Bahama Breeze is a great place to meet someone for lunch. The food is excellent, prices fair, and it's a nice clean and tropical feel atmosphere.

Bahama Breeze defies the notion that authentic cuisine can only be found in $$$$ restaurants. The atmosphere is great, the hustle and bustle of the kitchen is entertainment in and of itself and the food is excellent!

A group of us went to this restaurant and a friend ordered oyster rockerfeller. The plate of food literally smell like poo. I told her to tell the waiter but she was too embarassed. She did eat her dinner and did not get sick thank God. I decided to write to the restaurant about our experience and got an immediate reply ""thanks for letting us know, it makes us much better"" and that the chef would give an answer and would be relayed to me. A week went by and NO answer. I wrote again letting the restaurant know that it has been a week with no answer.\r
well the exec chef wrote me back and gave me several excuses. They were all lame because i got some oysters and overcooked them in the oven and I did not replicate the offensive smell. I did also get some seweed as the chef implied burnt seaweed and i also threw some fishsauce in the oven to burn and nope...no offensive smell as experienced in the restaurant. So i say, bologna. \r
I did not respond back to the restaurant because what was written shows that they are all for the $$ and they don't strive for reputation, I give them a BIG FAT ZERO for reputation.\r
\r
As a chef myself (and in my training, i did not have to be trained to withold food is not appealing to sight, smell and temperature). I won't ever go there again with that attitude that the restaurant has and neither will the rest of the party members. In an instant, this restaurant has just lost a revenue amount of at least $600.00 for the group of us...plus one of my doctor friends had just got done eating there and saw us and bought us a bottle of wine for the table...more revenue lost. For a good time and respectable meal we will go elsewhere.\r

The hostesses open the doors for you, and actually make real conversation with you as your being seated. Servers are honest and upfront, yet friendly and efficient. The food is excellent. I've been many times and never been disappointed. I suppose some people that complain don't realize that this is a chain restaurant, so high volume and food that can satisfy everyones tastes is to be expected. However, if you're thinking about heading to the southcenter area, this is definitely a must-try, as it is the ONLY Bahama Breeze in the state of Washington!

p.s.
They stay open until 12 on weekdays and 1am on weekends, their bars never close at 10!!

I visited for lunch recently, and was impressed by the atmosphere and menu. The Seafood Chowder was terrific, and as we were there for a birthday, when no dessert was ordered the waiter cut a paper plate into a cake shape, attached a candle and wrote "happy birthday!" across it so that we could sing to the birthday girl. He went above and beyond on his own.

Many people seem to think, only God knows why, Bahama Breeze is an upscale restaurant, I've eaten there enough times to know the food is tasteless, every single time, nothing special on the flavor, the menu seems very exotic, but its not !!! I would not consider this a romantic / upscale restaurant whatsoever.

Pros: Inside Decor

Cons: Located at a mall ?!

.

I've been there a handful of times, and have never been disappointed with the food. The restaurant's always crowded, so expect a wait. But the atmosphere's fun, and there's a sizeable menu to satisfy everyone's tastes.\r

Me boyfriend sat at the bar on a Wednesday night, and first of all, the bartender forgot to bring his beer...was too busy chatting it up with her friends who were at the bar. Also, it took way too long to get our dinners after the appetizer. The entire time we were at the bar, the bartenders friend started cussing very loudy and ruined our entire dining experience. Not once did someone tell him to be quiet or leave. I just thought the service was awful. I think management needs to get on those bartenders. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice, and the tortilla soup was pretty good, although way too salty.

