My soccer team comes here after games, and my sister and I stop in when we're in the neighborhood. I like the atmosphere of the place. It is friendly without being pushy. The menu leans towards sandwiches with salads and main dishes. Their curried cashews are an interesting appetizer.

I am a regular at the ale house. About once a month. I usually order the curry cashews and a meal. The soups are excellent original flavors and made fresh.

The Columbia City Ale House provides a warm, friendly, and comfortable atmosphere. They have great food and menu variety with good drink selection. The goat cheese salad is a must and the burgers are amazing. A great weeknight or casual dining spot.

The beer selection is great at this ale house. And, it has a great personality inside (a bit of English charm). Some nights, a guitar player or little band is there to entertain. The appetizers are okay, but I'd probably go to another restaurant in the area.

We LOVE the Columbia City Alehouse - we've yet to have a bad experience here. Great selection of beers for a range of tastes (always an interesting porter for me), and rich satisfying food that is better and far more interesting and flavorful than the typically tired run of pub grub, with some nice specials. (We just came back from splitting the best, most juicy lamb & brie sandwich, and their hoppin' john was great and spicy.) Nice atmosphere, good bunch of folks from the greatest neighborhood in the city, interesting music that is not too loud and not too soft, a great place to watch the game without being an obnoxious sports bar: if you're in the area and haven't spent some time here, you owe yourself a treat.

Food here is way too spicy and complicated. Beer's great. Atmosphere's great. Service is fine. Just tone down the spices and gets some plain, regular, burgers and fries.

This is one of the few places to go and get a microbrew in South Seattle without choking on smoke. The service is friendly and the beer is always interesting and varied.

The only drawback is the food. The menu is small and difficult. The food is really overdone. It's way too complicated for pub food. It's often way, way too spicy.

We moved to the Columbia City area over a year ago, and Columbia City Ale house became an immediate favorite. We can't resist the fish tacos (although they can be a little too spicy on occasion), or the goat cheese salad. YUM.

Highly recommend going there for a fun and relaxing evening. Friendly waitstaff and customers make you want to go back again and again!

This is a great neighborhood pub with excellent food (tuna sandwich, fish tacos!) and friendly service. It has a very comfortable atmosphere and is just a great place to grab some healthy food with a good selection of beer.

Columbia City Alehouse reminds me of neighborhood places in eastern cities. Nothing fancy, just yummy healthy food, a sports game to watch, great tunes on the stereo, and great service. A place where you can meet your neighbor and hang out on a weeknight. Seattle has too few of these places. So many restaurants are too busy trying to be California-cuisine-cool or something. Just give me great food and decent prices in a friendly atmosphere.
