The Parkway always seems to be hopping! We like to go there to grab a beer, although not usually to eat. Get there early if they're doing a promotional give-away, like the Fat Tire bike!

I lived just a couple of blocks from the Parkway. It is without a doubt the best car food in Tacoma. The menu is reasonably prices and the staff is great.

I have only been there for lunch, but the food is very good. They make all their soups homemade, their burgers are big, it's a nice place to come in and sit down to have lunch. It's not like a typical tavern, all dark and smokey. It has lots of windows, and I didn't even notice cigarette smoke. The staff is friendly, and they do quite a little business for lunch.

We have being going here for years. It's non-smoking and has cheap, great beer. It's an excellent place to meet friends after work. The staff is friendly and knowlegeable. the food is excellent for bar food (although they could use a fryer for things like french fries). It is in need of a bit of sprucing up--the furniture and walls are showing their age and use.

Pros: inexpensive, friendly, good selection

Cons: aged

I'm a little biased, as I am a stadium district gal and live in close proximity to the Parkway, but this place is the best anyway. It looks like a house from the outside (for some reason I love bars and restaurants that used to be houses!) and has a very cozy feeling once you're inside.

Darn good beer on tap and pretty good food, burgers and sandwiches but no fried food. I hear they just started serving breakfast but haven't been in to try it yet. The bartenders are pretty friendly for the most part and so are the patrons, which depending on the day is a nice mix of UPS students and/or neighborhood folk. In the back is a free pool table with shuffleboard and a couple dartboards as well.

Though it is a smaller place, it can get pretty rowdy for no apparent reason at any time of the day or night. Though I have to say, I've never seen any cop-action there (I would know as I can hear everything from my window).

PROS: yummy beer, free pool, no smoking, somewhat pet friendly
CONS: limited seating, no smoking inside (if you are of the other half)

Title says it all. All Deschutes brews are $2.75 a pint. Bartenders are great, food is good, try the Veggie Thai Sandwhich. Free pool, free shuffle board. Rarely crowded, except on special party nights.
