Cohort Learning

I selected Antioch because it offered a cohort based masters in management. With no plans to be a CFO I opted away from and MBA. The program provided me more than just book knowledge, it provided me the tools to actually manage people and projects.

Antioch offers an accomodating schedule

by Katie C. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,231

My coworker and friend set out to finish her BA two years ago. We work downtown, so she chose Antioch because it is also located downtown and because it offered a degree in the program she was interested in. I had my doubts about her being able balance full-time work and night classes for nearly two-years. Antioch allowed her a flexible enough schedule and the advising support she needed to achieve her goal within the set time frame. I know that the credit should also be given to my friend, but Antioch has definitely helpful!

I just started attending this school and I really enjoy it. It is not that well-known in Seattle, but those who know about it recommend it. It is geared towards working adults, alternative education, social justice, and community service. It is a small school, so you are definitely not just a number there. They treat each student like they have something to teach the class based on their own experiences. If you believe in social justice, alternative viewpoints, multicultural education, and personal attention then you might consider Antioch. I also went to UW and must say I already know my classmates better after 3 weeks than I did after 2 1/2 years at UW. But, they are private so it costs more than UW.
