Terrible, do NOT go here, I repeat do NOT go here, just turn around and run for the hills as fast as you can! This place is a real stink hole. Poor food, rude waitstaff and not to mention food poisoning. Plus it tasted like they've watered

Don't go here. It's definitely a candidate for Restaurant Impossible! The decor features brown wainscotting and merlot-colored walls. Both are all chipped and in disrepair. Unloved. The ladies room walls look like they have blood

Realistically, 2.5 stars. Not because they did anything wrong, but because nothing stood out and in Seattle's various neighborhoods there are SO many outstanding food choices that we tend to grade a bit harshly sometimes. Can't blame us

Service is not great. It took so long to get our drinks and food. They they all came at once. The server was not very social or attentive. I just moved to Fremont and so far not too impressed with the service here.

I rate this with ZERO STARS!

We went here on a Sunday. One of my friends recommended the place because the crab melt was really good. Two of my friends tried to order the crab melt, but apparently, they did not have any crab that day. No crab in Seattle? What was that about??? Besides that, the waitress seemed very impatient, and we felt rushed ordering our food.

I ordered a coke and the tuna salad sandwich. The sandwich tasted fine, but I've had better. After our meal, my coke was close to being finished, when I noticed something in the bottom of the glass. I picked for it with my straw, but to find the most disgusting green, slimy thing. We could not identify what it was. We took a closer look and it had little hairs in it!!! GROSS!!! I'm 13 weeks pregnant, and looking at it made me puke! I had to rush to the bathroom and vomit my whole meal! IT WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING THING!!!

The waitress came and cleared out our dishes and said she was going to find out where it came from. She finally came back and tried to tell us that she didn't know what it was or where it came from. She did say that she looked at the ice machine and didn't see anything. She said it may have been from the dishwasher! How gross is that??? Whether it's from the ice machine or dishwasher, the place is disgusting and dirty. She didn't charge me for my meal, but if it came from the ice machine or dishwasher, no customer should be paying for dirty food. She apologized, but no sincere apology. The manager did not even come to apologize. We obviously did not tip her. We walked by our waitress before we left, and she did not even acknowledge us at all.

Not only does Red Door have awful service, they have the most DISGUSTING AND DIRTIEST FOOD I have ever eaten in. I'm NEVER EVER going back there again and would NEVER RECOMMEND it to anyone!!!

Come here on summer afternoons to get a spot on the patio where you can enjoy a tasty beer from the ever-changing tap list. Great inexpensive bar food with a neighborhood atmosphere.

I like the Red Door a lot. I actually like the casual, cozy of the old location better. The new is glossier, more hip. But, it's still got good beer and food. It's usually hopping with lots of people. A fun hang-out.

We went there before a show. We were all excited to have some Mac n Jack's and sliders (a burger appetizer). The waitress, which took FOREVER to come to our table, informed us they were out of both. My girlfriend jokingly said "why didn't you hang a sign out front," and I jokingly said, "Why is your front door open, without Mac you guys should just shut down shop." Our waitress said on Sundays they always run out of popular stuff. I work in the restaurant industry and if my restaurant went out of something on any day we would be mortified because of the bad planning and management.

So anyways, we ordered their beer of the month. I gave the order and said, "but we need the beer (a pitcher) right away. Our waitress said ok, but very irritated.

Our beer came 10 min later. She plunked down 3 pint glasses, stacked on themselves, with the pitcher, rolled her eyes, and said "Here you go." We separated our glasses and poured our beer.

When the food came, she brought us our fries and chicken wings, with no individual plates. No napkins. To her credit she said she forgot napkins. 10 minutes later, after her taking orders and delivering food, my girlfriend asked if we could get napkins. 5 min later we got them.

After we ate, our napkins were on the plates of carnage, while she walked around to other tables. She walked to our table and walked away. My brother jokingly said to us, "Uh,NO, We're ok, everything is good here." We all laughed.

Another 5 min of our napkins on our plate, pitcher empty, she came by and asked if we were done. We said yes and asked for our bill.

2 min later we got our bill. We paid it and left. Through a window as we were leaving we saw that she re-entered the patio and the first thing she went to was her $2 tip. My brother and girlfriend encouraged me to stiff her, but I didn't. Without attitiude I would have tipped her like $7-8 dollars. But she sucked!!!

I often frequent the Red Door at night, but have just recently ventured there for lunch. We both order the steak salad. It is only $8.95. Now most steak salads run around $15-$16. And this is the best we've both had. It has gorgonzola, fried tortilla strips, yummy rib-eye steak, tomatoes, red onions, and more. This is such a great value and it's enough for me to have 2 meals! We've already gone back to get the salad and I'm sure we'll be going many more times.

We stopped in for lunch after walking the Fremont Sunday street market. The outside seating was nice and the food was passable. However, the service was the worst I have EVER experienced. Our waitress stood and talked to a table of people, obviously her friends, across from ours almost the whole time we were there. She brought food that was cold with no plates or silverware. I had to walk over to the bar and ask a bartender to get them for us. We were eating our food off of napkins while our waitress was too busy talking to her friends to notice. I could go on since there is more I could complain about that, but I won't. It was obvious to us that our waitress could have cared less. It was beyond bad service. We won't be back. I gave our rude server's tip to the gal next door at the smoothie place. The service there was great! My suggestion, skip lunch and have a smoothie next door. It will be a much nicer experience.

