, hot sour, won ton) to the fried chicken wings, everything hits the spot.

The lunch menu is priced right and provides a huge amount of food.

I've NEVER had even a slightly off meal here. Everything is spot on, every time.

Pros: Great weekend bartender, fabulous food, great entertainment

Cons: Parking, but I blame the city.

Terrible food and even worse customer service. Our first experience at Up Town China resulting in having to send one of the dishes back... it was literally the consistency of shoe leather. We eat out regularly and are NOT picky, uptight patrons at all. As a matter of fact, I've only sent food back one other time in my life (because it was undercooked). Ok, so maybe this was just a fluke, so a couple months later we decide to give Uptown China a second chance and had some food delivered. Boy was that a mistake! We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and instead recieved, well... I'm not sure what it was, but it definitely wasn't Kung Pao Chicken! We politely called and told them about the mistake and requested that they credit us back for the cost of the "mystery meat" we clearly didn't order. They refused. After 15 minutes of arguing we finally hung up in frustration. It's amazing that a place like this can even stay in business. Eat at Uptown

When your office is on Elliott, there are few places close for lunch. Uptown China was always a favorite to take groups. They have fast service, so we could get in and out within an hour. They have enough variety, that everyone could find something tasty to eat.

Don't miss this place just because it isn't in the ID. The food is always great. We especially like the dry sauteed string beans and the crispy prawns with walnuts. And of course the potstickers are not to be missed. Now if they would just bring back the cold noodles in sesame/chilli sauce...

Ordered a take out and was very disappointed in the quality and quantity of their lunch special. I ordered hot&sour soup was acceptable, chang sa chicken - partially raw (is it ok to eat partially raw chicken?), vegetables were soggy and the spinach was clumped into a bundle, egg roll had no flavor and was not crispy, fried rice was actually not bad but was only good for a couple of bites and then it was gone (a little too stingy on the rice), over all I woudn't recommend this place to any of my friends. Disappointing. I guess back to Subway.

After reading through the reviews here I decided to give Uptown a try for a date night. The reviews I read here to not match the experience we had. In short, we were quite disappointed with this establishment.

We arrived to a nearly deserted establishment which seemed odd at first. Turns out we were on the leading edge of the dinner rush. Get there early or expect a serious wait. Parking is slim with no handicap parking availiable at the restraunt. Despite being so quiet there was trash on the floor. We were seated at a table for two butted up against the wall. This resulted in one person having to fight with the wall to eat their food.

We started out with the vegatable spring roll appetizer. The rolls were nicely cooked with a crispy exterior and soft interior. The vegetables were finely sliced but had minimal flavoring. The accompanying sauces were of adequate quantity with a nice presentation of mustard dolluped in the sweet sauce.

For dinner my date had the Almond Chicken and I had the Sizzling Chicken. As expected, the Almond Chicken was tender with a crispy bread crumb exterior. The sauce was bland and barely warm. The almonds were stale. My Sizzling chicken was disappointingly mild with little sauce. The dish itself was cooked adequately it just lacked flavor.

Quantity of both dishes was more than adequate. Good strategy if you choose to eat here is to agree upon on main dish and a side like rice. Unlike most Chinese restraunts all dishes are ala carte. There is no dinner plate that includes an entree, rice, & soup. Everything is seperate.

Overall it is below average when compared to other Chinese restraunts in the greater Seattle area. This lackluster rating is primarily due to its price versus lack of quality coupled with a wholly ala carte menu. Restroom facilities mirrored the lack of attention to food quality. I would probably not return on another date night.

Best place for american chinese food outside of Chinatown. It not that far from my apt. Staff is always so friendly. I love the almond fried chicken. I never had a problem ever. This place is great.
My company came here once for a goodbye lunch. There were 25 of us and no one had any problems.

This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Great food---especially the lunch special. Nice people. Excellent service. Good menu selections. I always look forward to when my schedule brings me to this part of town so I can have lunch or dinner here.

I have been trying to get good chinese here for over a year now. Uptown is close. It is good quality food, albeit a bit expensive. Service is good. Parking is a big plus. Food has generous portions of meat, and is freshly made. Better than average.

We have been eating at Uptown China since before my 14 year old daugther was born. They are GREAT with kids. They love having them there and children sense this so they seem to behave very well. The food is fresh and delicious. Try the dry sauteed string beans, amazing potstickers, and salt and pepper halibut. Good mushu and hot and sour soup, too.

The staff are wonderful and it's a great place to eat.

Thanks!

I went for lunch with a coworker and was not impressed. I found the food to be comparable to cheap Chinese in the U-district at close to twice the price. The vegetables were cut into very large pieces that were difficult to eat and the sauce was bland. The restaurant is clean but there is nothing about it that makes me feel that I should be paying so much for their lunch "special." Luckily I already know where to find great Chinese food so I won't be going back.

Now this is what Chinese food is supposed to taste like! Finally, a place in Seattle that can actually do Chinese food. Now, where this somewhere other than Seattle, I would not say this with such utter surprise or delight but I have searched high and low from the International District to Bell Town and this is the first decent Chinese food I have found. Excellent food indeed!

The ambiance is OK, nothing special, but what one might imagine for a family Chinese restaurant. The service is also just OK, but I would deal with much worse for the food. I think my only complaint is that they dont deliver to Capital Hill.

Great, provided one does not mind sharing their plate with the lost hairs of the restaurants staff. I found a hair swimming in my sweet and sour sauce. Needless to say I will never return and would advise others to exercise caution.

A friend of mine also found something in her plate of food that should not have been there. She nearly lost a tooth after biting down on something inorganic in her takeout.

This place is all hype. A word to the wise, find some place else to get your Chinese food fix. There are cleaner places in the city.

Neat place. Great quality of traditional chinese-american fare. Love the hot and sour soup, the best in the city by far.

Uptown China has wonderfully spicy, fried, breaded chinese food and it is so good! The menu is pretty limited (mostly staples like sweet & sour, etc.) but everything I've had is good. I especially like mongolian beef & general tso's chicken. They use good quality meat and huge tender chunks of chicken. I would recommended eating in the restaurant - I've had a delivery from them a few times and it's just not as good.

We love the new menu items (not that they needed any). It just makes our ordering choice all that much more difficult.
The Ying and Yang Prawns are TO DIE FOR.
Two words: GO THERE.
You will enjoy the food.

I only know Uptown china from delivery and I think
its the best of them all for the downtown Seattle area. My favorites are Mu-shu shrimp or Singapore noodles. I love all the appetizers too!! I'm a little disappointed tho, I've recently moved and they dont deliver. So I've tried others in my area and compared to Uptown china, they're ..Ho-hum..

Since our first date, my wife and I have probably dined-in (excluding take-out orders) at over 250 different Asian restaurants across the country. Uptown China's friendly service and wildly immaginative menu are, at least to us, unsurpassed! Great food and one of the better bartended cocktail lounges in the Seattle area! Thanks, Uptown, and keep up the great cuisine!!!

I really think this was a nice returaunt, nice atmosphere, usually great people and very close to the Key Arena! I like going to games and coming back to the solemn crowd that still remain after a game. Quite nice, although if you didn't buy a ticket and watched it at the resuraunt there would be alot of shouting etc., but some of that can actually be a load fun! *Anyone that doesn't like this resturaunt must be an idiot. An idiot that likes to complain and not deal with things any other food place could make the same mistake*

This is the best Chinese food in Seattle. All the wait staff are great, and the two bartenders, blend good drinks with great personalities!

The food is consistently outstanding and always, always fresh.

They will prepare things even if you don't see them on the menu.

It's the best in town; give 'em a try!!