Boyfriend and I went EARLY (5 pm) on a Friday to beat the rush and finally try the ""talked about"" restaurant at the office. Great atmosphere and good food. We splurged on the appetizer blue crab claws in butter sauce (wow... be prepared for a bowlful of melted butter and finger eating messy good). Dinner was chicken skewers and paella which were both very good. More food than an average person can eat, so split a meal or be prepared for a great doggie bag to take home. Paella has PLENTY of seafood and good flavor. The atmosphere is loud yet still feels cozy and private. Dessert was nothing special (Banana bread with ice cream and carmel sauce - lots of calories for the treadmill). This is a great restaurant for two or for a crowd, but I can tell that during rush hour not to expect amazing service. Our server was friendly and helpful and timed the meal/drinks/questions/check at the perfect moments - super job on refilling our iced tea. Bathrooms have mouthwash for after meal freshen up. We plan to return to this Carribean delight someday.

My girlfriend and I just had dinner there last night (Wednesday night). They were very crowded for a weekday. The seating was prompt, hostesses were nice. Restaurant seemed clean and ""Caribbean"". Our server was very nice without being pretentious or fake. We started with a couple of tropical drinks and they were fine. Had Coconut Shrimp appetizer, it was cooked well and the sauce made the dish. I had the Calypso Shrimp Linguine and it was very good. The dish came with one slice of garlic bread which was not enough for the large plate of pasta I got, so requested another and server brought more at no charge. They didn't give me a pasta spoon until I asked for it then it was provided quickly. After meal thought about desserts, but all their desserts seem too sweet or chocolaty. I didn't like that they didn't give water until we asked for it. I thought a restaurant rule was if you order alcohol, water is provided at the same time. But everything we asked for we got in a timely manner, so it wasn't that bad.

Pros: tasty food, accessible location, plenty of parking, prompt seating, courteous staff

Cons: server was nice, but he should have been trained better. $8.50 for 5 small coconut shrimp?

Came in with a group for drinks and snacks at about 9:30 pm on a Friday night. The place stunk like rancid grease, but worse, the wait staff were awful. They conspicuously ignored us for about 15 minutes, and then had the audacity to lecture us about coming in too late! What nerve. "We'll serve you ONE drink, but that's it. We're closing the bar at 10." Unbelievable. (And it ain't like we were being rowdy or unpleasant. Our average age is about 42.)

We left without ordering, and went to 13 Coins up by the airport, where we spent about $300 bucks in food, drink and tips, and were treated like royalty. Bahama Breeze is a no-fly zone forever.

This is a very busy establishment. Thus, it has all the trappings of a popular restaurant stuck next to a mall which includes potential parking problems, long waits and inconsistent service when it is busy. I would say the overall experience is much like Claim Jumpers in Redmond or Buca Di Beppos downtown. If you are basing your decision to eat on how quickly you are seated and served, then go elsewhere. However, if you have the time to spare or you are already at the mall, the cuisine is certainly worth it. This is one of the few places in town that offers Cuban sandwiches, jerk-chicken or (my favorite) habanero bbq wings - all of which are done well. There are maybe too many items on the menu and I don't think they have a good selection of salads. \r
\r
On the other hand, they have an enormous selection of drinks and most of them are tropical. Some of them are too sweet but it is a good place to meet friends or take a date and have drinks and appetizers in the bar.

We went for lunch on a Sunday without reservation. The wait was looooong, which was understandable. Once we were seated, the nightmare started. No greeting from the waitress. We ordered the drinks, waited for the drinks to arrive. We then ordered appetizer and the main entrees at the same time. The waiting started again. Fifteen minutes, nothing. Twenty minutes, nothing. The waitress, nowhere to be found. The only time she was around, she was too busy tending the other two tables with 6 guests each. We tried to make eye contact with her, nothing. We tried the other 10 something staff just standing around, the response: Let me get your waitress.\r
Tick, tick, tick...finally the appetizer arrived. Old, brown, soggy...i.e. microwaved.\r
Tick, tick, tick...the main entrees arrived exactly 90 minutes since we've been seated.\r
Cold and not appetizing at all. And nothing to wash them down because our drinks were never refilled. \r
So we went online to the website and let the company know about our experience.\r
And that was the end of it. Never got any reply, never heard from them and never going back, ever!