Went to Red Door for a work related function. Our group rented a private room. Service was poor but with such a big party we were tolerant. I ordered food but decided not to eat it because of the crush of people and lack of space. I boxed it myself and took it home. Once home I realized that in my salad there were pieces of greasy foul smelling fried fish that did not at all belong. Disgusting! The kitchen staff totally scraped someone else's plate and served it to me. I called and was left on hold for twenty minutes. I just wanted to return the food and get my money back but no one was willing to talk to me. I'll never go back. I am also sorry that our company spent so much reserving a room. What a total waste.

I used to go to Red Door all the time on weekend nights with friends but I will not be returning. The past few times I have had horrible service. Bartenders/waitresses are rude and inconsiderate. You have to wait in line forever to get a drink. This place is usually pretty busy but I've noticed in the past few months it's not the usual, trendy crowd, but a bunch of out of towners who must have heard this place was cool. I would not recommend going to Red Door; there are many other bars in Fremont that are far superior, where you can find more respect.

I love the Red Door! It's chill on the weeknights and packed Friday and Saturday nights. The bartenders are friendly, and the food is good if you're looking for dinner. The inside is dark with wood all over the floors and walls. It's a good place to bring a date during the week- but go on the weekend if you are looking to meet people.

For your information, johndarksinned (nice Freudian slip, pal), we DO discriminate against one type of people: jerks with no social skills. Where do you get off thinking that you can belligerently hound our staff, call them "white trash" to their faces, and then have the gall to accuse us of being bigots? I've done some checking up on you with some friends I know in the service industry, and all of them say that you're just the kind of classless, annoying, petulant creep that would pull a stunt like that. In the future, you'd better have a leg to stand on when you go accusing people of something as pernicious as racism, be it personal or institutional. Too bad you're not welcome here; otherwise you could come in and see just how many great folks of every stripe and walk of life we have working here. And to those valued, loyal customers who are kind enough to come see us when they can, thanks a million for your continued support and generosity.

I can't believe in 2006 a place would have racism, in Seattle? This is probably my 5th time, I have been there. This place, has the biggest classic case of the good old boys. Peter the bouncer agreed with me tonight. I am technical, non nerd looking guy, who wanted to stand up for a woman who was not being served in her turn by the classic Jock Bartender. I spoke up, and I was not only discrimated against, Peter the bouncer was called in.

I used to be a loyalist to the "old" Red Door because I missed the cozy atmosphere - but I've finally come around and learn to appreciate what the new one has to offer. I LOVE the outdoor bar and patio. They have a great beer selection. And really good food. I've only been there once when the waitress was a bit on the snotty side, so for the most part the service is quite good - even when the crowds start getting a bit drunk and disorderly.

Those of you expecting the old Red Door experience need to get a clue. Times do change, get over it. Those differnces between the old and new...They are the words called "Clean" and "Sunlight" these two words were sorely lacking in the old digs. The owners, bartenders, and servers are good people. They don't suffer fools and they do show preferrence for regulars. That's what a neighborhood bar should be.

There's a great deal on shots at The Red Door. For only $20 you get 2, 3/4 shots of Patrone. Good thing there cool and don't take advantage of their current "pull" on Saturday nights. Too expensive, but the scene is fun there on Saturday's in September. The deck is nice. Fun and ambitious servers thrive here. "More shots? Jageirmestier??" "Yeah gurl" was our most common response but the effort and fun attitude were appreciated.

"Yeah gurl" was our most common response but the effort and fun attitude were appreciated.

There are so many things I love about the Red Door. First, the service. All of the servers are very attentive and friendly. If there is a open seat sit at the bar and enjoy the company of Steve the bartender, who is very personable and fun.
Oh my, I almost forgot the food! Mashed Potatoes prepared the same way your Grandmother would make them.
All and all this bar is truly one of my favorites, just remember, Thursday, Friday Saturday nights are much too busy. The best servers and bartenders in the world cannot accomodate those numbers.

My days and years patronizing this place have come to an end. Don't waste your time beginning a tradition. It'll be hard to anyway.
While the food is decent at best, the rest goes downhill from there. 'Mistakes' by the kitchen have been numerous; lack of expressed regret or apology is rampant from servers and kitchen. I was the last holdout in my department here at a large company in Fremont, where many of my co-workers have 86'd this dive from their lunching out selections ....much for the same reason.

But apparently the 'old grumpy' owner couldn't care less about service or attracting new customers let alone keeping the loyal ones like myself.

My loyalty just ran out. Don't waste YOUR time.

Cons: callous servers, callous cooks, callous owner

I showed up at the Red Door on a Saturday night, hoping to spot a friend who'd recently started working there. When I walked in the door, I was overwhelmed by the number of (very) young urban professionals, kids who looked like they graduated from the UW with a degree in business a few months ago, shop at Nordstroms, and go out to get "wild and, like, CRAZY!" on the weekends. I circled the bar once looking for my friend, and along the way passed the women's room, which was filled with "silicon and mascara." I pressed on, and found a harried looking waitress holding a water bottle that looked like a man's genitals (must have been a bachelorette party there that night) who informed me my friend was not working. Upon learning this, I could not get out of the bar quick enough. TERRIFYING!
