Pros: lots of options

Cons: the restaraunt was a little cold, bring a jacket

New Year's eve 2007 - 6:30pm. Cosmos, please know that professional restauranteurs put forth their best on "festive" nights. Our service was dull, unattentive and frustrating. My wife and I order drinks at bar while waiting for our table. After consulting rolodex (really a rolodex-I'm not kidding), bartender quizzes my wife asking, "What's in a Smith and Kearns?" We obligingly edify the professional bartender/hostess and were charged $5.25 for the Smith and Kearns. When ordering dinner, our bartender/waitress/hostess enhusiastically remarks that soup or salad comes with the pasta entree I'm ordering. Fine, the Tomato Basil soup sounds wonderful, I submit. My wife orders a Caesar side salad and Parma Prawns for her dinner. Tea with sugar was also ordered with dinner. We had to ask patrons at another table to share their sugar since ours came with none. We didn't receive the Tomato Basil soup or the Caesar salad. The Pasta and Prawns were placed in front of us with brevity. Yup - correct word is brevity. No soup. No Salad. No sugar. No words. The server was GONE. Inexperienced? Perhaps, because she was probably 16 or 17 years old. After finishing our reduced calorie meal, the "bartender/waitress/hostess/babysitter" did ask how our dinner was and I willingly noted the points about the missing salad and no soup. Really didn't feel like pressing the lack of sugar, so-ooo.... After some kitchen consultation the bartender/waitress/hostess/babysitter returns to apologize for the mis-step and announce that we're the recipients of a free dessert or appetizer. To further frustrate our experience we were kept waiting for another ten minutes before our check was presented by the 17 year-old server who apologized and implied that the bartender/waitress/hostess/babysitter hadn't communicated properly. By this time, who cares?? To top all this off the bill had $5.95 charged for the Caesar side salad which was never even served! We pay the entire bill not wanting to waste any more time explaining to Cosmos how customer service actually works. Cosmos tries to project professionalism but it only comes off as contrived. Noisy atmoshpere, inexperienced staff, mediocre meal, mismanaged service.

The first time I went into Cosmo's, it was the mouth-watering aroma of the foods, espresso, and, I guess, the general atmosphere that caught my attention. Cosmo's is in a new building that the propietors designed and had built about a year ago, so everything's new and very comfy. The staff is friendly and eager to please. The proprietors both came out to greet us and express genuine interest in what would please our family!

For the light appetite, they offer a cheese course accompanied by spiced nuts, fresh fruits, antipasti or really tasty chutney. The appetizers are delectable, from their prawns that are stuffed with fresh basil leaves, wrapped with prosciutto, and sauteed in olive oil (yum, yum!) to their savory polenta bomba smothered with wild mushrooms in a creamy marsala sauce.
The Salads are ALL wonderful, include antipasto salad with house made vinaigrette, exemplary Caesar salad, garlic chicken salad and more!

After enjoying an appetizer and a salad, I was not prepared for the quality and the quantity of my entree! I chose the Pasta Carbonara, which is sizzling pancetta in a light egg-cream sauce & freshly grated parmesan and served with linguine. (again, yum yum!) Others in our party enjoyed the lasagne (made unlike any I've had) and the spaghetti & meatballs. We all took leftovers home and enjoyed them the next day!

Since this is my first review, I don't know what else to add, except if you're looking for excellent food served in a great atmosphere by upbeat servers and caring proprietors, Cosmo's in Port Orchard is the place for you! You won't be disappointed!

bon appetit!

Sandy :-)

Pros: Ambience, Parking, Service

Cons: Gets a little busy some nights...

Take it all in because it is a feast for the senses. Rosemary in the gardens! Mmmmm. That sight alone was enough to let me know I would love it! The deli in back is great and so is the coffee they serve. In the restaurant section you will find cozy tables for four and each one has a section of a song written along the outside edge. The art on the wall changes regularly (and you can buy it if you like). They have a small alchohol bar off to the side. The staff is very nice and the owner works hard to make people happy. Go for dinner because they serve this great plate with a delectable "sauce" for dipping the fresh baked bread in (before dinner). Most of the food is very good. You will want to know it is a very busy place at peak times (because it's so good) and if you want a romantic quiet corner for you and your sweetheart to dine for dinner, plan to keep a good mental focus. It can get loud and very busy and food may be slow to serve at the max times (but that goes with any very good restaurant). Note, though, if you go for a romantic dinner the bread course, the beautiful food, the tables (with their songs) and atmosphere may be enough to counter the bustling around you and keep the feel intimate enough. I have gone on dates with my husband there and have also taken my children for lunch. It is always pleasurable dining there. It's pretty casual so don't overdress. Whatever you do, try it! (Get the cheese raviolis!) And for your sisters birthday, take her there (for dinner, maybe on a weekday)

Why are you still here? Go to Cosmos! You know you want to!

Hands down THE best place in South Kitsap for authentic Itallian food. Forget the Olive Garden! Fair prices, excellent food, great service. You won't be disapointed!

PROS: amazing food, great atmosphere, authentic Itallian dishes
CONS: small restraunt so seats fill up fast

This is just a really great place to eat. The last time I ate there the sandwich I had was so flavorful, and all the ingrediants very fresh. This is more than just a deli though. They have wonderful lunch specials, and dinners too. If you have not tried this gem in our community, run, don't walk and try it out.

PROS: Good, fresh, flavorful food.