I've been to this place twice and the first time wasn't too bad (I'd rate them average). However, the second time was just terrible. I ordered a blackened chicken sandwich with a side of fresh fruit. By the time the food came to the table the ""fresh fruit"" was HOT from the hot plate it was sitting on (imagine cut melon being left in the sun too long, gross!!!) The lettuce was totally wilted and inedible. To top it all off was the side of mayo that started to get that glossy-left-out too long look. How disgusting! The only time I ""might"" recommend this place is if you were going to grab a few drinks with friends.

I love this restaurant! It has some of the best tasting food. The food is a Caribbean style and delicious. The wait can be long at time but use there ""call ahead"" feature. Give them a call when you are leaving the house and they will put you down on the waiting list. We do this all the time and never have to really wait at the restaurant. The Servers are wonderful as well. Dont miss out on this hot spot!

First of all, the atmosphere here is wonderful and exotic! Even before entering you will feel like you've been swept away to a tropical island! The outdoor fireplace/pit is a wonderful and warm inviting area as well. The only setback was the wait time was a bit too long. The food certainly has a tropical flair, and while some dishes were a bit too tropical for our tastes, the ones we did order were deliciously unique and wonderful on the palate! The staff was friendly and the service was excellent! This is a great place for families, for a romantic date, or even just to escape all by yourself!

PROS: Unique quisine, unique atmosphere

We went to Bahama Breeze for my b-day. I was enthuzzed. I thought, finally flavor has been brought to Tukwila. It was the worst sea food I've ever had. Not at all seasoned. Not at all worth the ridiculously expensive cost. The only really cool part of this restaurant was the million different drinks they offered. Otherwise you're best entertainment or enjoyment is standing in line for an hour and a half

Bahama Breeze is now one of my all-time favorite restaurants! Parking can be a bit of a problem, and sometimes the wait can be quite long if you want to sit outside the bar, but the food and drinks are worth it. The food is great, and they have fantastic drinks. If you sit outside on the deck (for 21+ only), you can enjoy the live music acts at night. I meet up there for drinks and apps. with my girlfriends all the time. You should check it out if you're in the area.

I was hoping for so much more based on the outside, but the food is some of the worst I've had in Seattle in some time. We only managed to have appetizers after finding nothing appealing on the menu and even the appetizers were horrendous. Coconut on onion rings? Giant chicken legs that they try to pass off as wings? Terrible sauces. With so many options at Southcenter do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Bahama Breeze does in fact have the best milkshakes in the whole world! They have a whole menu of them, from plain chocolate or strawberry, to german chocolate and strawberry banana. The food is also terrific. The staff is really polite. I'm only giving it a 4 because we had to wait a while to get a seat and that was not so much fun.

I have eaten at this establishment, and was shocked at the difference in prices between lunch and dinner! The 2 of us can eat lunch for around $35.00, but dinner was around $55-60! Ouch. The food was great, but the lunch selection was a much better deal for the money.

Great food, and great prices in this very cool restaurant. The restaurant does get very crowded on the weekends, and you can get a bit of a wait to get a seat, but it's well worth the wait. The serve , food presentation, taste and atmosphere remains constant at being the best thing that happened to Tukwila. Since the doors opens, I have received PERFECT 10.0 treatment and the food continues to a delight that night and the next day. Any reason will due to meet at Bahama Breeze.

They don't take reservations, so we called ahead, told us there was no ""list"" to just come in. When we arrived, there WAS a list and we were at the bottom. Told to wait for 40 minutes. Asked at 45 minutes why so long as 6 other large party's were seated as we waited. ""They called ahead."" ARE YOU KIDDING? Hostess actually said, ""You've only waited 5 minutes longer"" When you've waited for 45 minutes, that doesn't matter to them.

The manager offers us free appetizers to ""make up for wait"". There were 6 of us and we were given shrimp and bread...only 5 pieces of each served.

Our waitress didn't actually get around to serving us until AFTER she told us about her 5 kids, shopping all day and rushing to work. WHO CARES? SHUT UP AND DO YOUR JOB.

NOT recommended. Don't waste your time or money.
